Conqueror of Magic

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Read on mobile device for best experience. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Having lost his parents at a young age and not having access to a home since it had burned to the ground after a sudden outburst of flames, Arthur was taken in by the council of sorcery. Not because they had felt sympathy for him but simply due to the fact that even though his parents had been burned to ashes, Arthur did not even have a single scratch on his body. Now intrigued by the boy, the council of sorcery sent their most obedient servant; the one they call “the inspector” to relocate Arthur into a prestigious school so that his strength could bloom so that they could have a powerful ally in the future. Even so, the council of sorcery commanded that the school treated him like trash. This was because Arthur’s parents were quite powerful in their prime and as such were sought after by the council of sorcery. Even though it was an amazing offer for Arthur’s parents, they refused which invoked the long lasting rage of the council of sorcery. In a world full of factions that try to sway the tides of power to their own side, Arthur must now learn how to grow strong so he could finally find the person who had killed his parents and get revenge for the years of torment that the council of sorcery had put him through. Although he just might get quite a bit more than he bargained for. —————————————————————————————————————————— Note: This story will be quite long since there are a lot of things that need to be covered in the story. Sadly though, I’m fueled by compliments so the more people that enjoy this novel, the more I can write. Schedule plan for this novel is 2 chapters a day, 1000+ words each or if does quite well, it will be moved up to 3 chapters a day (same number of words each). —————————————————————————————————————————— Hope you enjoy this novel though, happy reading.

The 11th Tier of Magic

"Wait what?! There's an 11th tier to magic?!" Arthur yelled out before quickly shutting his mouth so that the people in the cafe couldn't hear him.

"Don't worry, I placed a silencing spell right when we got here so no one can eavesdrop on our conversation. Anyway, you're right, there is an 11th tier to magical spells although no one except a select few people know about it. Well, to be honest, there are 20 tiers in total. The first 10 are the ones that are widely available to the public with most people learning only up to the 5th tier. I wouldn't have told you about the 11th tier along with the rest of them if you were anyone else but your talent for quickly acquiring magical spells is quite impressive if I do say so myself. However maybe I overestimated your capabilities," said the inspector which made Arthur raise an eye brow as he didn't understand what more could have been expected of him.

"What do you mean?" Arthur said in his head and even before Arthur could even say those words out loud, the inspector began to reply to that question.

"Well, for starters, the only impressive thing about you is your photographic memory. Using it, you can hold on to a spell in your head forever and make full use of it which is quite helpful and very impressive indeed. However you're lacking in many departments such as your base speed, strength, durability, intelligence as well as any other aspect of the human body. For the past 3 years, you've memorized every single spell in the library at your school however you can barely make use of them since you don't have the stamina to sustain them for long periods of time which was shown during the genius magic competition where you used a tier 10 spell and impressed everyone however you were barely able to make it back to your dorm from draining yourself. You're like a glass cannon. Although you can fire a cannon ball which is devastating, you break after that cannon ball has been fired. Right now, you're just living talent. However with the right training and hard work put in…" the inspector said before grinning as he imagined the monster he would be able to create by moulding Arthur.

"Look," said the inspector as he calmed himself and continued to explain to Arthur.

"I can train you to become the absolute strongest. Once you attain the rank of the undisputed number 1 sorcerer, no one will ever look down upon you. You won't have to rely on magic to create food. You won't have to cry every night regretting the day you were born. You'll finally be a normal human being," said the inspector as he offered Arthur a dream-like life.

"However if you want all this to happen, I need you to be willing to work until you break. I'll allow you to rest only once you've been broken so that your body will be able to rebuild itself just so that you can break your limits over and over again. I won't lie to you and tell you that your training days will be easy, however you will appreciate all of it when you're able to reap the rewards of all your effort. So what do you say Arthur?" the inspector asked Arthur to which Arthur smiled.

"It's not like I have anything to lose," said Arthur before shaking the inspector's hand.

Right after the two shook hands, the two teleported on top of a tall tower inside the city where Arthur's school was. Since it was a boarding school and Arthur didn't have a home to go to during the summer time, it was the first time in his life where he was able to see the city.

Seeing Arthur's eyes widen with excitement, the inspector knew why Arthur was so over joyed even though he was just looking at a plain city.

"You know, I had brought you here because I was going to ask you to show me if you were able to output a spell so strong that it would destroy this city but it seems like you want the people at your school to live. Although you wish for them to live just so you can kill them when they're stronger, it's a bit generous of you to even let them live just a while longer," said the inspector before once again using a spell to teleport the two of them to another city.

"So-" the inspector began to speak before he was interrupted by Arthur as he knew what he needed to do.

"Tier 8 Spell: Stack Spells"

"Sub-Spell: Tier 4: Ice Bloom"

"Sub-Spell: Tier 4: Magma Overflow"

"Sub-Spell: Tier 10: Tier Augmentation"

"Sub-Spell: Augmented Tier 10 Spell: Ice Bloom"

"Sub-Spell: Augmented Tier 10 Spell: Magma Overflow"

By using his tier 8 spell, Arthur could combine multiple spells at once to create a massive and devastating spell which he needed is he wanted to accomplish the task that the inspector wanted him to.

Using 6 large magic circles which appeared in the air, Arthur was able to create a large ball of pure magic that floated in the air as it covered a large section of the city as if it was a meteor.

Using his palm, Arthur raised the ball of magic high in the air before bringing it down towards the ground at a speed that was not imaginable. All while this took place, the people inside the city tried to flee for their lives which was pointless as this took place in the matter of minutes and they couldn't travel out of the city in such a short amount of time.

*Crash*

As if in slow motion, the ball of magic began to slowly blend together with the ground before it reached the half way point of the ball of magic to which it couldn't handle the pressure any longer and the ball exploded and let out its destructive power. In just a matter of minutes, the entire city was completely destroyed. Arthur had over done it and made sure that every last person in the city was killed.

Although both Arthur and the inspector were unharmed since the inspector created a force field shield to protect them, that wasn't the inspector's main concern.

His real concern was why Arthur felt no remorse after taking so many lives all at once and why he didn't hesitate at all to do so.
