Chapter 72 Are you still seeing him

Katherine thought all day about Aaron and what he told her before leaving. The sky changed color at a fast rate as twilight begin to draw closer.

She stayed in her and Sirius room all the rest of the day. She also went back to reading on her book. When it was twilight she stepped out of the room to join the family.

" Katherine sit there and take the magazine " Mrs Aubrey said with a faint smile with one of her friends sitting beside her.

" wow" She uttered surprisingly at Sirius pictures in the magazine where he had many poses as a model.

" Many women have always admired the Lord you must be lucky he is so rich and handsome with rare silver eyes" Mrs Aubrey friend beside her emphasized by posting her two fingers to her eyes. " it's a tragedy he chose a human instead of a vampire " She said mockingly in a way for her to feel embarrassed and ashamed of herself being a human.

" Slecker!!" Mrs Aubrey cautioned the woman. Sylvia walked in and sat opposite Mrs Aubrey. She threw a glance at her and harrumphed.

" Goodevening Sylvia " she said in a mocking tone.

" Hello ladies " A familiar masculine voice was heard beside them making all their heads to turn to the side.

'' Speak of you,you arrive" Mrs Aubrey stood up and gave his son a bear hug.

" Good evening lord Sirius " miss Slecker said with a wide smile.

" Good evening brother !!" Sylvia said happily before doing exactly what her mother did, while being proud of herself.

When Sirius eyes fell on a seated Katherine, he wondered what must be wrong with her. Walking to her side he bent to peck her at the side of her face. " What's wrong with you? " he asked and that instant he smelt a familiar cologne on her.

katherine ignored him but gave a tight smile, without sparing him any glance. Meanwhile Sirius switched to leaving the ladies to spend there time together, when Augustus came to his side.

The ladies continued to have their discussion and each time Slecker and Sylvia found every chance to belittle her.

Katherine excused herself, standing up she walked out of the mansion. She felt out, in their discussion since she have never engaged herself in the elite circle which eventually exhausted her. She walked around leisurely while each time throwing a look at the mansion as she admired it secretly.

The sole of her shoes clicked softly in the exterior of the carpeted grass land. Her delicate hands gripped on the front of her dress to prevent herself from falling over. A heavy whiz of air swam around her rendering her bun tied her messy.

" Miss Katherine! " She heard an unfamiliar male voice behind her making her whirl around. A tall man with a strawberry blonde hair wearing a hooded brown coat walked to her. She offered a natural smile just as she had learnt as a way of greeting.

" What a great timing to meet you lady Katherine " He exhaled with a light grin on his face.

" Uhm you must be a friend of Sirius " Katherine bowed slightly and he reciprocated by bending slightly too. " Greetings "

" Greetings to you, I am indeed, I have been wanting to see you a woman who seem to have captured the Lord of groovingtons heart, you are indeed very captivating " he said.

" oh what a flatter, I don't think i did captured his heart " She said comfortably since he was a friend.

" I am duke Nicholas Sparks " He raised waving it to her face as he tried to shoo the flies around. " What made you say that, don't tell me he haven't told you a dime of his feelings for you. "

Katherine looked surprised " I didn't know you were duke Nicholas, nice meeting you." She asked. " Um feeling, does the Lord uhm have feelings -"

Before she could end her statement duke Nicholas cut in.

" Am surprised he didn't tell you that up till now." He wondered what reason his friend married the fragile human if not of love, if it was her beauty he knew his long known friend will only bed her but not up to marriage. " Am I intruding then am sorry. " he raised his hands in surrender.

" No not at all " She quickly intervened. " did he said that I mean what that? "

" isn't it obvious, he choosing a human to the vampires, I am plainly saying from my hypothesis-"

" What's going on " A familiar male voice spoke cutting in.

Nicholas turned to the voice, he shook hands with Sirius.

" Just trying to get familiarise with your wife " he said with a smile gazing her way.

" Kat did you decide to spend the rest of the day with a tour " Sirius said to her standing just at the middle between Nicholas and her.

" I needed some nice amount of air " Just as she said a whiz of air swept pass them. She was sure her hair is a nest by now. Didn't the etiquette ruled to not groom oneself in public, she wondered if the elite took it seriously.

" Miss Katherine I don't think we are done with our conversation " duke Nicholas said. Sirius had a raised brow at him.

" And what is this important conversation, am suddenly piqued. " Sirius said, his hands was tucked to his pocket. The way he stood he looked calm and collected as if he cared not about what she got to say.

Katherine eyes widened, he doesn't have to know a thing. She has to stop Lord Nicholas from saying a thing if not she would have to live with months of awkwardness and maybe would even die of the embarrassment. She knew Sirius had no feelings or whatsoever for her.

" We were speaking of -" she cut into his words.

" Duke Nicholas!" She bowed slightly dragging him a little away. She offered a frightened smile to Sirius before walking out.

" Lady Katherine " He questioned confusedly.

" Don't tell Sirius anything about I asking if he has feelings for me please " She whispered, just as she was about to turn behold Sirius was at her back.

Katherine gasped and at the process she lost her balance but got caught by Sirius. He helped her stand back on her feet. Sirius caught her chin with his right hand, he raised it slightly up so that her eyes will look straight at him. When he leaned she was surprised and wondered if he wanted to kiss her in front of everyone, not until she heard some sniffling sounds.

" Are you still seeing him? " He asked with a narrowed dark eyes. There was something in his eyes that twitched with anger as he glared at her. His expression looked calm from other angles but only she knew he was pulsating in anger.

" Ugh mm" She bit into her lips in distress.

" We are going to have to talk right now " He said out each word with unleashing force. He moved his hand away from her chin, tucking it back into his pair of trouser pocket. She knew he was trying to control himself because it was public.

To those who caught sight of Sirius and Katherine it was just like he was about to kiss her but instead teased her.
