Arrival in another world
My name is Hajime Kaguya. I'm 24 years old, single and a humble cook living in the suburbs of Japan. If you ask me why I'm in a world like this, it's because I've been caught up in a "Hero Summoning" ritual.
I've been reading web novels to kill time, so I'm familiar enough with the trope to be sick of it, but never in my wildest dreams did I think it would actually happen.
And to think that I'm not even the hero, just collateral damage... this is no joke.
The land where this "Hero Summoning" ceremony took place was a place called the Kingdom of Melromarc. Although only four people were supposed to be summoned, five people showed up, so the elders in the room all had worried faces.
But the people who were most worried were the people who were suddenly taken to another world: that's us. I mean, they're suddenly coming up to us and calling us heroes. I already knew that it was another world because I'd read all those web novels.
To be honest, I got my hopes up a little bit because they called me "hero". But those hopes were quickly dashed... As soon as we were summoned, they immediately asked us to show them our legendary weapons. All four of them had different weapons. The tall blond guy had a nice looking spear, another guy with black hair had a sharp looking sword, the short guy had a bow and the last one had a shield.
Immediately after that, they used a magic tool to check our stats.
In the class column of our stats, everyone except me had "[Type of Weapon] Hero Lvl 1", but I was a "Victim from Another World".
Furthermore, all of their stats, such as HP and MP, were between 700 and 800, while mine were only around 100. Still, these numbers were apparently above average for this world, so I was told that I was at least somewhat powerful. But my stats clearly didn't match theirs, so that was no consolation at all.
The number of skills I had was also nothing compared to those three. Including the skills we all had, such as Appraisal and Item Box, they all had things that shocked the higher-ups who were there, such as big talent trees with skills like Holy Sword Skill or Holy Spear Skill.
On top of that, they all had multiple affinities to elemental magic like Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Lightning, and Ice.
They were the definition of overpowered. Compared to them, I only had one option.
The unique Online Supermarket skill. My immediate reaction was: No, no, what the hell kind of skill is this? I mean, I knew what an Online Supermarket was. I owed a lot to online supermarkets. But it's a skill, you know? A skill. There should be something more magical or something, right?
The people of this other world had no idea what the skill was, and the four with the legendary hero weapons laughed at me, so I was immediately branded as useless thanks to this unique talent. However, there was no doubt that I had been summoned to this world by the Hero Summoning Ritual.
The summoning ritual they used was from ancient times, and a lot of information had been lost. This was their 10th attempt. So I was able to attend the audience with the king, but what he said was very dubious.
