Chapter 74 Arriving at Stonehenge
" Do you know what it is to tell your husband you want someone else? " he released her hand making her rub on them.
She folded her hands " I don't want this marriage, maybe you should get an annulment with me" She said.
" Why? you admired me so much " He said looking straight ahead.
" You were my saviour " She had always seen him as one nice saviour even though he did take her blood.
" goddammit my looks girl you never stop getting lost" he said.
" You are..... handsome every other women will do. why did you marry me? it's not like you have feelings for me "
" Yes I don't. I married you to change your status and for you to be my wife. " he said.
" I was okay with the way I was, I am going to age anyways before you and you will be getting married to a vampire " she said and he turned to look at her.
" Katherine " he called and she shifted her gaze to him with a frown on her face.
" What happened between you both " She heard the firm voice of his making her heart skip. The she couldn't deny he had intentionally maneuver the question.
" Nothing happened between us he did hugged me and confessed to me" she said. He didn't reply but she couldn't deny the clenching of his jaw and the tight gripped fist he kept. He was angry.
The trip to Stonehenge with him remained silent until the curricle came to a stop. She climbed down the opposite way he did.
He didn't bother to look her way but continued to walk away. Not long a mare arrived with duke Nicholas on it.
He courtesied to her before walking to join Sirius. She walked with them on the deserted land until they arrived at a pile of huge stone piled together.
Katherine eyes fell on the rocks of stone and she wondered what it was used for, she knew to not voice it out at least not now.
Meanwhile the Lord and duke Nicholas were paired into a discussion.
" The cat? " Nicholas asked.
" We have been having a huge cat roam around the Stonehenge, Its been ruining some certain things here. " He ruffled his hair in the middle of his words. When Katherine overhead their conversation she felt a shiver run through her spine.
" Duke Nicholas the huge cat, do you mean a wolf." She asked doubtly. A huge cat was either a wolf or a tiger she wasn't sure of that.
" Isn't it a tiger Sirius?" Nicholas said referring to the lord.
Sirius tilted his head to her side in a poker expression that says I am still angry with you. '' it's a tiger" he said bluntly.
Katherine nodded in response. They started walking around and indeed they were some built up stones looking ruined. She got tripped by a stone and was about to fall from the front.
'' Are you okay? " Nicholas caught her by placing his hand round her stomach. Sirius ran to her side, he grabbed her two shoulders whirling her around.
" Why can't you watch where you are going!" He scolded her and for a moment Katherine melted seeing that worried expression and concern in his eyes. Was he truly worried for her, wasn't he angry?
" I promise I didn't see the stone which tripped over me" Her eyes were glued to his silver looking eyes.
" Tsk" he rolled his eyes before letting go of her shoulders, he turned away as if he was about to walk away.
They heard a growling sound, was all today about animal God she was zoophobia.She made a quick pace that she ended up standing between the Lord and the duke.
" It's the tiger I see" Nicholas said in a low tone.
" Sirius it's really dark we should leave now" She said with a frightened look.
" The night is the nicest for tours " he stepped away from her and Katherine gasped in fear, she went and took his hand.
" Stay with me am scared " Her voice cracked. He stopped walking and looked at her.
" Scared? just say you want me and not some piece of jerk, are you going to say that " he scoffed walking away and her heart sank in terribly in fear.
" Take care lady Katherine!!! " Nicholas went away with Sirius to hunt the tiger. They continued to walk far away till they were out of her sight. She quickly hugged her arms, she should have changed into an evening dress.
Katherine continued to stand there uptill she started hearing some chirping of the cricket and the dancing of the trees nearby, which she knew was far from this deserted land. Wait? how was that possible. The growling of the tiger replaced her hearing. it continued to draw nearer with each minute and seconds that draws. The sound she heard was strangely louder to her normal hearing, it was as if it suddenly became heightened and more sensitive into perky little thing. The tiger was at her back it was here, Sirius wasn't going to save her, he wasn't anywhere here, he did gone away just because...
She slowly turned with a counting step, she was sure she do stop breathing now. She saw the tiger moving very fast towards her, it's legs moving front and back at an amazing speed. it smelt of blood, raw fresh blood that looked splattered around it's mouth, she wondered if it fed on a person just now, it wasn't Sirius nor was it the Duke they were quite strong vampires and Sirius. Her eyes glued to the mouth of splattered blood which strangely looked appetizing. Katherine eyes twitched.
" Katherine move away!!!" She heard Sirius voice and that instant he pushed her away hovering above her as she had fell to the floor." Are you bl...ii. i-" he looked shocked as he stared at her maybe he noticed her black pitch eyes. " We have really some skulls to settle " he pushed his head to look back to the tiger which snarled with its sharp fangs and his hair flew back.
Sirius stood up as he was suddenly in a defensive stance.
" Sirius please be careful" She uttered lowly because she was finding it hard to speak right now. Her body felt different her overpowerly sensitive. She was beginning to evolve wasn't she.
