Conqueror of Magic

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Read on mobile device for best experience. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Having lost his parents at a young age and not having access to a home since it had burned to the ground after a sudden outburst of flames, Arthur was taken in by the council of sorcery. Not because they had felt sympathy for him but simply due to the fact that even though his parents had been burned to ashes, Arthur did not even have a single scratch on his body. Now intrigued by the boy, the council of sorcery sent their most obedient servant; the one they call “the inspector” to relocate Arthur into a prestigious school so that his strength could bloom so that they could have a powerful ally in the future. Even so, the council of sorcery commanded that the school treated him like trash. This was because Arthur’s parents were quite powerful in their prime and as such were sought after by the council of sorcery. Even though it was an amazing offer for Arthur’s parents, they refused which invoked the long lasting rage of the council of sorcery. In a world full of factions that try to sway the tides of power to their own side, Arthur must now learn how to grow strong so he could finally find the person who had killed his parents and get revenge for the years of torment that the council of sorcery had put him through. Although he just might get quite a bit more than he bargained for. —————————————————————————————————————————— Note: This story will be quite long since there are a lot of things that need to be covered in the story. Sadly though, I’m fueled by compliments so the more people that enjoy this novel, the more I can write. Schedule plan for this novel is 2 chapters a day, 1000+ words each or if does quite well, it will be moved up to 3 chapters a day (same number of words each). —————————————————————————————————————————— Hope you enjoy this novel though, happy reading.

"Relax there Arthur, there's no need for you to rush, your time will come soon," said Yosel as he saw that Arthur was close to jumping out of his seat and joining the battle himself. Hearing Yosel's voice, Arthur returned to being calm and sat back down at his seat as he waited for his turn to battle. However that wouldn't be for at least a couple hours.

Even so, Arthur was not bored for even a single second as he was able to watch fight after fight with different people who all had different fighting styles. Arthur tried to pay attention to their fighting techniques however he was too caught up on who was winning that he didn't bother to pay attention to the way each person fought.

After, so many fights which all lasted a maximum of 10 minutes and the shortest one being about 5 seconds since the battle ended with a single punch, it was Arthur's turn.

He had been called on to the stage which he was supposed to enter from the back of the colosseum however he didn't care, instead, he leaped onto the stage from his seat as he eagerly awaited to fight a strong opponent. Some people were even concerned at the bloodlust that were in his eyes.

Although Arthur expected his opponent to be some giant hardened warrior which had at least killed 10 thousand people to be his opponent, the person who was supposed to fight him was much different. In fact, he was the exact opposite of what Arthur expected.

His opponent looked to be 17 or 18 years of age and had the same arrogant look that Leon had. Arthur's opponent was covered from head to toe with golden armour which was shinning brighter than the sun. As for his weapon of choice, he carried a tall trident which he pointed directly at Arthur.

"Am I seriously going to fight this weakling?" Arthur asked in a bored voice as he turned towards the announcer which was sitting to the side of the arena. However, Arthur's opponent didn't care what Arthur had to say as he saw him as nothing but an insect. As such, he rushed towards Arthur while he was distracted and jabbed his trident right at Arthur's chest. After that, the trident's ability activated which shocked Arthur with the force of a thousand lightning bolts which forced Arthur to fall to the ground. Seeing this, Arthur's opponent pulled his trident away from Arthur and began walking away as if he had won his battle.

"Is it really over? Was a single attack all it took to defeat his opponent? What else did we expect from Luis, the one and only heir to the greatest gold mining company in the world?" the announcer said as he was getting ready to announce the winner.

However, before the announcer could say even another word, Arthur teleported right in front of Luis and punched him so hard towards the ground that the fighting arena instantly split into hundreds of parts. Full of rage, Arthur continued to punch over and over again until he had made sure to break every bone in Luis' body.

Since his opponent had his eyes closed, Arthur assumed that he had caused him to pass out and as such got up to claim his victory.

However just a moment later, Luis got up from the ground, looking more irritated than ever.

"How dare you touch my prized armour?! You're going to pay for this!" Luis said as he began to cast a spell.

"Tier 1 Spell: Equipment Link"

"Rank 10 Armour: Complete Counter"

Using his armour, Luis had absorbed all of the punches that Arthur had landed and was now ready to use those same attacks to inflict damage upon Arthur.

Due to Luis now having the strength of Arthur for at least a temporary amount of time, he instantly teleported in front of Arthur and placed his palm on Arthur's chest, right where his heart was located.

"Stop," Luis told Arthur's heart to which it did.

Arthur's eyes instantly went blank as he fell on his back as if he was dead. For a bit, Arthur was taken back to the same place that he talked to Lucifer.

"Welcome back," said Lucifer as if he was holding back a laugh.

"Did I really just die?" Arthur asked to which Lucifer looked confused.

"No, you didn't, don't worry, as long as I'm living in your body, you can't actually die. I dictate who dies so as long as I say you're allowed to live, you won't ever die," said Lucifer to which Arthur smiled.

"Hey Lucifer, when this battle is over, can you restart my heart so it beats again? I want that to be done once and only once I've been victorious in this battle," Arthur asked to which Lucifer gave a confused look.

"But you're going to lose if I don't restart your heart now," said Lucifer to which Arthur gave a grin.

In the outside world, the unconscious body of Arthur got up from the ground. Even though his skin was pale as of he was a zombie, he got up with his fist clenched and slowly put his left hand forward and took the helmet of Luis off his head. Even though he tried to resist, there was no point as Arthur didn't plan on letting go of it any time soon.

Right after Arthur removed the helmet, he didn't even let anyone let out a single breath. He moved his right fist so fast that not a single person could see it, no matter how hard they tried. To them, it looked like Arthur didn't move at all, however Arthur had actually punched Luis so hard in the jaw that it dislocated his entire face and he was forced to pass out.

Right after that, Lucifer let out a laugh before allowing Arthur's heart to beat again and allow Arthur to see one more time.

After Arthur finished his match, he went back to Yosel which had his mouth opened wide as he couldn't believe what he just saw.

"What the hell was that?" Yosel asked in a terrified voice.
