----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Read on mobile device for best experience. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Having lost his parents at a young age and not having access to a home since it had burned to the ground after a sudden outburst of flames, Arthur was taken in by the council of sorcery. Not because they had felt sympathy for him but simply due to the fact that even though his parents had been burned to ashes, Arthur did not even have a single scratch on his body. Now intrigued by the boy, the council of sorcery sent their most obedient servant; the one they call “the inspector” to relocate Arthur into a prestigious school so that his strength could bloom so that they could have a powerful ally in the future. Even so, the council of sorcery commanded that the school treated him like trash. This was because Arthur’s parents were quite powerful in their prime and as such were sought after by the council of sorcery. Even though it was an amazing offer for Arthur’s parents, they refused which invoked the long lasting rage of the council of sorcery. In a world full of factions that try to sway the tides of power to their own side, Arthur must now learn how to grow strong so he could finally find the person who had killed his parents and get revenge for the years of torment that the council of sorcery had put him through. Although he just might get quite a bit more than he bargained for. —————————————————————————————————————————— Note: This story will be quite long since there are a lot of things that need to be covered in the story. "Wow! Looks like a real convenience store! I finally found it," said Arthur as he began to walk towards the store with a big smile on his face as he would soon get to experience something which he had wanted for so long. That being to purchase something from a convenience store. That being and ice cream popsicle. Due to him never actually getting to experience much of the world, this was Arthur's first time going to a modern store.
…
As Arthur walked in, he was greated by the sound of a bell which startled him however he soon realized that it was a mechanism connected to the door which activated when someone entered the store.
Although Arthur was nervous, he began to walk around the store in search of what he was looking for. However as time passed, he got distracted as he looked at all the drinks and snacks that were in there. He wanted to try everything and for quite a while, he simply walked around the store with his widened eyes.
"Ummm, can I help you?" someone said and as Arthur turned to his side, he saw some man a bit taller than him that was wearing an apron of some kind. Seeing him, Arthur recognized him to be the cashier. When Arthur was brought back into reality, he remembered what he needed to buy.
"Sorry, I was just wondering if you sold ice cream popsicles," Arthur said in a nervous tone as he wasn't sure if they sold the item he was looking for.
"Follow me," the man said as he took Arthur towards the very front of the store's door where beside it was a fridge of sorts that had a clear glass window that covered the items inside the fridge. Inside of it were a verity of different frozen snacks. One of them being the ice cream popsicle that he was looking for.
"Wow, I can't believe I missed it," said Arthur in an embarrassed tone.
"No worries. You're probably just tired since it's night time. I mean you're acting like you've never been to a convenience store in your life," said the man to which Arthur let out an awkward giggle before he followed the man to the counter of the store so he could pay for what he needed to buy.
"Wow, did I seriously make it that obvious," said Arthur to himself before reaching into his pockets to grab 1 gold coin which was the price of the ice cream popsicle. Once he had paid, Arthur began to slowly open the wrapping on the ice cream popsicle with amazement in his eyes. However the moment he opened the door of the store and took a step out so that he could leave, a hand smacked his ice cream away and caused it to fall on the ground as the chocolate shell of the ice cream cracked and the inside layer of it being vanilla ice cream was exposed to the ground.
…
During the next few seconds, Arthur was in utter shock as he fell to his knees in helplessness all while believing that the world had ended. As for the man that had smacked his ice cream to the ground, he was busy with his own matters.
"Hey come on, don't be like that. Let me just accompany you on your way back home and we can even go out for a date some time," said a man which looked to be in his 30s.
"Leave me alone you creep," said the woman that he was speaking to as she tried to push him away from her. She was much younger than the man and looked to be only about Arthur's age.
"Come on, I won't bite. I'm a really nice guy once you get to know me," said the man as he put out the cigarette that was in his hand on the wall of the convenience store while pinning the girl to the wall. Seeing as how she was in danger, she tried to run away however before she could get into the store, the man grabbed her by her wrist and pulled her back before slapping her on her face.
"Don't try to get smart with me. You see what you made me do? None of this would have happened if you had just obeyed me," said the man to which tears began to flow out of the girl's eyes. Even so, she didn't look scared in the least and simply stared back at the man.
"Huh? What's that look for?" the man asked before punching the girl.
"Huh? Who are you? Are you some homeless kid? Get out of here before I beat you like her," said the man as he looked at Arthur who was crying while his knees were on the ground. Seeing as how the man was talking to Arthur, Arthur turned to look at the man who was trying to converse with him.
"Why the hell are you crying? Get out of here before I give you another reason to cry!" the man said as he balled his hand into a fist and was ready to punch Arthur. However as he did that, Arthur could see chocolate on the man's hand. The same hand that had whacked Arthur's ice cream out of his hand and caused it to fall on the ground.
"You… it was your fault. It's all your fault," said Arthur as he began to mumble.
Just as he did this, the man turned his attention fully on Arthur and ignored the girl he was bothering. Seeing this, the girl forced the man to let go of her hand and began to run away as fast as she could.
"Oh I see. So you're trying to escape huh? I'll make sure to teach you to never dare disobey me ever again," said the man as he caught the girl by her wrist once more in a couple seconds and raised his fist to punch her. However right before he could land a single punch, he stopped instantly. The scent of bloodlust filled the air. Someone had full intentions to kill a human.
"You were the one who killed my ice cream," said Arthur as his eyes filled with rage.
