Creating My Own Army (on hold)

[Current World: Naruto] This story takes place in an alternate universe (AU) of Earth, where kingdoms still exist. The main character (MC) is the youngest war general due to a conflict with a more powerful kingdom. After dying in battle, the MC is offered a unique opportunity: a job that involves fighting monsters and armies. This position comes with two options—if they accept, they will gain power by going through trials; otherwise, they can choose to ascend to heaven or be reincarnated into their original world once again 1. Please note, this is not a harem story. I attempted to create one in my first fanfiction but struggled to find a plausible way to introduce such dynamics. Additionally, after reading numerous harem stories, while I don’t dislike the concept itself, the justifications provided in those narratives often felt contrived and unconvincing—for example, "He’s so strong, I need sisters," or "He’s the last of his clan, so he needs multiple wives." These reasons simply didn't resonate with me. Therefore, if romance becomes part of this story, it will feature a single pairing rather than a harem setup. Disclaimer: I do not own the Naruto world or any of its characters. My story only includes an original character (OC). Furthermore, I do not claim ownership of the cover picture used for this work. If the rightful owner wishes for it to be removed, please contact me.

[Alert: SUMMONING HAS BEEN ACTIVATED BY LUSIS]

[WORLD QUEST: THE WORLD OF MALAEMOR IS FACING DANGER. THE PLAYER MUST SAVE IT.]

[30 SECONDS TO TELEPORT]

Using the remaining time before teleportation, I attempted to save my shadows. However, Lusis interrupted, explaining that ordinary shadows wouldn't be useful in this scenario. Instead, he instructed me to bring only the Ten Commandments, Miko, Gako, and Pain—those capable of aiding me against the impending threat.

With no time to waste, I prepared myself. Equipping my armor and swords, I purchased several magic potions as backup and teleported to the designated shadows, saving them into my inventory. The timer hit zero, and I was whisked away once more. When I opened my eyes, I found myself floating in what appeared to be… space!

Looking around, I spotted an enormous star-like object behind me. It wasn't a sun—it was the world I was tasked to protect. Its size dwarfed any celestial body I'd ever seen, yet strangely, it emitted no heat. Lusis contacted me immediately.

Lusis: "Get ready. This is a significant challenge. I hadn't planned to give you something like this so soon, but your rapid power growth has forced my hand. I'll be supervising personally."

Ajamu: "Understood. But explain—why am I in space? And what is that star-like object?"

Lusis: "It's not a star; it's the world you're here to defend. You're currently in the outer layer of its atmosphere. A World Eater is approaching. Prepare yourself—you'll need every ounce of your strength to face it. Also, those weapons won't help. Use your Truth-Seeking Balls instead."

I nodded, dismissing my weapons into my inventory. Activating all my eyes and entering Sage Mode, I summoned my shadows. As my senses expanded, I spotted it on the horizon—and froze. Despite double-checking, the sight didn't change.

A colossal black serpent loomed in the distance, its three crimson-rimmed black eyes glowing ominously. Its sheer size defied comprehension—it could encircle the world behind me entirely, swallowing it whole.

Ajamu: "Wait… am I supposed to fight that ?"

Lusis (voice tinged with understanding): "I know how overwhelming it looks. This is your first encounter with such a threat. Consider your previous battles mere tutorials. This is the kind of danger worlds face regularly. Believe it or not, this one is relatively young. Older ones are ten times larger and far more destructive."

His words left me speechless. Let me clarify—I'm a warrior general. I've fought countless battles, faced death head-on, and even died once. Yet, seeing this monstrosity barreling toward me was unlike anything I'd ever experienced. The suffocating aura of hunger and death emanating from it paralyzed me momentarily.

[Player Struck by [Fear] and [Primal Presence] from Angron the World Eater]

[Removing Harmful Status Effects...]

Lusis: "Pull yourself together! You must either kill it or push it back beyond the outer layer of this world. If necessary, I'll step in to finish it off. But under no circumstances can it approach within 500 meters of the planet. Understood?"

Shaking off my shock and the lingering effects of the creature's aura, I wasted no time issuing orders to my shadows.

Ajamu: "Summon your Susanoo and unleash everything you've got. Pain, go all out with your strongest techniques!"

As for me, I conjured ten Truth-Seeking Balls and launched them directly at the serpent's face. It noticed the incoming projectiles and retaliated with a massive laser beam from its eyes, intercepting five of the balls. The remaining energy surged toward me.

The attack was impossibly fast and vast. With no time to dodge and my shadows still too close to teleport safely, I summoned my Susanoo and raised my staff defensively. My shadows moved in front of me, forming a protective barrier.

The impact obliterated all my shadows instantly. My Susanoo absorbed the brunt of the blast, but even then, I sustained damage that depleted 10% of my HP. Meanwhile, the surviving Truth-Seeking Balls struck their target, causing the serpent to roar in pain. However, the wounds inflicted were superficial—mere scratches compared to its immense size. Enraged, it intensified its assault.

Ajamu: "Shit, shit! Shadows, abandon my initial order! Spread across this space so I can teleport to your positions. Everyone, take a direction and fly—NOW!"

They obeyed without hesitation. Giving the serpent no respite, I continued launching Truth-Seeking Balls while keeping a mana potion handy for when my reserves ran low.

My second wave of attacks pushed forward, aiming to halt its advance. Hoping to provoke it into retreating, I closed the distance between us. The serpent countered by firing another laser, attempting to neutralize my projectiles while accelerating toward me. Undeterred, I kept generating and hurling attacks, downing mana potions to maintain my output.

Despite my relentless barrage, its advance remained unchecked. Another devastating attack bore down on me, forcing me to teleport to one of my distant shadows. To my horror, I realized the trajectory of the attack would strike the world itself.

Lusis: "Don't worry about that. I'll defend the world this time. Given the unexpected strength of this foe, taking that hit would cost you at least 30% of your health."

Nodding grimly, I resumed my assault, gradually luring the beast away from the planet. For hours, I danced around it, dodging lasers and tail swipes while bombarding its body with Truth-Seeking Balls.

Then came the moment that nearly ended me. Opening its maw, the serpent unleashed a deafening sonic attack I hadn't anticipated, dealing 45% damage. Before I could recover, a follow-up laser reduced my HP to a mere 15%.

Fury coursed through me. Abandoning caution, I ceased leading it away and poured everything I had into obliterating it. Universal Pull and Push proved ineffective against its titanic form, so I focused on carving deep gashes in its armored hide. Once I created enough openings, I unleashed torrents of fire and lightning upon its exposed flesh.

Four grueling hours passed—a blur of combat, teleportation, and desperate consumption of HP, MP, and stamina potions. Finally, the beast succumbed. By the end, I had expended 60 mana potions, 30 HP potions, and 20 stamina potions. My armor shattered during the final moments of the battle.

Lusis (impressed): "This kid truly is something else. To actually slay it… his potential and determination are extraordinary."

Ajamu (exhausted): "Is it over?"

Lusis: "It's over. You've surpassed expectations once again, Ajamu. I'm genuinely proud of you. Though this foe turned out stronger than anticipated, I hope you now understand that true strength isn't measured solely by your dominance in other worlds—it's your power here that truly matters."

Ajamu: "I understand. I need rest. Send me home."

Lusis: "Very well. See you next time."

After saving my shadows, I purchased new clothing and returned to where I had been summoned. Sending Miko and Pain back to Konan and Yahiko, I teleported to the Uchiha compound with the others. Mentally and physically drained, I headed straight home.

On the way, I reviewed my updated stats and titles, pleased with my progress since arriving in this world. Upon reaching my house, a shadow clone of Miko greeted me, offering food and a bath. Too exhausted to indulge, I declined and collapsed into bed.
