chapter 5: border skirmish

When everything was prepared, Sakura rent a horse from the stable and when to the kingdom's border.

To go to the orc tribe. She has to go to the border in the west and entered forest of giant trees.

This place was a special place for monsters who roam and made a territory in the forest.

It was also the perfect place for other illegal things such as smuggling and human trafficking.

Moreover, she also heard a small information to the border.

The enemy kingdom or rather, the noble from the opposite side made a small skirmish.

Most nobles made small skirmish to take their small territory or even. Kill the opposite opponent to loot the other territory.

It didn't matter if the king heards it since they didn't occupied it but rather. They only steal and looted the opposite side.

For NPC it's a barbaric while for players. It's a paradise to increase their exp. And if they got lucky.

They'll take the enemy's weapons and items.

Upon arriving the boarder. The skirmish already started.

Two groups from each opposite side got few people but none of them are knights. Each person armed with sword and a leather armor while some even have a proper armor, but what's more interesting was this people are peasant.

That's right, peasant fight peasant since the nobles in each county didn't use their actual soldiers fearing it will opposite opponent ambush them.

"Tsk, lowlife."

Sakura wasn't a fan of using peasant as sacrifice pawn to take the on the opponent.

Moreover, most peasant wasn't an actual soldiers but farmers and obviously. They don't fight properly.

Both formation and tactics was no different from a children's play, and some the peasant didn't even trying to hurt the other.

Although it wasn't a disgusting fight. The peasants are not the only one in the battle.

Sakura saw some players in the battle. Each players has a symbol of guild in their chest but what's surprising was this guilds are no ordinary.

"So the raven and fist guild are here."

Raven guild was a powerful guild in conquest online, although they are not on the top 10 list. They got numbers on their side.

While the fist guild are different.

Unlike the ravens, the fist guild has powerful skills and items as a rewards from conquering dungeons. They also took quest from nobles and they are in top 14th rank.

Even though the fist guild and raven are fighting each other, this doesn't makes her happy.

The reason was the fist guild hates the Shinjuku's lion guild.

They fought and duel the Shinjuku for items everytime the guilds called for emergency quest.

As the result, the two guilds fight each other everytime the members meet and Sakura always drag to that fight.

"Haaa..... Those troublesome guild members will surely won't let me go after I humiliate their guild master. Should I take a detour?"

As she tried to think possible ways. The ground suddenly shake.

This makes the two groups stop and look at the ground. Although it wasn't strong. They can feel the ground was shaking.

Little by little. The ground was getting stronger. Until they saw the wave of people coming out from the forest.

The third party was wearing nothing but they all saw that the other party have pack of muscles and scars on their bodies.

"Barbarians?!"

"Fuck, why are they doing here?!"

"Quickly regroup!"

Looking at the endless wave of barbarians. This makes Sakura to frown.

Barbarians are even worst than orc. They plunder everything and even took the women and drag somewhere else.

It's unknown where they take them but Sakura already has a hunch.

"Go?! Kill everyone?!"

A man who has a animal skin in his shoulder was the leader of the group.

He was tall with a messy hair and he was holding a huge sword in one hand. But what's interesting about him was his scars.

Each scars was large and it covers almost every part of his body.

Looking at this scene. A notification pops out.

*[Ting]*

[Sudden quest:

A group of barbarians joined the fight and when there goal is done. They will go to the city to cause chaos.

Mission: defeat and kill the leader of the barbarian.

Reward: 30 gold coins and increase of reputation from each nobles ]

Looking at the rewards. Sakura glance at the guild.

Each guild became happy and some even shouted.

The reason for this was the reputation.

It was a game changer for the game that could help players in game. More over everytime they increase their reputation.

They received a exclusive quest from the nobles, like Sakura just took and even decreased the items they buy from npc if they have high reputation.

Moreover, increasing the reputation was difficult and the only way they increase it was if the noble was in danger or the city was in deep trouble.

As the peasant was starting to run for their lives. The soldiers and the players was starting to engaged the barbarians.

Although Sakura really wants to fight. She isn't stupid about it. The reason was the leader of the barbarian itself.

Except for the name, all of his status are unknown causing her to frown.

What's worst is the soldiers and players was having a hard time suppressing the barbarians.

Each barbarian was strong to the point it became 1 vs 3 and the barbarian wins that fight.

Even if the killed a barbarian. Another pops out for the kill causing the front line turned into Chaos.

Looking at the situation, Sakura couldn't help but sigh and said.

"I guess I have no choice but to go detour."

As she prepared to leave, the barbarian leader suddenly roar.

[Taunting skill is activate]

"What?!"

Looking at the notification, Sakura's horse suddenly charge towards the battlefield. Moreover, she couldn't even use her teleportation scroll as her body didn't listen.

Dammit this bastard won't stop.

Looking at the group of barbarians. Sakura couldn't help but gritted it's teeth.

"Dammit, looks like I don't have a choice?!"

Sakura took the long lance from her storage space and point it on front.

Since she couldn't escape it. She decided to use her spear and when for the kill.

Bam.

The poor barbarian was stabbed in the chest and impaled the second one.

When the taunt duration stops. Sakura jump to her horse as she let go the spear which the two was impaled.

The reason for this was simple.

The barbarian leader as already in front of the horse and beheaded it with his giant sword.

"Blink?!"

As Sakura create a distance between her and the barbarian. Her sense scream at her dodge and avoid the other barbarian's attack.

Sakura glared at the barbarian who swing his sword at her and took her sword.

"Blink strike?!"

Bam!

When Sakura vanish and appeared in the back. She then activated the crescent blade and cut the barbarian in half.

Looking at the situation, the other barbarians attack her from behind but Sakura block it with her sword and send flying in the air.

Noticing the other barbarian was waiting for her. She then use blink strike to the other opponent and cut him at the neck.

Sakura keep looking at the barbarians in each direction.

They are like ants that swarming her and she knew that she will be killed at this rate.

On the other hand, both soldiers and players was keep reducing leaving some of the strong players left.

As she gritted her teeth. She decided to attack the barbarian leader using hit and run tactics.

[You dealed 0.2% damage]

[You dealed 0.5% damage]

Everytime she attack, the damage she gave didn't even increase in 1% of attack.

This makes her to irritated more. But looking at the situation. She knew that the nobles will be killed at this rate.

"Dammit?! Looks like I have use the skill?!"

When the huge sword was nearly hit her. She look at her enemy and shouted.

"Dragon transformation?!"

Boom.

Suddenly a tall dragon show up in the battle causing some of the barbarians to be surprised.

Although she knew that the nobles was also surprised. It didn't matter to her as she active the other skill.

"Dragon's eyes?!"

When her eyes suddenly turned gold. Multiple of her enemies starting to felt fear. Even the players start shaking.

Although they reduced 50% of their status, it didn't stop them and attack.

Upon swinging her tail. Most of the barbarians was send flying including the leader.

Looking at the multiple notification. Sakura knew that the damage she dealed with the barbarian leader isn't high. And her prediction soon revealed.

[You dealed 3% damage]

As she clicking her tongue. The barbarian leader stood up like it was nothing and charge towards her.

Looking at the barbarian in front of her. He then suddenly increase his speed causing her to surprised.

"Dragon's breath?!"

Upon releasing the huge fire ball. The barbarian leader dodge it effortlessly and appeared in front of her.

Bang?!

"Ugh?!"

As she scream in pain. The barbaria leader didn't stop as he tried to attack the second time.

"Invincible?!"

Boom?!

[You received 0% damage]

[You're mana reduced in 30%]

Glaring at the barbarian leader. Sakura fired another 3 fire ball causing the other unlucky barbarian to scream in pain. But the barbarian leader dodge those attack.

Even so, she then activated the other skill.

"Blink strike?!"

When she apparently in the barbarians back. She then activated 2 of her best skill the accelerate and coup de grace. causing the barbarian leader to scream in pain.

Although it's low, Sakura isn't done and she opened her mouth in point blank range.

"Dragon's breath?!"

Bang!

[Additional 3% burn]

[Enemies decreased movement by 5%]

Upon activating the dragon's eyes. Sakura attack him with his claws but unexpected happened.

[Dragon's transformation is over]

When the heard this. Sakura returned to her usual self. And instead of the claws. It was replaced with a sword and landed in the barbarians leader's head.

[You dealed 0.10% damage]

"Dammit?!"

As she quickly activate her blink skill. The barbarian sneer at her and change his direction.

This makes her to gritted her teeth as the other barbarian to attack her from behind. Meanwhile the leader of the barbarian might be sneering Sakura but in reality he so piss.

He never expecting that the weak look enemy who fought him made a scratch on his body.

Although he let him go, it didn't mean entirely. What he wants was to kill the others and he save him as the last fight.

Sakura knew what he was thinking after he left her. But of course. Arrogance has a price.

Since he already left her to dealed with the other players. She decided to use the item which she cherish.

The item she took was a bell but it's no ordinary.

[Bell of wild

This mysterious bell was owned by the powerful warlock. It can summoned 1 random monster below level 300.

Note: when the monster called. They will kill anything even the user if there level is lower than the user, so use it wisely.

When Sakura rang the bell. The ground suddenly shake as the fight stop.

They didn't know what happened or what's going on but the ground keep increasing, then suddenly. The ground crack like a spiderweb and a creature came out from the ground.

Roooaarrr?!

A 50 meter tall worm roar in anger causing many people to be surprised.

This worm was called the ground eater because of their sharp teeth that use to destroyed the ground. Although they are not a threat under the ground. They are aggressive to the point they will eat anything they saw in the upper ground.

When the barbarian saw this. He too frown and look at the large beast.

This makes everyone to turned panic as the beast launch himself to group of barbarians and opened it's jaw.

Bam!

Screams of pain, anger and despaired echos to the ground as the worm bulldozed everything in it's path like a train.

It didn't matter who is a friend or foe as the worm keep eating the unlucky ones.

The barbarian leader who saw this gritted it's teeth and charge the income monster.

He then jump so high and swing his axe to the monster's head making it clang noise.

Most of the worms head was more thicker that it's body due to it's environment.

Instead of scream in pain. The worm felt nothing and it launch itself to eat the barbarian leader.

The barbarian leader dodge the monster but the poor barbarian in his back was eaten alive.

This makes the barbarian to scream in anger as he tried to figure it out on how to kill the monster.
