Coincidence, again?

Luna realized her phone had been vibrating and took it out and realized it's a call from an unknown number from Indonesia. She looked at him and he smiled while shaking his new phone.

"That's my number in case you're back to Indo and need someone to pick you up or anything," Alec smiled.

"Thanks," she smiled back. "So do you need anything else?"

"You're my hostage for today so I'll go wherever you want to go," he grinned.

She sighed and tucked her mini hookah bottle in her pocket and they both walked to the Bras Basah complex. She hunted for cheap books and he did look at her genre and the book she selected. He has to admit that she's quite an attractive nerd with a wide selection of topics to talk about, unlike girls around her age.

They went around and had lunch and drank beer at Chijmes. He realized that she doesn't wear thick makeup because her face was red as she drank a bit. They had finger food and she ate just one-third of the food they shared on a platter. She never thought of dieting, but she doesn't want to suffer from obesity and diabetic again like she used to after breaking up with that arse. She noticed he was looking at her as if she's a typical Singaporean who wants to stay slim.

"Are you worried you might've gotten fat?" Alec asked.

"Nah, I just have a diabetic and obesity tendency," Luna took a sip of her beer.

She took a peek of Alec's side profile as he drank his beer. He looks attractive with his army cut and the way he talks was quite interesting, as if he knew everything. But she realized that he's looking for a girl to play with. And if she's on her first life before this she might've agreed if he ever asked. But right now, she's not sure about this guy's intention. Probably, he's just interested in her because of her mini hookah and she knows he's an expert in handling that.

She doesn't want to think too much but her mind has been running wild ever since she met this guy. She realized why his friend's sister gave him visible love bites, as if claiming him and warning other women not to take him. But Luna doesn't care about that kind of stuff. She's too tired of wasting her youth for men. She's tired of having fun.

"If you ever had a second chance in this life, would you make the same choice again?" Alec asked again as if he's testing her.

"Nope, I won't make the same choice that I knew will end up badly," Luna replied calmly. "Cause you only live once, why waste your time on a bad decision that you know will ruin your life."

"Is that why you're trying to control your carbs and sugar intake from now on?" Alec's question doesn't feel like a question but more like a trap.

"Yes, and I can still enjoy food like this at least without having to worry about my blood sugar level, my insulin-shot, or my hypertension or even have to do dialysis because of kidney failure in the future," Luna dodged the trap by margin. "What about you?"

"Should we move because there's some people who keep staring at you?" he dodged it and pointed at the table behind them.

She dropped her book, bent down and slightly moved her face a bit and saw the asshole couple. "Mind helping me to get rid of that troublesome non-existence couple?" she smiled but her face clearly showed her exhaustion. "I'm tired of confrontation."

"Bill please," he waved to the waiter.

"Should we split the bill?" she asked.

"No, I pay since you're my baby's momma," he said teasingly and kissed her finger.

Luna coughed back her laughter. "Sure sure, then you'd better buy me a Mazda Rx-8 when we're back to Indo."

"Of course, anything for you, as long as you're happy dear," he grinned. "Maybe we should buy a flat at Rhys Bay?"

And they flaunted with touches, kisses, and words like that until they left the restaurant. She saw the look on their face as she walked past them. One's full of jealousy, one's full of regret. And she laughed refreshingly for the first time as if she got her lump off her chest. He noticed her carefree looks and found it interesting, everything about her was quite interesting. They walked back to the hotel and he grabbed her hands and guided her to his room.
