Chapter Five: Make a decision and make it fast.

Everyone rushed to check the notice board for the principal announcement.

"Get out of my way" a guy pushed me hard, that I stumbled. I dusted my body as I stood waiting for them to leave. Slowly, I felt obligated to this school. I felt a cause to respect the rich at school. They allowed me to live and breathe in their midst. What's more precious than being alive? I watched as the crowd lessened and I walked up to the notice board.

They were organizing a party to celebrate another arrival at school. People from overseas would grace the occasion. It was a way of showing Rep Me Up High. There would be signed deals, for sure. I rested my head on the wall as I looked outside through the transparent door. I felt a tug at my heart .

"Don't do this. Stay. It'll only last for a moment. Your Mum loves you" it rang.

The feeling to run outside, hop on my bicycle and ride home, died. I arrived early in class. My seat had been fixed by the school. I felt uncomfortable. No pranks, no laughter, no insults. Everyone ignored me. Classes went on smoothly.

I opened my locker to see another letter. Just as I expected.

" 3RD DAY " it read

I searched the hallway for Brixan. I didn't see a sign of him. Why were they playing mind games with me?

I left the school indoors, for the outdoors. I got on my bicycle only to fall from it. I eyed it ferociously. It wasn't bad when I rode it to school. I spotted the chain wheel had gotten bad. I knew they couldn't stay a day without frustrating me.

I decided to walk home. I held my bicycle as I strolled home. I passed the pizza restaurant my Dad and I always visited when I was little. I wiped my tears. I couldn't believe he left me when he said he wouldn't. A car had drove in speed, splashing water on my body. I still walked on. What's the use of yelling? No one's going to listen to you , anyways.

I rang the doorbell, knowing Joanna would be home. We weren't on shift today.

" Did you tell your Mum?" Joanna asked.

" No. I didn't want to bother her" I said " By the way, my chain wheel's bad. The kids at school damaged it on purpose"

" I wish I could punch them all in their faces" she said and I laughed. Joanna had being the only one able to make me laugh, apart from Mum and Dad. How lonely I am.

" I should get ready to get skinned alive tomorrow. Three days over" I said and collapsed on my bed with a sigh.
