Chapter 6: A shit here we go again

After a few minutes of driving we've reached the patrol base. We were greeted by the medical teams of the camp to assist the wounded and to check if there are any signs of infection on us. They quarantined us by group. Me and my squad was brought inside a military tent and inside, they check our body for any visible marks like scratches and bite marks. They also checked our temperature and blood pressure. When they give us the go signal that were clear we exited the tent.

Fuck im so hungry and tired. I dont know what im going to do first, eat breakfast or sleep. Said Blade.

Well i know what im gonna do, imma eat first Boc. I said.

Yeah me too im gonna eat first before i hit the sack. Markus replied while checking his rifle and his ammo.

Yo Beast, me and Spine gonna hit the sack first were really tired. That was one hell of a night for our first mission. Said Castle.

Beast, guese im hitting the mess tent with you guys. Said Malvar.

No problem. I'll just call you if anything happens just be prepared. i said to them.

I motion to Malvar and Markus that we proceed to the mess tent, cause i was really hungry.

While we were walking, going to the mess tent i checked the time on my phone it was already 0830H. Then i saw my wallpaper again and a smile form again on my lips.

Guese i cant stop myself from smiling everytime i see her smile too. Then a feeling of worriedness fills my chest. Cant help myself from thinking how she doing rigth now is she safe, did she manage to reach a safe zone like a patrol base. Was she even home when this shit happen. She live near her but i dont see her in this base.

Then Malvar's voice woke me up in my trance of deep thoughs.

Yo MoFo you coming or what. hahaha.

Yeah, im coming psshh. I replied.

after we finish our meal me, markus and malvar headed to our tent. And saw the others already asleep. The barracks was a lil bit messy. Well i cant blame them, were all tired.

I hit my sack afterwards.

after a few hours of sleep we were woken by a voice.

Boc CO is asking for you. He need's you to report at him at once. Said Malice.

Ok Boc, thanks for informing us. i replied.

Boc wake up, CO want us to report to him right now. Let's go.

The whole squad prepared and fixed themselves. One by one we exited the tent.

Sir Lt. Beast and squad reporting as requested. I said to the CO while Saluting.

At ease Beast. Beast right? he asked while smiling.

Yes sir. i replied

Okay. he said.

alright, Beast I know You and your squad is still recovering from last night mission. but were short on men right know and you and youre squad already has an experience in dealing with the infected and by the way good job on your first mission we need you to go out there again for another mission, the other squads of your platoon has already been given a different mission. Even the Juggernaut. We need you to go and clear an incoming horde,they'll be coming from Litex as our inteligence said. For the meantime they do not pose any threat to us but we can't take our chances with those fuckers. Prepare your gear, ammo and any equipment you think that may assist you in accomplishing your mission. You'll be assisted by one of our Simba's.

Is that clear.? CO said.

Yes sir. I replied.

Alrigth heres the map, we already marked the location were the horde is right know. but it's not accurate. We need you to set up a defensive position on the Tandang sora jucntion, utilize every advantages you can find in the area. Youre going to need it. CO said.

Yes sir. i respond

After the briefing me and the squad prepared our gear again and replinish our ammos.

Okay, listen hear there is an overpass here in this junction. We can fortify it and make it as our defensive position, we can use the abandoned cars in the highway as obstacles to slow the infecteds movement. Markus i need you to deploy tripwires and explosive in the center of the highway so we dont get overwhelmed by there numbers. Malvar, I need you to take post on one of this building make sure you baracade the entrance to ensure no infected would be able to enter on your position, also deploy a line just incase you need to exit from the rooftop fast. Dont forget to clear your area some infected maybe hiding inside. Castle you go with Malvar.

Blade and Spine we take post on the over pass. Find a perfect spot on the overpass for your K3 were counting on your fire power. Markus after you set up all the explosives meet up with us on the overpass make sure all our radios are in full battery. Its our only source of communication. the Simba we'll be able to withstand those fuckers as long they dont tip it over. The .50 cal on the Simba will be our main fire power. i'll coodinate with the commander. Make sure you have everything you need for this mission, and dont forget to pray and also the basics.

the squad replied in unison, okay Boc.

Malvar added. We got this Beast, piece of cake.

After our briefing i talked to the vehicle commander of the Simba.

You chief, heres the plan. i need to look for a spot just front of the over pass were you can place your vehicle where the sides of the simba will be protected. we cant afford your vehicle being tiped over by those shit for brains. Okay chief? were relying on your armor and fire power.

the vehicle commander knoded. and i give him a thumbs up. i walked back to my squad and instructed them to mount up on the Simba. Okay boys were moving out. One by one we enter the vehicle.

After we mount up on the Simba, were back on the road again facing the unknown.

Okay squad stay cool and stay alert. well be back in no time got it? i said to my squad. they all knodded in response.

I pick up my phone inside my pocket and earphones, i put my erphones in my ears and listen to some music to relax my nerves. I played a couple of Iprevail songs, then Castle call my attention.

Hey Beast got any chewing tabacoo with you?

Yeah i got some. here. i replied and give Castle a roll of chewing tabacoo.

Since i remembered i have some in me i also took a bite and started chewing the tabacoo.

Sir, ETA 1 mike. Said by the vehicle commander.

I repeated what the vehicle commander said just to make everyone on my squad will hear it.

They all readied there rifles and themeselves.

we need to this quickly before the hored arrives. I said to my squad.

also, lessons learned we put suppressors on our rifle since those ass holes love to go wherever the party is.

when we felt the vehicle stop the vehicle commander instructed us to exit the vehicle.

when the door open we saw few infecteds and quickly eliminate them, we clear the area first before we establish our defensive position. after we clear the area, Malvar and castle quickly enter the 2nd building on our left.

I radioed them, Malvar, Castle stay close and dont rush. check the building for any survivor and hostile after you clear the building proceed on the rooftop and baricade the entrance to the rooftop we can't afford those fuckers sneaking on your back.

Dont worry Beast we got this. Malvar replied.

after i radioed Malvar and Castle I instructed Markus to deploy the explosives and trip wires and ask spine to got along with Markus for security and if in any case Markus needs some assistance.

Me and blade started baricading the stairs of the overpass. Good thing someone already baricaded the other side of the overpass so we only have to baricade 2 stair case just high enough for the infected not to be able to climbed the over pass. we lifted several objects on the entrance of the staircase like broken tables, chairs and other things we could find. even move a suv to add more obstacle on the stairs. it took us almost two hours to finish everything then Markus and spine proceeded on the overpass taking positions and getting ready for the incoming hored.

Malvar this is Beast, you already on your position? i radioed Malvar.

Negative were still clearing the last floor, we made contact with some infected but we took care of them. Malvar replied.

Okay. just make it quick we need you up there to serve as our eyes.

Copy. Malvar replied.

Simba this is Beast, are you already in your position?

Were in position, any info if the hored is anyhwere near us now. The vehicle commander asked.

not yet, our marksman is still on his way to the rooftop. i replied.

Copy. Simba's out.

Beast, were already on the rooftop. castle already baricaded the door and now putting the ropes for quick exit. over.

Copy Malvar, do you have eyes on the hored. i asked

Negative but i can see some zecks shuffling 300 meters from our position. Malvar replied.
