Chapter 42

Katherine had a very terrible dream which had the lord in it. She had slept late last night. when she bathed and dressed on her maid outfit, she tuck her socks trying to make it cover her thighs but it was in avail. What has gone over him, he wasn't like that did I annoy him in some way. she didn't know how to view this anymore, but if she wouldn't be fired she would stay as far and distanced from him, for her safety at least. suddenly she felt dizzy which went away again. she looked at her hand where she was bitten to see it back to the way it was.

" what did he do to it" remembering she had job to do she quickly headed out. Reaching Mrs Aubrey's room she hesitately knocked on the door. on her way here no one had looked at her differently. she stepped in when the woman said come in.

The woman was seated in front a mirror so she prepared her bath.

" Katherine come here " hearing her, her heart sank in when she turned to the woman she had a frown on her face. That was when her eyes noticed a picture in her hand. had the servant secretly took picture of her.

" Sirius doesn't want to ever settle down, I am thinking of you checking these women out am going to have him married to one of them " the woman stretched her hand with the picture for her to take. she quietly walked to collect them.

Katherine turned the drawing of women pictures. she quietly stared at the picture one after one. Mrs Aubrey quiet have a taste, she thought. The women in the picture were quiet beautiful. The society chose blonde women as more beautiful that black or brunette. Her eyes fell on the woman with hair coloured gold. The drawing was made by one of the artists of the town she thought.

" This one " she said handling a picture of the blonde woman to Mrs Aubrey.

" I knew you were so perfect in everything but not this extent, Katherine could you believe you chose just exactly I chose.she said and Katherine offered her a smile, she was so relieved.

During the breakfast meal she didn't see Sirius. He never ate his breakfast, she noticed. she wanted to slip away from the woman's eyes to go see her roommate servant.

" Katherine can you excuse us we are discussing a crucial matter" Mrs Aubrey said and she bowed to them hurrying out. she went in search of the servant. when she reached the servant quarters she walked all around.

" Katherine here isn't your post go back " A male servant who didn't just pass her like the other servants asked.

" I was told to be excused by Mrs Aubrey " she said walking fast. she decided maybe it was high time she become social with her other servants.

" Excuse me Did you see Titania?"she asked a female servant.

" Katherine is there a problem" she heard a voice from behind and behold it was Titania.

" we need to talk''

" Talk when you had never wanted to talk to me and then now " Titania expression which looked at her perplexed at first turned to fury. " I don't want to talk to you or associate my self to you got it, I will make you understand just because you got the position of a personal maid you are just like we are!!" The girl said and Katherine face paled more.

she looked around to see some of the servants gathering, she gritted her teeth. " please Titania its not how you saw it"

The servant looked at her in surprise why she was suddenly wanting to be her friend. she turned around to walk away but Katherine had no time to waste.

" she has never even spoken to me" one of the servant said.

" you know I had duty to do Titania I have to wake up early in the morning, please don't do that, let's talk it out" Katherine said.

" Titania why don't you accept her I think its true her work is much tougher than ours" one of them said.

"okay" Titania nodded surprised at the sudden reason the girl wanted to be her friend.

Katherine ushered her to their room before locking the door. she turned to face her.

" About what you saw please could it be kept a secret " Katherine said hoping the girl would listen.

" Stop acting more stranger!! what are you talking about " she demanded.

For a moment Katherine felt puzzled she wanted to believe the girl was oblivious of it but she knew Titania saw it, and her expression last night was a proof.

" you know what am talking about. Last night, the lord and I" she said.

" what are you talking about what did I saw and what is this the lord and you" she asked her expression written in curiosity. Oh no had she perhaps mistaken faces but it was indeed the Lady. Something doesn't seem right.

" forget I will be with Mrs Aubrey now" and she walked away. Titania watched her leave the door all of a sudden calm. she took in what the woman had said. secret, her and the lord, last night. She must have gone crazy,that was close to impossible, she shook her head.

Katherine accompanied lady Aubrey while patiently waiting for the lord arrival. Maybe after revealing to him what happened then she would be miles from him.

when it turned dusk Sirius arrived but she wasn't going to approach him she patiently waited for dinner to be over.

When it was finally dinner time. The whole family came down to eat and she stood behind Mrs Aubrey. The family engaged in some random discussion again.

" Sirius how are you coping with handling the soul eaters " Mr Augustus asked as he chew slowly on his food while his son held his attention.

" Good" he answered curtly. she could tell that wasn't the answer Mr. Donovan was anticipating. The discussion in the room continued whereby Sirius didn't even spare a single look to her direction. She finally lost interest in their talk but it was quick to come back when she heard her name.

" Aubrey dear your maid isn't a vampire hasn't she been standing all day" Mr. Augustus said.

" She haven't a slightest complain " she said to her husband." Katherine get some rest and resume tomorrow, I will find a way to adjust your duty."

she bowed deeply before leaving. of course she went straight to the kitchen. With the permission of the kitchen head, she took her food which wasn't any filled but little.

Katherine headed to her room, she saw Titania sitting on the bed. she sat beside her on the bed before chunking down her food. it tastes delicious.

" Katherine what was that you were saying, what happened between you and the lord " Titania asked and she felt her throat tighten, her food choking on her throat. she let out a few cough before heading to the table. she pour her self some water from the jug. She was getting more confused, did Titania really not know.

" Titania it's really nothing, I am really hungry and don't need questions right now, can you forget what I said earlier, I must have been a little high" she said to her, walking back to take her last spoon from the plate. Hell she was damned hungry.

" You must still be hungry" she heard Titania say.

" There is nothing to do about it, I will just go to sleep " Katherine quickly lay down. In as much she was helly hungry and her stomach light and frail, she prayed Titania will just sleep fast so she could go talk to the lord.

" There is lets go buy some stuff outside " Titania said. Titania now understood Katherine wasn't begging for their friendship but what she was hiding.

" Titania it isn't safe don't bother am cool"

" I ain't, I am famished."

" okay I will help, what are you thinking we do Titania " Katherine sat up to look at her.

" we can sneak out of the mansion, you just get a silver coin from your saving and we are off"

Katherine found the idea a little bizarre but was a nice option. She nodded, maybe she would just talk to the lord later.

They both sneaked out of the mansion but not the gate. " Katherine walk faster" Titania said but she was already walking faster. The compound was to big to reach the gate that fast.

" Where do you two think you are going!" Katherine almost bumped into a tall muscular built body. She recognized the voice immediately but prayed it wasn't the owner. she slowly tried to raise up her head.

" Oh my milord '' Titania called. Katherine gaze shifted to Titania who was on the feet of the lord. " Milord it really not what you are thinking, I beg your forgiveness." Titania looked at Katherine giving her a sign to join her which made her confuse. Katherine skeptically fell to his feet as well. Hell she was hungry.

Sirius saw how Katherine was hesitant to fall to his feet, but atlast she was there. " Stand'' he commanded." remind me you name. he said zeroing his gaze at Titania.

" Titania" she said quickly.

The both stood their eyes looking pleading at him. " Are you trying to corrupt our new maid " he questioned and the servant shook her head vigorously.

" Leave " he said and the two turned away. " Not you but you " he said referring to Titania.

Titania immediately ran to her heels till she couldn't be seen anymore. " We were merely famished."

" Don't do that again " He said that with a serious expression..

Katherine nodded. it would feel awkward to bring up the topic so she turned to leave, anyway Titania doesn't remember again. she wondered if the girl had a lost of memory.

" Did I tell you to leave" He said but his legs moved and she thought of following him.

" Titania doesn't remember anything, I don't know if she is-"

" I compelled her " she heard the lord sharp words but could only watch his back as she followed him.

suddenly her knees wobbled, she was dizzy. " Milord! I can't seem to walk it look like I will just pass out" she ceased on her step holding onto her head with her hands.
