Chapter 5 Secrets

We were sitting at the table waiting for him to join us.

"So who is Andrews mom?".

"Oh well me and your father used to all go to school together" she replied.

"Yeah we were some crazy youngins back in the day",

a mans voice came from behind us.

Andrew.

"You can say that again". My mother said with a smile.

I butted in "wait, you and dad lived here ??"

My mom was hesitant to respond.

"Yeah we did Liz".

"Yeah we all grew up here but your mom and dad..."

"Don't finish that sentence Andrew she doesn't know", My mom angrily interrupted him. Her eyes grew so big.

I don't know what? I thought to myself. What is my mom trying to hide from me?

So I looked at her and asked

"What don't I know mom?"

"Don't worry about it right now Elizabeth it doesn't matter", she scolded.

I wasn't gonna argue anymore with her because she gets scary when she gets pissed off.

"Sorry El, I guess you got your wish" Andrew said to my mom.

Wish?

"I DID. Now I think this was a mistake talking to you again Andrew I'm sorry but we must get going now" my mom said as she hurried up out of her seat.

"El please don't go yet, I'm sorry, you know I wasn't trying to be a dick".

"I'm done for today Andrew, and you know what yes you were. You have never agreed with me and Jeremy's decisions. I'm done with that life and my children will never be part of it. So back off."

We left him at the table, I could just sense my moms blood boiling. I didn't dare say anything. I didn't want to be the next person she yelled at. We finally made it back to the room where David was still laying in his coma. I just wish he would wake up. I felt so hopeless. It's the worse feeling in the world not being able to help the ones you love. I just don't wanna lose no one else.

It was quiet for a long time, I read a book and my mom played a game on her phone.

After a few hours I just couldn't help but think about what that man and my mom said. What life is she tryna keep us from? What do I not know ????? What wish did my mom get? Does that man not know my father is dead? None of this makes since?

I look over at my mom.

"Mom please tell me whatever it is I can handle it. I'm scared. I know you know something I just sense it. What are you hiding from me?"

She let out a big sigh..

"Maybe I shouldn't have came back here I thought we would be safe here among the humans but I don't know anymore"

The humans ????

"'Mom what do you mean you are freaking me out????"

She got real quiet...

"Liz I don't know if you can... I was trying to save you from this. Once you know it's no going back..."

"Mom please tell me.."

She starts shaking her head

"Elizabeth... you're not human. Nor is your brother, or me, and neither was your father..."
