"So, what do you plan to do from now on?" Reynald asked the girl beside him as he looked at the kids that are playing around.

"I don't know. I wanted to just help out in the orphanage and maybe take over when the matron got too old later but, hmm...

It might really take some time huh? I now feel like I should not waste my time and do something significant, at least reach something high.

Grandma Matron also said this to me before." Fraye Bow said thoughtfully as she swing her feet off the ground while seating.

"Do you have anything you are good at?" Reynald asked again as he started thinking about what to suggest.

"I am quite above average on physics and math while I am quite good on physical activities because of helping out in the orphanage before.

I do not really have any preferences on what I want to do.

I just don't like going alone.

I would have gone to your school if not for me, not being good enough to be a knightmare frame pilot." Fraye said thoughtfully with a hand on her chin and pouting by the end of it.

"If you really want to be on the same school as me then you can just go.

I got news from one of my classmates that stayed behind.

It seems that they opened another course.

This course is all about learning the science and technicalities of knightmare frames.

It seems that our country is really lacking staff like mechanics and scientists that can act as the maintenance crew or in the research department.

This is really a good timing for this to happen." Reynald said with a happy smile as he finally just relaxed leisurely and leaned back into the bench their are seating on.

"That's great! I will prepare everything now then!" Fraye exclaimed excitedly as she really does not like going some place alone without knowing anyone in that place too.

In a military base, in the borders of Russia.

*Loud emergency or alert sounds

"Prepare for sorty! Alert! Prepare for sorty!" a stern female voice sounded loudly in a neutral tone all around.

All the soldiers hurriedly prepared themselves from being dispatched at the forefront.

The pilots are already on standby inside their knightmare frames, rechecking the status of their mechs using the user interface software inside while the mechanics and scientists responsible for maintenance rechecked if every resources of the knightmare frame is filled up.

It is because it will be blamed to them if the pilot suddenly had to come back mid fight because of low energy.

*sonic boom sounds

*boom!

The first explosion of this time's skirmish sounded and it started the fight.

"Go! Go! Go!"

"Fucking hurry up!"

"Don't block my way! I'mma earn my merits right now!"

"All hail Britannia!"

*Bang! Bang! Bang!

*Boom!

Loud explosions and other such loud noises sounded out everywhere.

In the field, if you just faced it, you would see many knightmare frames engaging into battle.

They fired upon each other mostly while some of the one's who finished all their clips fast enough started going melee.

This knightmare frames only have two designs.

One is the Ganymede of which most people are familiar already.

The other one looks bulky and rough.

It's design and theme is very similar to armored core, it is very squarely in design.

This model of knightmare frame is what Russia had manage to make for themselves.

Some people might be thinking that Russia might not necessarily meddle when Britannia started it's invasion, and you are wrong to think so.

It is because, Russia is already expected to do the same if they had a chance.

Although, they might not do so as aggressively as Britannia did, it is only a matter of time.

Britannia's invasion is, in fact, very timely for Russia right now, it is so that they would have a good reason to counter invade.

The battle field had become full of explosions and loud metal clanging everywhere.

There are almost no infantry unit in the middle of it, unlike how the previous world war two where the center of the battle field is always occupied by infantry units.

All the infantry units is now being deployed by the side of the battle field, both sides of this skirmish does this as they both know that it is quite meaningless to pit the infantry against the knightmare frames.

Because even if knightmare frames are quite big, they are very quick, specially when in an open field like this place.

There are also no bombers in the sky as the two parties does not want to kill their own soldiers with their own hands needlessly.

This skirmish is after all being recorded by the media of both side too.

They are planning to use this small skirmishes in their propagandas to get support from every citizen in their own countries.

Specially Russia since they are not a monarchy so they can't just spend money on military wantonly unlike Britannia.

This propaganda will also be used to recruit more soldiers.

In the middle of the skirmish, on the Britannia's side of the battle field and in their fort.

"What's that?!"

"Reinforcement?! But why is there only two knightmare frame exclusive carrier?"

The Alert sounded again everywhere in the Britannia's side.

"Alert! The Empress is coming! Alert! The Empress is coming!"

Everyone froze for a second on their spots before cheering loudly.

"Let's fuck those Russians hard! Yeah!!"

"I'm gonna show my heroics to the empress!"

"Let me go! I have to look good in front of the empress!"

"So... You ready?" Marianne asked excitedly in the coms.

"Huh? Ready for what?" CC asked with confusion in tone.

"Don't you see below?" Marianne asked with a raised brow as she smiled widely in a half toothy grin.

"They are having a small skirmish, I can see that, and so?" CC asked again as she slightly frowned in confusion.
