So so Surprising

Mrs Priscilla Smith POV

I smiled broadly after I was able to convince my son about going on with the idea of a contract marriage.

Just like I expected, he was not comfortable with the Idea of a fake marriage but I am glad I convinced him. I knew that I needed to act fast before my son changed his mind. I know how hard it was to convince him and I am not ready to start another session. I decided to call Bella to abandon whatever it is that she is doing and make preparations to be in my house as early as possible. 

I picked up my phone and dialed her contact. I was glad when she picked almost immediately. 

"Hello, beautiful lady," I said to her, trying to suppress the joy in my voice. 

"hello ma, how are you doing today ma?" she asked. 

"I am doing just fine. Where are you now?" I asked her

"I am in my house trying to attend to some very important issues on my hands" she said to me 

"OK, can you do me a favor?" I asked her

"OK ma, what favor can I do for you?" she asked me 

"I have finally convinced my son to go on with the idea of a contract marriage" I said to her. 

"This is a great man," she replied. 

"I know. I know" I said, unable to hide my happiness. 

"I want you to do something very important for me and I need you to do this as soon as possible." I continued. 

"OK ma" she replied. 

"I want to introduce you to my son as the lady I found for the contract marriage. I believe that you know how important this is to me. I have struggled so much in a bid to make my son, Kelvin agree to this plan. Please I need to leave whatever it is that you are doing and come to my house. I will be expecting you by evening tomorrow" I said to her. 

"OK ma, I will try my best to see to it that I come over to your place tomorrow and make this work" she replied. 

"please do" I said to her. 

"OK ma'am. Thank you" she said before hanging up. 

I was so happy with the new development. Things are beginning to move the way I anticipated. I am finally happy for my son because I am sure that he will eventually come to love Bellaand turn their contract marriage into a real marriage filled with bliss and all the good things of life. I was ready to do all it will take to make it happen.

I sat down recounting all the things that have happened to me in the last few years. Things have truly changed in my family. 

Life has taken some unexpected twists and turns that I cannot explain. It seems the only person that has not been affected by this is my son, Kelvin. 

I can remember his experience with the first girl he dated. He loved this girl so much that we thought they would eventually get married. We never knew that things were about to change all too soon. 

I can still remember when he came back home so weak as if he had been knocked down by a moving vehicle. I could not ignore the pain I felt when he told us that the girl he so much loved decided to put an end to their relationship. 

We were all afraid that this would result in his death because of the way he loved this lady. 

Well, he did not die a physical death but his heart died to the point where he was beyond Redemption. 

We tried hard to restore him back to his old self but life has chosen to be cruel to my only son.

There was very little I could do about it but I still believe that there is a way I can bring back the life and energy in my son. This is why I made sure I convinced him about the idea of a fake marriage hoping that he will eventually find a reason to love again. 

I was still lost in thought when I received a call. I picked up my phone and beheld the person I have been thinking about for the whole day was the one calling. 

"Hello, Bella. How are you doing today?" I asked Bellawhen I picked up the call. 

"I am fine ma'am" she replied. 

"that is good to know" I replied 

"ma, I am currently at your gate" she said. 

"you said what!" I asked truly happy with the news

"I am at your gate ma" she replied. 

"OK… Ok I will instruct the security to let you in" I said to her quickly picking up my house line to call the security. 

"OK ma" she said, ending the call immediately. 

"Hello, please let the lady at the gate in. She is our guest" I said to the security over the phone. 

"OK madam" the security guard replied before hanging up the phone. 

I hurriedly stood up to dress and prepare myself to welcome my guest and soon to be daughter in law. 

I came out to the living room and there she was looking so beautiful that I wondered why no man has married her even with how beautiful she looks. I am sure that Kelvin will find it difficult to resist such a beautiful damsel. 

"Hey Bella. Welcome to my home. I am glad you made it to my house this quick" I said to her 

"I had to leave immediately you called me yesterday so that I would be able to meet up as we agreed earlier" she said to me. 

"I am so sure that my son, Kelvin would be glad to see you" I said to her. 

"I hope so ma" she said to me.
