(5) Ichika Amasawa Meets Ruby Rose

"Hmm, hmm, hmm..."

Humming to myself, I flip through the magazine in my hand as I read through it.

I was currently in the Dust till Dawn store because Kiyotaka-senpai requested for me to watch a certain someone.

He also told me to read this specific magazine for some reason.

Who cares~

This is Kiyo-senpai we're talking about.

Hopefully after this he'll treat me to something special!

If you know what I mean~

"Weapons Magazine, Weapons Magazine, Weapons Magazine..."

"Hm?" Turning to the sound of constant muttering, I look to my right to see a girl in red looking through all the magazines in display. "Weapon's Magazine? Isn't that the one I'm reading." I mutter to myself before approaching the girl. "Excuse me~!" I call out to her with a cute smile.

"H-huh? Oh uh h-hello."

Looking at her face, my eyes making contact with her... SILVER EYES!

Is this who Kiyo-senpai wanted me to evaluate?!

Hmph, as expected of my senpai. He's already found her!

"You're looking for this, right?" I say, show the girl in front of me the magazine in my hand.

"Ah! YESYESYES! OHMYGOSH they have it!" She yells before snatching it out of my hand, hugging it with all her life. I blink twice in surprise and giggle to myself. She's so cute~ "Oh, uh sorry. Hehe, here, I didn't mean to snatch it out of your hand, it's just I've been looking forward to the new issue and now that it's here im so glad, but now you have it and—"

"You're rambling." I state, cutting her off by cover her mouth with my hand. Moving it away, she blushes and scratches the back of her head. "It's okay though, I was just interested in it. If you don't mind, can we read it together~"

"Together! Yeah I don't mind at all." She responds with a gleeful expression.

"I'm Ichika Amasawa, what about you, little red riding hood?~"

"Little red riding hood." She mutters before introducing herself. "I'm Ruby Rose, a huntress in training!" She states proudly, puffing out her... chest.

"Wow, really~" I exclaim in awe.

"Ehehe, yep!"

We both continue to talk to each other as we read through the magazine. The both of us talked about a lot of things, like how she wields a scythe, which I find hard to believe, and her dream to be a hero.

As cute as she is... Heroes don't exist.

The both of us were so invested in our conversation that we hadn't noticed a bunch of thieves were robbing the store.

"Hey! Both of you! Hands up!"

"Hm?" I turn to one of the thieves that called out to us with an innocent expression.

Wait a second~

He's one of those henchmen from the club Kiyotaka-senpai works in!

I remember beating up and breaking the bones of many of them. Ah, good times.

While I was reminiscing, the robber held up a sword to mine and Ruby's face.

So this one doesn't know me. But it's hard to tell if I had tortured this one before though.

I mean they all look the same~

You can't blame me for that.

"Are you... robbing us?" Ruby asks in curiosity.

Ah, she's so brave.

Yes, I've made a decision.

From here on out, your my sweet little kouhai!

I'll protect you at all costs!

"Yes!" Hey, another one joins in our lovely chat.

He doesn't know me as well.

Which means no one should. Well it would make sense, I've mostly been with my senpai, having fun~ And working in my Café.

"Go Ruby!"

I watch Ruby as she uses, what I assume, her semblance to kick the thief away. As the other one runs at us, I throw a bunch of magazines at him and laugh.

"H-hey, stop that!" The thief yells as he blocks his face.

Before I knew it I was grabbed by Ruby and immediately found myself outside the dust shop.

"Huh?"

Looking at Ruby, she smile at me as she pushes me behind her.

Bring out a red rectangle, it transforms in to... Scythe.

Woooow! She can actually use a scythe.

Watching her spin the weapon in her hand, she stabs in into the ground. The rest of the henchmen run out of the store with someone different following behind?

All of them immediately began shooting at Ruby and me as she dodges using her semblance while I side step them.

Watching Ruby charge in and kick them while dodging and blocking, using her scythe to stay in the air, I realised she's not using the edge of her weapon to do any fatal damage.

She doesn't want to hurt them much I guess.

Looking up on the roof of the store, I see two familiar figures gazing down at us, watching the scene.

Kiyotaka-senpai and Ryuen-senpai.

I guess this is what Kiyo-senpai wanted to see and test.

Senpai planned this out obviously. I'm not surprised.

Kyaaaaa! Senpai just looks so cool with his hair blowing in the wind.

Making eye contact with him, I communicate with our eyes, asking if I can join in. Seeing him nod, I take out my chains and charge in to help out Ruby.

Using my chains to wrap one of them that was about to attack Ruby from behind, I throw him into the air.

"Ahhhhh!"

Not bothering to see if he lands safely or not, I turn to Ruby with an eye smile, who looks at me in surprise, I ask;

"Hey Ruby, can I help as well?" Seeing her nod dumbly at my expression. I charge in with her. "Watch out!"

Shooting my chain at one of them who barely dodged with a cut on the cheek, it stabs into the wall behind him and I fling myself to him and kick his chest.

Bouncing off that guy, I turn and do a roundhouse kick, kicking a gun out of another's before wrapping his arm with my chains and throwing him at the his friends.

Dodging another round of shots, I flip into the air and remain upside down as I was about to dive into my shooter, but Ruby struck him with the blunt edge of her scythe.

Sending her a smile, which she returns, I return to her side with my chains around me as we stare at the last man standing.

Roman Torchwick.

Luckily he doesn't know me as I've never interacted with him directly.

"I guess you really do get what you don't pay for." Roman says as he drops his cigar.

"Hey!" I wave at him. "You're that carrot top guy right? I wonder how much we'll get paid if we turn you in~?"

"Carrot Top? That's new." We hear him mutter before crushing his cigar. "Well, Red and Pink, I think we can all say it's been an eventful evening, and as much as I'd love to stick around." He says raising his can and pointing it at us. Noticing an aiming sight pop out of the side of it, I prepare myself. "I'm afraid this is where we part ways." He says before he shoots at us which I immediately slap the bullet away with my chains.

Smoke appears as soon as the bullet hits my chains and once it finally cleared out, we see him gone.

I'm glad he's smart enough to know when he's losing~

"Ruby! Let's chase after him~!" I yell at her as I fling myself to the side of the building with my chains and use them to climb up to the rooftop that Carrot Top had climbed up to.

Why would he be going there?

It's just a dead end. Unless he has some sort of getaway vehicle waiting for him.

Hearing the sound of a thud, I look to see Ruby landing down beside me.

"Hey, where do you think your going, Carrot Top~!"/"You won't get away!" Me and Ruby yell at the same time.

"Persistent." He says as a bullhead appears behind him and the hatch opens, allowing him to get in.

I was right!~

Glancing to my right, I see a figure running to us. I immediately recognise them, which is why I decide not to stop Romans attack as he drops a dust bomb at our feet.

Once it explodes, we hear Roman laugh, but a blonde haired lady blocked the attack with some kind of magic circle that must relate to her semblance.

This woman is Glynda Goodwitch, Professor Ozzy's personal secretary. Her semblance is telekinesis, something she mastered to the fullest.

She also uses a riding crop, which I find kinky~

I remember senpai researching her a month ago along with everyone else currently residing in beacon.

Senpai probably knew she would intervene in this situation.

After all, she is the headmaster's secretary.

Which means everything has been planned out. The mysterious viewer I felt watching us other than the senpais was Ozzy and her.

Which means this entire situation is going to be used to admit me and Ruby into Beacon.

Something that senpai predicted to happen and he planned out.

Manipulated the situation to not only evaluate the silver eyed warrior but also get me admitted into Beacon academy.

Senpai is so coool~!

As expected of senpai!

Watching the secretary fight some woman with a fire semblance, I couldn't see the fire woman properly.

But someone with a fire semblance?

If I tell senpai about this, he'll definitely praise me more for my efforts!

Noticing Ruby shooting with her scythe, helping out Glynda, I used one end of my chain, launching it at high speed to the bullhead, but it manages to dodge as they start flying away, escaping.

I frown and sigh in dismay. "Too bad they got away."

"Hey, Ichika! How were you able to control those chains! Is that your semblance!" Ruby asked me a multitude of questions as she rushed up to me, but before giving me a chance to answer, she rushes to the secretary that helped us out. "You're a Huntress right?! Can I have your autograph?!" She asks in awe with a pleading expression.

Before we knew, we found ourselves in an interrogation room.

Which means he should be coming to speak with us.

"So when the hell is the show gonna start?" Ryuen asks.

Currently me and Ryuen were on top of the Dust Till Dawn store, leaning on the edge, waiting for Roman and the henchmen from the club to arrive and rob the store.

"Patience. Roman should be here soon." I answer.

"Speak of the devil, he's here." Ryuen says as we watch Roman and a bunch of lackeys enter the store, only 10 seconds after, everyone inside rushed out. "I still wonder how a bimbo like him became the top criminal in the Vale and made it into Top 10 in Remnant."

"Looks can be deceiving. Here." I hand Ryuen a file.

"What's this?" Ryuen starts to go through the file.

I look off into the night sky and answer. "It's a file on Ruby Rose, everything about the girl as well as her family. It seems she inherited her eyes from her mother."

"How the hell does an emotional bitch with silver eyes die?" Ryuen says as he reads through it, commenting on Summer's personality.

"Because whatever Summer Rose went up against, it wasn't simply a Grimm." I say as we noticed red petals flying out the store, revealing Ichika and Ruby.

"Seems like the show is finally starting eh?" Ryuen says as he looks away from the file and watches Ruby fight. "Seems like red riding hood can actually use a scythe. Impressive for a pipsqueak, it's double her fucking size!" Ryuen chuckles and watches on with a grin.

Noticing Ichika looking at me, we made eye contact as she asks for permission to join in. Nodding, I allowed her to join in as this was all part of my plan.

"Amasawa's gotten better. I still wonder where the hell you two came from." Ryuen says as he watches her fight.

"That's something that doesn't matter now." I say, enjoying the wind against my face.

"I guess you're right. I'm still can't wait for our rematch and beat the crap out of you." Ryuen looks to me with a grin.

"I look forward to it." I answer before noticing something behind me had caught Ryuen's attention.

Turning around, we watch as a car pull up and two people come out. One was a man with white hair with a green scarf, holding a cane. The other was a blonde woman with a purple cape, holding a riding crop.

"Is that a fucking sex toy in her hand?" Ryuen blurts out as he looks like he's on the verge of laughter.

"It's a riding crop. That's the headmaster Ozpin and his assistant, Glynda Goodwitch." I answer.

"Those two huh. Seems like their gonna intervene just as you said." Ryuen says as I nod.

We watch as Professor Ozpin gave orders to his assistant and the woman started making her way, presumably to assist Ichika and Ruby. Ozpin continues to watch the fight before turning to the roof of the store that was being robbed.

But he sees no one there.

Now me and Ryuen were walking away from the place and slowly making our way to the police station.

"That Oz guy is sharper than I thought. He sensed us staring at him." Ryuen says.

"Though I saw him from afar, I could tell he's more capable than I thought." I mutter.

"You think you could win against him." Ryuen asks with an intrigued expression.

"Yes and no."

"...what?" Ryuen mutters with confusion written all over his face, as he stops walking.

"There's something about him, I'm not sure." I simply answer.

"Hearing that from you..." Ryuen trails off as we both began walking again.

"Just be wary around him."

Me and Ryuen ended up splitting up as I made my way inside the Police Station while he had business to take care of as he soon won't be around much since he'll be focused with Becaon Academy.

Walking inside, I noticed two familiar figures sitting down in the waiting area. It was Taiyang, the father of Ruby Rose and Yang, the sister. Walking up to them, I made myself known.

"Hi, are you both possibly related to Ruby Rose."

"Huh, oh yes, I'm her father, Taiyang Xiao Long." Taiyang introduces himself as we both skate hands.

"Oh! It's the handsome bartender from the club!" Yang's eyes lit up with recognition as she looks at me. "I'm Yang, oh crap. Don't tell me you're here for the other day." Yang's eyes lit up with slight fear as she glances at her father.

The man simply sighs as he runs his hand through his hair. "What did you do now, Yang?"

"Uh..."

"I'm not here to talk about that right now, Mr Xiao Long. My name is Kiyotaka Ayanokouji, my girlfriend is Ichika Amasawa, the girl who was your daughter's accomplice in stopping the robbery."

"Nice to meet you Kiyotaka, but please, just call me Tai." Tai says as he rubs the back of his head in embarrassment.

"Alright Tai." I nod, ignoring the muttering words of Yang disappointing in me already dating someone. "I heard you're friends with Professor Ozpin." I say sitting down in front of them.

"Oh yeah, me and him go way back as I used to attend Beacon before becoming a huntsman. Ahhh the good old days." Tai says as he reminisces.

"Ah, I'm planning to be a huntsman as well. I'm joining Beacon Academy this year." I say, before Yang jumps into the conversation.

"Really?! I'm joining as well. So is Ruby in 2 years. She's only 15." She's says as I turn to her.

"Ichika is in a similar situation, she's only 16." I turn back to Tai. "I was hoping if you could ask Professor Ozpin to let Ichika in a year early." I say.

"Sorry, but I don't know if he'll allow it. It's unheard of a hunter in training to enter Beacon below the age requirement." Tai responds with an apologetic expression.

"That's understandable." I nod.

I take out an envelope from my inside pocket and place it on the table. Sliding it over to Tai, he raises an eyebrow at me. Picking up the envelope, he takes out the paper from inside and reads through the contents.

His eyes widen as he turns to me before looking back at the paper then at me again. "W-what is this?"

"Huh? What's up Dad?" Yang asks with a slightly worried expression as she notices the look on his face.

I lean back in the chair I'm sitting on and answer; "This is the amount of money your daughter owes us after barging into our club and destroying it. There's also the medical bills of the people she hurt."

"Y-Yang! What is this?!" Tai asks with an outraged expression.

"W-well I-I... I just..." Yang stutters as she doesn't know how to answer looks down.

Seems Yang doesn't want her father to know she's been looking for her biological mother.

Tai sighs as he looks back to me. "I-I'm sorry, but the Lien owed... it's gonna take me a while."

"Hmm, I'm not sure how Ryuen would feel on a delayed payment."

"Ryuen... You mean Kakeru Ryuen!" Tai shouts in surprise as Yang whips her head to me in surprise.

"You mean... t-that guy was...?"

"Yes, you ruined one of his properties and hurt his people." I simply answer for her.

After a few seconds of silence, I take the paper out of Tai's hands and place it back into the envelope before pocketing it. Noticing Tai's confusion, I explain;

"I could easily make this go away, all you have to do is have a speak with Professor Ozpin."

"Ozpin huh." Tai says looking down in thought.

All three of our attentions was dragged to Ozpin, Glynda coming out with Ichika and Ruby behind them.

"Ah! Senpai, you're here!" Ichika runs to me with and gives me a hug.

"How did it go?" I ask as she lets go of me.

"It was alright, but me and Ruby had to choose between the two of us on who'd go to Beacon."

If it was just Ozpin interrogating the both of them, he would've allowed the two to attend Becaon Academy early. However, with Glynda Goodwitch by his side, always nagging at him about the council and whatnot, she must've persuaded him into making a more appropriate decision.

Luckily I predicted this outcome.

"At first, he wanted us to duel it out, but I stepped up and was the bigger girl, letting her go to Beacon." Ichika says as he leans her head towards me.

"That was a nice thing of you to do." I say before patting my girlfriends head, eliciting a satisfied smile from her.

Seeing Ruby walk over to us with Yang following, I stopped and looked to see Tai walking out the station with Ozpin in private. Seems he's going to do the smart thing.

"Hey, Ichika. Thanks about you know, but I don't think I'm gonna take the offer." Ruby says a with a smile.

"Huh? Why?!" Ichika grabs Ruby's shoulders and start shaking her back and forth.

"Because I don't want to go without my friend." Ruby says, causing Ichika to let go of her.

"Friend." Ichika mutters.

"Y-yeah. Unless you don't want to be—!"

"No, we're friends now!" Ichika says, interrupting Ruby and hugging her.

Ruby smiles in happiness, hugging back, before noticing me and introduces herself.

"Oh right! You're Kiyotaka right?" Ruby says. "I'm Ruby Rose, nice to meet you!"

"Nice to meet you as well." I says nodding to her before looking up at the three adults walking to us.

"Ichika Amasawa and Ruby Rose, we've decided to take you both into Beacon."

"Wait! Really!" Ruby shouts.

"Yes!" Ichika raises her fist in happiness.

Ozpin began explaining the day to come to Beacon, the bullhead to ride, materials needed and whatnot. While that was happening I nodded to Tai and he nodded back at me. Once Ozpin was done, he looked at me and gave a smile.

A person's eyes could tell a lot about them.

And his eyes contained years and years of knowledge and wisdom. I could tell.

It seems he also figured out what my motive was with Tai and how I caused Ichika to join Beacon. At least everything went according to plan.
