Conqueror of Magic

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Read on mobile device for best experience. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Having lost his parents at a young age and not having access to a home since it had burned to the ground after a sudden outburst of flames, Arthur was taken in by the council of sorcery. Not because they had felt sympathy for him but simply due to the fact that even though his parents had been burned to ashes, Arthur did not even have a single scratch on his body. Now intrigued by the boy, the council of sorcery sent their most obedient servant; the one they call “the inspector” to relocate Arthur into a prestigious school so that his strength could bloom so that they could have a powerful ally in the future. Even so, the council of sorcery commanded that the school treated him like trash. This was because Arthur’s parents were quite powerful in their prime and as such were sought after by the council of sorcery. Even though it was an amazing offer for Arthur’s parents, they refused which invoked the long lasting rage of the council of sorcery. In a world full of factions that try to sway the tides of power to their own side, Arthur must now learn how to grow strong so he could finally find the person who had killed his parents and get revenge for the years of torment that the council of sorcery had put him through. Although he just might get quite a bit more than he bargained for. —————————————————————————————————————————— Note: This story will be quite long since there are a lot of things that need to be covered in the story. Sadly though, I’m fueled by compliments so the more people that enjoy this novel, the more I can write. Schedule plan for this novel is 2 chapters a day, 1000+ words each or if does quite well, it will be moved up to 3 chapters a day (same number of words each). —————————————————————————————————————————— Hope you enjoy this novel though, happy reading.

Speed Training

Once Yosel was finished explaining how the treadmill worked, he activated the machine to which Arthur began to run. Slowly but surely the speed increased until Arthur was running at his maximum speed. By this point Arthur could barely breathe however, he was lucky in that the machine began to slow down as it was designed to fit with the optimal running speed of the user so that it wouldn't drain the user of all their energy and instead would slowly build them up to reach their maximum potential.

Arthur used the machine for just about an hour before he was ready to give up and take a break. Even so, when he turned towards Yosel, his teacher gave him a look that indicated that he wanted Arthur to train a whole lot more to which Arthur agreed and continued to run as he believed that Yosel wanted the best for him.

Although he still had distrust in his heart, Arthur continued to do as he was told. This was partially due to him being treated like utter trash all his life and believing that he has no right to argue but by this point, Arthur felt like he was special. With all the training that he was doing, he was starting to get more powerful. The work he put in not only made him feel more confident in himself but also allowed him to become happier which was caused by a chemical reaction in his brain that was activated when he trained.

Although Arthur didn't completely trust Yosel, there was a reason he was still by his side. It was because he believed that if Yosel was ever to attack him, the demon inside him would activate and defeat Yosel or probably kill him which meant that he had no reason to worry. Although their first meeting was full of surprises, the demon now knew everything in Yosel's arsenal. On the other hand though, Yosel did not know everything in the demon's arsenal, and even if he did, there was really nothing Yosel could do against a tier 100 spell.

At some point, Arthur began to get comfortable yet tired. As such, he continued to run but with his eyes closed.

Meanwhile, Yosel trusted Arthur as he had trusted him previously when he instructed him to train with the weighted clothing without experiencing any issues. Therefore Yosel began to walk away towards his home on the island. Meanwhile, Arthur began to dream while running unconsciously.

"Where am I?" Arthur questioned himself before he began to hear a familiar laugh.

"So you know what took place that day. What are you going to do about it? Do you resent me? Do you wish I was dead?" the figure said as he began to laugh with a sinister grin on his face.

"Huh? No. Why would I hate you? You're my trump card," Arthur said before smirking at the demon as he had asked quite the stupid question.

"Huh? Why aren't you scared? You're supposed to hate me!" the demon yelled back.

"Umm, no. Right now I hate Yosel. He's literally the one who tried to kill me. On the other hand, if you didn't kill my parents and I wasn't treated like trash, I would not have memorised so many spells. Without you, my body wouldn't have adjusted to all these new training regiments. If it wasn't for you, I would have died. You're the one who's saving my life while Yosel is trying to kill me," Arthur said while laughing which left the demon speechless.

However after a couple moments, the demon began to laugh as well.

"I like you kid, you'll make a good host. I'll leave you alone for now. Show me what you're made of," said the demon before forcing Arthur to awaken from his slumber while still running.

This continued for what seemed to be only a day however this thought was debunked when Yosel came towards Arthur one odd day and was surprised to find Arthur still running on the treadmill.

"Hey Arthur…" said Yosel to which Arthur gave a head nod to Yosel as a greeting.

"Hey, what's wrong? Your face seems a bit pale," said Arthur to which Yosel seemed to be concerned.

"Have you taken any breaks since the last time we talked?" Yosel asked, to which Arthur seemed confused.

"Why would I take a break? There's no need for me to rest. It's barely been a couple hours," said Arthur to which Yosel stayed quiet for a couple seconds before responding.

"I don't think you understand. You know it's been over a month since you first stepped on the treadmill… right? Your sense of time is really bad you know," said Yosel to which Arthur just let out an awkward laugh.

"Oh ya, sorry about that. I spent my entire life in a basement with no windows so I can never tell what time it is. The only day which I know the time on is when someone from the school notified me a day before the genius magic competition took place so that would be prepared to count the seconds until my time was ready to leave for the event," Arthur explained to which Yosel stayed silent as he realised that it was his fault that Arthur didn't have a sense of time.

"Ya, I guess that makes sense," said Yosel as he tried to change the subject quickly before he felt even more guilty than he already did.

"So can I get off of this thing now?" Arthur asked to which Yosel agreed and stopped the treadmill so that Arthur could get off the machine. Right after that, he gave Arthur a new pair of clothes that were not weighted and then began to speak.

"These aren't weighted clothes so you must know that the next part of your training is resting. You need to get a break every once in a while so that your body can recover. Do you have anything you want to do during this time instead of standing still for a while?" Yosel asked Arthur to which Arthur had a sinister smile across his face as he remembered something that he had always wanted to do.

"Can I go back to my school? I would like to attend it one more time," said Arthur with a sinister smirk.
