Chapter 15: Loss
Daniella's euphoria continued, leaving her with an extra bounce in her step. After saying goodbye to Astrid, Greg draped his arm around her shoulders as they walked side by side. They talked briefly, spending most of the time enjoying the beautiful weather, neighboring shops, and each other's company.
He took her to get ice cream, where she got a cookie dough and cream concoction and he a sea salt caramel pecan flavor. She decided later, when their mouths and bodies were crushed together in a heated kiss behind the store, that the flavor tasted much better when combined with his lips. Today was good. Today felt right. Being with him felt right, and nothing could take her down from that cloud.
