Chapter 44

He took the napkin beside her to wipe her lips but Katherine immediately turned her face to the side to stop him.

" Thanks I will do it my self " she reached to take the napkin in his hand but he moved her hand away.

" stay still Katherine " He shunned her.

" You can't- " she was cut short when the napkin in his hand was already cleaning her mouth. oh no!

Katherine was unable to resist more so she left him to do it. " Katherine you eat like a child later you tell me you're grown up really?" He folded the napkin to place it on the table.

The waitress took the trolley and plates away. Some cutlery was left unused as she couldn't use them.

He stood up and Katherine stood after him. she felt all good now so she walked happily trailing behind him till they were in the carriage.

" Milord " she called him when they were seated at the carriage.

" why is it that only Pascal rides the carriage for you" she asked.

He turned to look at her. " pascal is my loyal trusted follower, is there a problem? "

" oh, I was just wondering, he doesn't seem to like me around you"

" Really, I didn't know that, he only wants the good for me" he said oblivious of what his words hinted in the girl's ear.

Oh she was bad for him, she knew and she haven't even think of that but the way it sounded from him made her feel inferior.

" what did he do?" he asked intrigued.

" The first time you took me to the inn he ordered a little food for me and ordered me to eat fast,i was so annoyed that I talked back at him and he seem to glare at me each time he sees me near you he even-" Her hand flew to her mouth was she just tattle taling the coachman to the lord. She shook her head at him to retrieve her words. Her sister has always told her to have a control of her words.

" Katherine you can talk to me ain't I your Savior " He said to her reading her expression. Katherine gulped, he was but in some ways he is sometimes odd.

" You are. please dont take my words seriously, I didn't mean it " Katherine said feeling guilty for what she said.

Sirius could tell she wasn't comfortable with him to say things, he felt a slight of annoyance pass through his eyes.

" How was your life living with your Aunt those passed years." He changed the topic.

" it wasn't that good for I and my sister, Steve and uncle was the one who accepted us whole heartedly." with the topic she remembered she had to write them a letter. " Uncle was adamant on taking my father's house at first but I think he changed."

" hmmm" he nodded. " you don't miss any one of them to write them a letter."

" I haven't been getting any chance but I will write them tomorrow, Mrs Aubrey said she would be adjusting my duty a little tomorrow "

" I know" he cut her off and there was silence.

" milord "

" hmm"

" You always seem to avoid looking my way in the dinning " just as if he doesn't know her. she thought.

" Should I keep staring at you "he said looking over his shoulder at her. " Nobody should know we see each other in any way. " He said and she freezed blinking for a while trying to sink in the word.

Truth that he was her savior, she was nothing but less. They were seeing each other but it wasn't in a bad way. suddenly the thought of last night took over her mind.

The carriage galloped. " Sir I think the carriage just broke down!" The coachman announced.

" The carriage broke down " she said but the lord was already out of the carriage. she wondered if she said something that got him angry.
