“I think we both did!” I flagged down a server and ordered beer-battered fried pickles, toasted ravioli with marinara, and another pitcher of beer for our table.

It was too loud to carry on much of a conversation, so I slipped my hand into Wes’s, and we sat and watched the dancers move against each other. Brandon and Isaac rejoined us—perhaps not so coincidentally—at the same time our server returned with my order. Which was perfectly cool, because we all took turns buying rounds and plates of appetizers for the table when we went out.

I’d barely taken a bite of pickle when Greg bounded up and reached between me and Wes to grab one for himself. He leaned against my shoulder and swallowed a big bite. “This place is amazing!” He laid his arms around both my and Wes’s shoulders and pulled us toward him. “And I think you two have been holding out on me.”

Wes’s shoulders shook with suppressed laughter. “How so?”
