" Katherine you should meet them outside, they refuse to stand with the servants you see." Uncle Reuben said sardonically, she could imagine the pain they must have pass through standing here.

" Am sorry uncle I didn't know you all arrived." she said in an apologetic tone.

" of course we know dear. " he said.

Katherine felt a hand round her shoulders and it was Evelyn. " let's go together, this is a very big mansion are you given the privilege to walk the castle." Evelyn said and Katherine tab her elbow on her ribs side in return.

" This isn't a castle. " she said in mockingly and Evelyn laughed out. A laughter she have never seen since Katherine left the house. Evelyn have been going through worse abuse by Esther and her sister who was more of a standing for her and talking back at the abusive character of Esther was gone. They continued to walk out among the Elite looking men and women with expensive dress. Evelyn has always wished to at least taste the expensive liquor of the elite and she knew she wouldn't be serve one not with the dress she was putting on.

" You were standing with the lord weren't you? " Evelyn asked and Katherine nodded.

" I couldn't believe the lord didn't recognize me his eyes was distant when he told us to stand with the servants if we had a relative working here." Evelyn tone changed into sad one. She almost forgot Evelyn telling her she was in love with the lord. " The butler of this mansion said we should stand with the servants, do you know I decided to speak out like you do, I said the lord knows us and we won't be standing with the servants, the butler I think fetched the lord-"

" That was when he said that?'' Katherine asked knowing the answer and Evelyn nodded. " If he really knew you I wouldn't think he will say that." Katherine said.

" That is the problem, he really forgot about me that me that day and I was thinking all day about-Katherine you didn't tell me you were working for the Lord. " She said turning her head to her.

'' I was just as clueless as you are but am not working for the Lord but his mother. " Katherine said. When she thought Evelyn wasn't going to say anything she suddenly heard her whisper to her ear.

" With how beautiful and hot you look tonight stay away from the lord don't even make him fall for you." Katherine pulled her from her ear with a frown.

'' The lord wouldn't fall for me." Am sorry Evelyn but how can I tell you the lord is getting married and the elite don't favor the peasants. They saw Steve standing beside the carriage.

" Steve! " she called and when she reached where he was standing, Steve spread his hands for her and Katherine gave him a bear hug.

" I missed you dear sister I think I have to change glasses you I couldn't recognize you." He said in between their hug. Katherine pulled away with a playful glare.

" Really? then go change glasses as soon as possible." She scolded and he laughed at her words. Retrieving back, he held his one hand below his chin.

" You look beautiful in the dress Kathie. " He said and Katherine thank you him.

" How have you work here been not bad I think." He frowned." Those security men of the lord had us stand with the servants.

'' Am sorry Steve." she said

" C'mon it's not your fault." Katherine eyes searched for Claire that was when she caught sight of a foot in the carriage.

" Is that Claire? " she questioned.

" Yeah, you better don't talk to her she is really angry right now she could put up a fight. '' Steve warned her. " Since we aren't allowed to walk in peacefully into the mansion mind taking me round Groovington.

" Claire can you stay in the carriage yourself. " He asked her poking his head into the carriage. He was suddenly pulled inside and that was Claire.

'' Ofcourse not brother you will stay here with me. " She said with a frown while holding Steve hand tightly.

" It's been really long I have been with Katherine, can I talk to her for a while? '' He said and Claire stubbornly shook her head.

" I am your sister steve" she said.

'' Katherine is also my sister. " He said to Claire.

Katherine who stood outside with Evelyn heard the chattering of the siblings.

' Steve I will be spending time with Evelyn take care. '' And she took Evelyn hand and they both walked away. Without notice she they joined the party and Evelyn looked really happy. She was asked out by one of the men to dance with her and for a moment Katherine didn't want to stand alone. Evelyn smiled at her before taking the man's hand as they moved to the dance floor.

She wondered what was taking Aaron's time, was he really going to come, she needed to confess her feelings before anything. When her eyes fell on the lord he was more occupied than he was. He had been standing by her side but didn't ask her for a dance.

" Here you are" She heard a voice behind and she looked back to find Sirius towering height above her. His long raven hair, slightly pale skin, pointed nose, straight jawline and silver eyes.

'' I doubt you were looking for me." she said pointing at her self.

'' Doubt, humans tend to doubt thing not till they see but unfortunately there us no presentable proof." He said his silver eyes looking down at her.

'' Did you find any woman. to your taste for marriage." she asked curiously.

'' No" He said curtly. '' I think I don't want to get married." he said.

" Why? is it because you will find it hard to be loyal with a lady. " she asked remembering Aaron's words. Vampires have high sex drive.

" And what about you, don't you want to be married." he asked back.

" of course I want to be married but for love, I have waited long for Aaron I think I should confess instead. " she said with a flick of the tongue. She made her eyes round the hall and when her eyes returned back to Sirius, she caught his eyes staring at her mouth making her eyes wide so she immediately covered it. " Why are you! "

'' Your lips they are so heart like shape. '' He said and Katherine finally uncovered her mouth. she mouthed a thanks to the compliment.

" Don't think too much about his presence, he isn't coming." Sirius said.

'' I wrote him a letter with a quilt, he would... " she muttered the last words knowing better how late it was to be arriving to a party.

" Did you get anything for your savior Katherine. " He asked with a smirk as if he knew she wouldn't be able to.

'' Yes I do, but it's in the room I will give it to you later." she said, feeling her hands cold she rubbed them on her dress. Gloves were too expensive for a peasant to purchase so they were more worn by the elite.

" huh where? now? what about your par-" Katherine gazed at him surprised.

" Everything is as bored without you " He flicked her head with his finger. " No more surprise looks or else I will drain all your blood. "

" That is unfair-"

" Katherine! Milord" Evelyn walked to them bowing deeply at the lord. The lord showed no interest at who just greeted him and knowing Evelyn would be hurt she said.

'' Milord that is Evelyn my sister. '' she said to him. He finally looked at his side before nodding.

" Milord it seems you didn't recognize me." Evelyn said taking the opportunity at hand.

'' I do recognize you from Enruben. '' He said and Evelyn finally raised up her face to look at him blushingly. She was glad he do recognize her.

" I wish to have a dance with you." Evelyn said.

'' I don't think you got the strict rules of Elite and peasant, I was speaking to miss Katherine here Excuse me. " He said giving back his attention at the woman with red dress. Evelyn hand balled with rage not knowing if it was for her sister. She saw the lord smile at Katherine.

" Evelyn I shall be back. " Katherine said to Evelyn and seeing her sister not against it she went away with the lord.
