----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Read on mobile device for best experience. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Having lost his parents at a young age and not having access to a home since it had burned to the ground after a sudden outburst of flames, Arthur was taken in by the council of sorcery. Not because they had felt sympathy for him but simply due to the fact that even though his parents had been burned to ashes, Arthur did not even have a single scratch on his body. Now intrigued by the boy, the council of sorcery sent their most obedient servant; the one they call “the inspector” to relocate Arthur into a prestigious school so that his strength could bloom so that they could have a powerful ally in the future. Even so, the council of sorcery commanded that the school treated him like trash. This was because Arthur’s parents were quite powerful in their prime and as such were sought after by the council of sorcery. Even though it was an amazing offer for Arthur’s parents, they refused which invoked the long lasting rage of the council of sorcery. In a world full of factions that try to sway the tides of power to their own side, Arthur must now learn how to grow strong so he could finally find the person who had killed his parents and get revenge for the years of torment that the council of sorcery had put him through. Although he just might get quite a bit more than he bargained for. —————————————————————————————————————————— Note: This story will be quite long since there are a lot of things that need to be covered in the story. Sadly though, I’m fueled by compliments so the more people that enjoy this novel, the more I can write. Schedule plan for this novel is 2 chapters a day, 1000+ words each or if does quite well, it will be moved up to 3 chapters a day (same number of words each). —————————————————————————————————————————— Hope you enjoy this novel though, happy reading.
The crowd stayed silent for what seemed like ages as they tried to understand what had just taken place in front of their eyes. They simply could not comprehend what had just happened. Of course this was all a part of Arthur's plan which he had been plotting for 3 whole years but had to come to an abrupt end due to him having been offered something that he couldn't resist.
"Umm… so you're my girlfriend now right? Considering that I won this match…" Arthur asked to which the announcer replied quickly as he snapped back to reality. He knew that whatever happened, he couldn't let Arthur win. That went against every law of nature possible.
"Wrong! Arthur has been disqualified for not abiding by the rules of this competition. The announcer had not allowed the battle to begin so that goes against the rules which means that you've just assaulted one of the finest, if not the finest student in this school. The match goes to Leon," said the announcer as everyone in the crowd began to cheer like robots. However deep inside, they knew that Arthur had won.
The difficult part was that Arthur had been the unquestionable victor of the battle. If Arthur had won by only a small fraction or even a single fraction, they would have been fine with giving the victory to Leon by making random rules, however it wasn't even close this time. Arthur had completely and utterly defeated Leon. This also posed a new problem. That being that of Arthur was able to out put that much power on a consistent basis, he was a threat to the entire school.
As it happened to be, Leon was only a bit weaker than some of the teachers at that school which had been selected to teach due to them being so powerful. Someone who could easily defeat people like that was a great threat to the school and the whole world as well.
Although Arthur felt angry, he knew he couldn't do anything. He simply let out a sigh and took off the hat part of his hoodie and let his hair flow which seemed to be majestic in the sun light. Due to the performance he had just given, some of the girls began to think differently of Arthur even though it was forbidden to think of him nothing other than trash, let alone have intimate feelings towards him.
Nevertheless, Arthur began to head towards the building that he lived in so that he could shut himself in for another year. However, before he could leave the field, Leon got up from the ground and began to yell.
"Listen here Arthur! I'll make sure you pay for this! You'll get kicked out of this school and then-" Leon began to speak before being interrupted quickly as a teacher placed their palms on Leon's shoulders for grip and kneed Leon in the chest which caused him to pass out. All of the students gasped in horror but not a single teacher seemed to care. In reality, this act was done to protect Leon and not Arthur as the teacher knew that something bad could happen if Leon decided to act out. They recognized that Arthur was now a wild card of a threat and they did not know what they were dealing with at that moment so it was best to avoid confrontation.
Arthur had turned his head around to hear what Leon was planning to say however, due to that being interrupted by a teacher, Arthur turned his head once more like nothing happened and headed back to his room to get some much needed rest after being outside for more than 20 minutes.
…
After everyone had calmed down, the event went on as normal even though everyone still was having trouble processing what had just taken place. Not only was there a 4 year gap between Arthur and Leon but Arthur was thought to be nothing but a failure. All the previous years that he had come out to participate in the event, Arthur was defeated with a single punch. Although it was clearly faked, everyone believed it since they all imagined him losing in the first place. This time however, they saw something which they never imagined, not even in their wildest dreams. That was why they had so much trouble understanding what had taken place. They all just wanted to say that the event never existed and it was just a dream that everyone had. However that was not possible. There was no denying it. What they saw was reality.
…
After everyone had gone back to their dorms to rest after the long day and night had come, the principal of the school made an urgent call. He needed to inform someone about Arthur's sudden power increase. Of course the only person who needed to hear about this was the inspector that had found Arthur in the rubble of the burned house and also dropped him off at the school.
"…He did what?!" the inspector yelled out before quickly ending the call with the principal to inform his superiors about the news he had just received from the principal.
…
"No! This has to be a lie! My son could not have been so easily defeated by a worthless piece of trash like him! I put him through hours of endless training to get him to the top. I spent more money on him than even my own companies. All so that he could inherit them from me and be the perfect leader. And now you're telling me that some rat that lives in a basement defeated him?! I'll have someone killed if this is a lie," said a figure in a rather angry tone.
"Listen Curtis, there's no need to get so worked up. This is probably some made up lie. I mean after all, we've been getting yearly reports of his progress, he lost in the first round every year-" the man began to speak before quickly stopping as he had realized what was happening.
"The boy has been making fools of us! Of course he lost every single year on the first round on purpose! Even if he was weak, in a school that big with so many arrogant children, he would eventually get a win! This has all been a set up!" the man that had tried to calm Leon's father said in a panic himself.
