Chapter 2: And It Begins

"Hello? Ms.? Are you there?" Asked the 911 operator.

I got silent because I started to hear rustling in the trees above me. I could feel the panic take over my body still and I heard screaming and it sounded like David. It got quiet again for a minute and all of a sudden I heard a loud thump. I jump and turn to the sound and there was my little brother laying on the ground. I ran to him and flipped him over, blood was gushing out of his neck like a wild animal had bit him there. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I have never felt so scared, not since the car accident....I checked to see if David had a pulse but I was panicking so bad I couldn't concentrate and feel it. So I went to reach for my phone out my pocket but realized I had dropped it. I got up and checked around to see if the animal that attacked David was around still. I didn't see anything and also spotted my phone so I quickly ran to go grab it, when I turned back around to go to David there was a man standing over his body. I didn't move towards him or it but stood there unsure what to say or do. He had blood all over his mouth and chin, and all over his clothes. He had the most evil smirk I had ever seen. He sent chills down my spine as he kept looking at me, it was like I was staring into the eyes of a hungry predator, and I looked like I was about to be his next prey.

"What are you" I quickly spilled out.

He didn't say anything, he started to charge after me I tried to run but I tripped over the tree roots sticking up out of the ground, I felt his hand grab my arm as he lifted me up. He was so cold. I thought he was about to eat me in that moment but then suddenly he let me go and then started to grab my face and stare into my eyes and proceeded to say,

"You will forget you saw me, all you will remember is your brother was attacked by a bear, and it almost attacked you".

He quickly swooshed away.

What was he trying to do, I paused in my spot for a minute so confused trying to figure out what just happened. So then I caught my breath and ran back to my brother and I heard sirens approaching. I guess they tracked my phones location but I was so thankful. I stayed with my brother until the cops walked towards us, they put in for an ambulance right away. I just kept crying and saying don't let him die, please don't die. They kept questioning me until the ambulance came but I was very shocked and so out of it.

All that could come out of my mouth was

"Vampire".
