3: the big news

Aara allowed her mind to wonder off. she blamed everything on herself.

if she had payed more attention to the affairs of sultania perhaps then this would've been somebody elses problem.

During this time Aara was absentmindedly getting prepared for her first job at the 'all halal' cafe located an hour away from the apartment.

'clank!'

Aara blinked back to earth and noticed her house keys laying on the tile floor. it had fallen at her attempt to lock her place whlist not paying attention.

she blamed her self for that also.

Aara avoided running into the other inhabitants as much as possible since in their opinion young women who lived alone spelled trouble.

The bus to Al-ahdan street was packed with workers when Aara boarded it not surprisingly since it was mostly occupied with titanic company buildings.

after about 40 minutes drive the bus came to a halt and the people started pouring out one by one.

Since Aara was bearly noticed by the tall towering figures she decided to wait out until at least half of them were gone.

"salam alaikum" Aara said meekly trying to slip into the kitchen without attracting attention but failed in doing so.

She got noticed by Mrs Raya, a tall beefy woman probably in her mid thirties. "you thought you could slip away unnoticed?" she scoffed

"good morning mrs raya" Aara sighed lowering her head.

raya ignored the greeting "lets have it then. your papers?"

Aara didnt speak.

"Don't tell me you don't have it?" Sadiya laughed haughtily walking out from the kitchen as she did sadiya made sure to roll up her sleeves and flick her dyed her. "you really are such a dungbrain"

Aara avoided eye contact and moved to the lockers where she normally placed her bag.

Sadiya gawked at aara for a while longer then carried on whatever she was doing before.

"sorry I'm late" hassana strut in and placed her red hand bag on a chair. "Did you ladies hear?"
