Time for action

The Hut was surrounded by hounds . These wild dogs are big enough to bite through human bones . Although the old men covered up the soup the hounds could still smell it . They were approaching close . Zet thought' I should go out kill the dog's or chase them away but I don't know how many of them are there . What if I go out and they attack these old men . It woul be trouble . The best option for me is to guard the huts gate . Then I can fight them off and can simultaneously save the old men.'

Zet concentrated he could hear them growling there were 3 no 4 of them . With my speed I can handle 2 at a time thought Zet . As the dogs came close enough an old man said " Its my turn , you guys should live on . Cherish your life young man " .

It was dark nobody was able to see anything . Old man got up and walked out of the Hut . Zet thought well change in plans I can't let this old man die.

The old man was running as fast as he can so that he could sway the hounds away from the Hut . Hounds were fast . One of them was just jumped on the old man. But Zet was faster . He gave a punch right on the stomach of the hound and it flew off to a distance .

" One down 3 more to go" zet thought. The old man fell down and was too tiered to run anymore .Zet stood in his close vicinity . The Old man was waiting for his death, closed his eyes and laid on the ground . He had no idea what was going on in his surrounding .

In the same time Zet was trying to guess the positions of the hounds . Although he was fast but he can't handle wild hounds in packs . He was very fast for humans but these were hounds, they are fast too and their movement is hard to predict .

As Zet was thinking strategies but he didn't had time for that ,the hound he had punched got up again . The hounds were strong .

A Hound came running from his right and jumped . Zet tried to punch him but his timing was off he swayed his hand first and the hound bite him . He grabbed it's neck from his left hand and threw it on the ground . Just then two hounds bite his legs and started pulling him ,he fell down . He covered his neck with his hands to avoid damage to his neck. Amid this chaos his heart was beating fast , faster than any normal human his hormone were at a surge . His concentration at max and ears sharpened . He could hear them , their growling , their nails scratch on grounds ,their heart beats . Two were at his legs one rising from ground one charging from front.

He flipped his body like a crocodile , the two hounds biting his leg got thrown to

A distance with once of flesh from his legs . He remained calm as one hound approached towards his head .In an instance he grabbed the hounds neck from below and squeezed it hard to crush it's larynx .It couldn't even make a sound

He then twisted its head 360 degrees . Then the other hound was approached from his right and jumped . He tore its stomach using his hands . Hounds have muscular structure but their abdomen are generally weak and Zet use this as an advantage

Two more were left , they charged together . Zet cought one fromn mouth and tore apart it's jaw . The other hound was biting his elbow at that time . He turned , flipped and bite on the hounds neck tearing apart its flesh . He then spit blood from his mouth.

All hounds dead and zet gravely injured . The old man was lying still on ground it has been 2 minutes nothing was happening to him . As he could't hear hounds growling he got up , and went inside the Hut all the old men got relifed after hearing his voice. They lighted the lamps again cherishing that the hounds were gone but got surprised as they could'nt find Zet there .

At that time Zets body was healing . He could barely walk thus he crawled to the Hut . The old men quickly arranged things for his injuries and got him a place to rest . Zet laid down as they were thanking him .

Old lady :-" we never had thought that a stranger like you would save our lives , we can never repay you"

Another old man:- " we are glad that you are alive ,it was insane to fight against those dogs . But how did you fight against them all alone ?"

Zet smiled and said " well guess today was a lucky day for me "

They didn't want to bother zet so they didn't asked anymore questions . That night was one of the greatest unexpected night of all.

As they were sipping down the soup the old men began their stories of past experiences.

Zet :- " I thought you guys don't talk at dinner time "

Old man:- " todays an exception , so we will start from how we ended up here

.It happened 10 years ago ,the crime was at it's peak we used to stay in old age homes . One day they suddenly told us to evacuate, they didn't want us to waste their food stock . So we got on bus and we were driving when the overbridge coolapsed and we ended up here under ground " " most of us died on that accident the remaining of us stayed here .We had few rations at the beginning and we used to steal some from the food trains that pass through here . Now we have grown too old for that . We grow mushrooms here different kind of them , we gather salt from the roof and so goes our lives "

Zet :- " so , why do you hate the fishkers so much ?"

Old man :- " That day when our bus fell down we call to them but they didn't wanted to waste their precious time for us . But that's not the main reason .I had a bad personal experience , so in my mid 30s I used to live with my small family we were not rich but had enough to live a simple life . One day we were travelling under ground and there was a pipe leak . Natural gas was getting expelled from that pipe we were surrounded by narrow pathways . I called fishkers but they said I'm not a vip member so they can't give my problems priority . My daughter lit up a match stick by miustake and 'kaboom' . My daughter and wife got severe burns I and I was in no possible conditions to help them . After few hours the underground workers helped me out but my wife and daughter were dead "

Zet :-" that's sad , I had no idea things like this are ignored by the organizations "

Another old man:- "The organizations is formed by rich people. They give donation . So it's normal for them to value for their lives more . But then again one day these organizations members came here , they were passing buy and saw us old men .

They wanted to enjoy their time torturing us , they began beating us for fun they chased us till we fell and laughed at us as we struggled to get back up . We lost one of our friends in one such situation."

Etoh continue to rest as the old men were telling stories one after one ,they were mixed with pain and resentment .

It has been two days and Kraken is conducting his experiments continuously . 10 people have been dead. Cesar is still pushing them to carry on the experiments . The people are intentionally given exposure to the virus and then given high doses of serum ,but no one has survived till now .

Doctor(name - Nova) was getting terrified after seeing those deaths but she can't deny to help Cesar .

Caesar:- " I don't care for the losses , keep the experiments going on "

"Next group" called Kraken and 10 new people were bought in with chains by the guards .

Cesar left the room .

Nova with shiverness in her voice said " we should stop this massacre "

Kraken :- If you really want me to stop then suggest me an alternate way .

Nova :- what if we administer low serum doses first then give them slow exposure to the viruses . Moreover we should try these experiment with someone with good physical ability .

Kraken : - "well I guess we have to focus on quality now rather than quantity"

*(somewhere in a hospital room )

Caesar entered carefully inside the room . A patient was lying on bed . Cesar had Tulip flowers in his hands . He put them inside the vase and removed the older ones. He then picked up a file that was on the table, it had Zet's name on it,

He gave an angry look and muttered "just you wait , i'm coming for your head".

He put the file aside and looked at the patients condition . The patient seemed to be a female . Cesar took a chair and sat beside her and began speaking " I don't know if you can hear me or not daughter but as always I will tell you my experiences . Today your papa made a bit more progress , he is still trying to punish those culprits due to whom you are in this condition . Very soon your papa will catch them and will also find vaccine for the virus. Till then you rest assured ."

After speaking Caesar got up and called the doctor for the daily reports , he gave a glare to the doctor and went away.

Zet slept listening to the stories . The old men were having fun , this was their first time talking to someone young after so many years. They shared their experiences and sorrows with gratitude .

Zet woke up in the morning his wounds were healed completely and he was stronger than before . He now had the ability of sharp sense . He could hear minute sounds and his fighting style was more precise .

Zet saw the faces of old men sleeping they seemed as if they were smiling after a decade . Zet was packing his bag , he left more than half of his rations in the hut. As he was going out an Old lady woke and spoke" don't leave now we haven't repaid you for your kindness "

Zet:- " well I got things to do and have answers to find , I'm so uncertain about everything . I can't remain here for longer "

Old lady:-" if you will see life closely we have only one task to do and that is to survive now it depends upon us how we want to live ,uncertainty will always be there and that's what makes life interesting . Son , always remember what matters most is happiness and it comes from people not from revenge , hatered , power etc.

It's fine if you want to leave but we can still teach you a lesson or two .

Zet:- "ohk, fine I will leave tomorrow "…
