" Evelyn," the door to their room banged open and and their aunt Esther walked in. before that she paused on her step seeing the two siblings who hurriedly cleaned their tears to appear as If weren't crying.

" Evelyn aren't you the eldest, don't you know you should control your sister you should know better this tears would not bring a difference to what happened " Aunt Esther said to Evelyn, who withdrew from the hug to caress her sister's hand.

" I came to tell you two to come down for dinner " she said turning to leave but paused. " I wouldn't like you two crying, what happened has happened understood" she said before walking away.

Katherine and Evelyn sat quietly at the dinning with them, no one spoke much. and every then and now Claire continued to glare at Katherine.

" Claire it look like you aren't yet acquainted with Katherine " Reuben questioned who have noticed his daughter glaring. Claire wanted to say I don't like her but kept it to herself and continued to eat the fresh dinner prepared by the servant. The Heathcliff could only afford one servant who worked for them. "Steve and Claire make sure to show them around you all can get to know each other quite well then " Mr. Reuben said while chewing his food in quantity.

After the meal, Evelyn was called by Esther to help her with something. " Steve you can show her around yourself am not interested!" Claire said walking away. she saw Steve walking to her, who was left alone to show her around.

" Hi Kathie " he called and Katherine noticed how Steve have switched to calling her by her short name which made her more wary of the boy. Steve gave her a friendly smile. " I will be showing you around " he said Katherine nodded back, for a moment his eyes shifted to look at her once rag cloth which she had changed to a neat one.

They walked to around the inside bungalow before they stepped outside. The only environment she liked most was the compound. " There is a flower which was planted by a florist -"

" A florist? " Katherine asked intrigued her eyes raised to look at him. There was a heavy air flow which swept to their side ruffling Steve spiky black hair as well as hers.

" yes " he chuckled. " my father got a florist to plant flowers, I will show you at the backyard." he said to her, leading her to the backyard. when they reached the backyard Katherine saw flowers which were planted making the compound more beautiful. Her eyes were still glued to the flower when she heard Steve say. " what do u think of the flowers Kathie " he asked her.

" They are beautiful. " Katherine commented taking in the Sorrounding.

" This is called the garden of flowers " he said to her, expecting to receive a livelier laughter from her but got non, only a hollow and empty look, but she had repeated his words. " The garden of flowers " Katherine said.

Steve looked at the girl who looked stressed out and that was because of her parents death. He wondered how she was taking it in at this young age of hers. " Kathie please don't mind what my sister said earlier, she wasn't happy seeing a stranger will come to live along with her " he said to the girl who nodded her head and he waited for her to say something.

" I don't mind that " she said and he nodded.

" Am sorry for you and your sister's loss " Steve said and Katherine who was just looking thin air raised her face to look at him. Steve was kind and humble unlike his sister if he wasn't putting on an act.

" Thank you for that, I do appreciate "she said emptily to him.

" Are you done looking at them we should head back ". Steve said looking around as it was dark with the only source of light being his torch. Katherine nodded and they started going back.

" uhm, we are planning on going out tomorrow, it would be very good for you and your sister, your minds can be more free than sulking, you know your parents. " he said as they walked and Kathie didn't reply. Steve didn't speak again as he seem like the only one speaking all the while, until they walked back inside and he just walked to the opposite side.

Katherine who noticed that sighed. she was in a very foul mood to comment at Steve words and it looked like it had annoyed him.
