Chapter Seventeen: Trouble

Jade's blood ran cold at the voice, and her body froze.

"Don't you know its rude to ignore your superior?" He asked, footsteps coming closer.

She wished she had at least thought to put her knife in her belt loop. She was kneeling on the ground, back to the Incubus. Already she was at a disadvantage, but add the Demonic versus human strength difference, and the Incubus venom running through her veins, and Jade was as good as dead.

She searched her brain for any idea how to get out of this. She still had to place the Soul Stones around the pentagram, and offer her blood at a binding tool, before she could banish the Incubus.

'At least I remembered to put the obsidian paint on.'

The footsteps stopped, directly behind her.

'Crap...I am so screwed.'

Jade stayed silent, unmoving.

"Come now, don't be afraid." He said, his strong hand resting on her shoulder.

As soon as it touched her skin, the Incubus would learn two things. One was that his paralysis wouldn't work on her, because of the obsidian paint. The second would be that she wasn't a virgin, his telepathy was due thanks for that. When he figured the latter out, he'd be pissed.

Incubi prided themselves as the defilers of the pure. They enjoyed taking girls virginity. They were by far, sick, demented creatures. And when he learned his "prey" had been taken, he'd hunt down whoever stole his prize. Jade had to figure something out before then.

So she decided on doing something she was good at. Stalling.

"So, you're the one behind the raping," Jade asked, more as a statement than a question.

"Ah, yes. I have been assisting the girls on their journey to womanhood." The Incubus said.

She could hear the pride in his voice, and she wanted to scoff, but she bit her lip instead.

"You broke into my bedroom," Jade stated.

"Yes. Your scent was so sweet, so delicious. And you were already in longing." He replied, rubbing her shoulder.

The small act sent cold chills down her spine.

"Sweet?" She asked.

"Oh yes, as it is now. Like honey and cinnamon." He described, kneeling down beside her. "It makes me feel wild. I want to taste you."

Jade swallowed her fear as the Incubus slowly moved her shirt out of the way, to run his finger gently across her neck.

She could feel his body tensing as soon as his fingertip brushed her skin. He inhaled, and his aura darkened.

"Someone took you from me...." His voice was quiet, then rage filled him. "Who the hell took you from me?!?"

Jade didn't answer, her heart hammered against her chest in fear. Fingers wrapped around her throat, then they were at the wall, Jade pinned against the wall by her throat. She could hardly breathe, but she could still move, and her hands struggled to pull the Incubus' hands from around her throat.

"He will die." The Incubus growled.

'Derik..Watch out for the Incubus...'

Her thought was weak and dark spots danced in her vision.

Derik awoke to his heart pounding and he found it hard to breathe. Gasping in air, he looked around wildly. Derik counted Mark and Jones, but Jade was missing. He felt scared, really scared. Then he heard Jade's voice, although she wasn't there.

'Derik...Watch out for the Incubus...'

Derik instantly got to his feet. He was rushing, in a panic. Jade was in trouble.

Mark had woken as well, due to Derik's gasping and panic.

"Is everything well?" Mark asked, standing now.

"No. Jade's missing and she's in trouble," Derik said, heading towards the door.

"Jones. Get up." Mark said, kicking the kid.

A groan came from Jones, but Mark ignored it.

"Jade is in danger," Mark said.

Jones' eyes opened quickly, and he sat up.

"Let's go help her then," Jones said, standing up, although the sleep in his eyes blurred his vision.

Derik nodded in serious gratitude, then walked out the door, following his instincts. He could Feel Jade's fear and pain, he Knew where she was. They made it to the alley and saw the supply bag near the pentagram, but no Jade. She was close, very close, but they didn't see her. Derik walked into the alley, Mark, and Jones following a few steps behind. Jones was breathing heavy, having the limited stamina of humans.

As they entered the alley, Derik was met by a strong power. It was dark, lustful, and rage-filled. It made him afraid. Afraid because he knew Jade was in this alley with it.

Jade heard the footsteps, and instantly knew it was Derik. He had come for her. She figured he had woken up, found her gone, and believed she went to set the pentagram up, which was mostly what had happened.

Her thoughts were forced back to herself when the grip around her neck tightened, closing her airway. Warm breath washed over her ear, as well as the deep voice.

"Sleep now, my Sweet, while I take care of these intruders." The Incubus whispered.

Through her hazy thoughts, she realized he was meaning Derik, Mark, and Jones.

'No!'

She once again tried to fight back, digging her nails into his skin, scratching at her throat. The pressure didn't lessen if anything it increased. Her vision was going dark, her lungs feeling as if they'd explode. On instinct, she wildly kicked around, her feet making contact with the wall and the Incubus. They were weak though, as her struggle stopped and the Incubus let her go, her body crumpling to the ground.
