"By the way, there is a strange rumor going on..." The first lady trailed.

"Tell me about it." The second lady replied with Laurel mouthing the same statement. Doesn't she have anything to say than "Tell me about it?"

"That miserable lady is Lucas' new toy," She announced with excitement and terror. Laurel didn't know which because they blended so well!

There was a pause. Then the two of them burst into laughter.

Laurel dumped the paper towel on the sink furiously. They were mocking her of course! Who else sat on the other side if not her? She had only felt comfortable with that side of the room so her English gown was rendered useless. All her make- up was for nothing because she chose the other side of the room.

"Wait.." One of them said in between laughter. "His new what? You've got to be shitting me. How did that happen? Oh...poor woman. She must have been so debated to hear Ella and the boss having sex..." The second lady said with mock sarcasm in her voice.
