Ch 18 Surpass your limits

It is time to face the last opponent, The Great King, Oikawa Toru.

Walking over to the last court at the end, it was obvious to any wandering by stander that, Toru Oikawa's team had been winning all their games and were currently undefeated. By correlation they were the King of the Court team of this session.

'Though, all that will change, why? Because I'm here'.

*Ting*

With a wide grin plastered on my face, we all stood opposite Oikawa's team. Waiting for the whistle to signify the start of the game, the sound of the whistle was heard.

However it wasn't for the game to start but for the tryout session to end.

*BEEP*

The whistle in the coach's mouth sounded to signify the end of the first day of practice.

"As all things come to an end, this is the end for today's try out. I am heavily impressed with the level that was showcased out here on the court today. You all gave your 100% well, nearly everyone.

'Hey hey what's the diss for, if anything I did my best. I do not know about Akira Kunimi but next time let's go all out Akira'.

To say I'm impressed is an understatement but I have made my decision on the players for Kitagawa Daiichi Junior High's volleyball team. I can only take 15 of you and I will let the list be known to everyone by tomorrow morning. Remember, if I could I would choose everyone here but we want just the best. I hope to see the 1st and 2nd years not on the team to try out for the next season. That's all, dismissed.

And that was it, the end of the tryouts, although I didn't get to go against Oikawa, that opportunity will present itself to me soon, very soon.

On that note, I'm guessing Akira won't make the team and neither will onion head, although I did not go against the teams with Akira Kunimi and Yutaro Kindaichi, I am almost certain on the list tomorrow neither of them will appear on it. Although they were starters in their 3rd year, right now they are not to that level.

*Third person Pov

Heading over to his belongings, Daniel started packing up and put on his sweatpants, headphones in hand and sports drink in the other. Making his way to the door, he was obstructed by a figure, maybe 2. Looking up from his phone to choose a playlist to listen to, he saw it was Toru Oikawa and Hajime Iwaizumi.

Putting away his phone, he put his headphones around his neck and asked,

"Is there something I can help you with? I would rather not waste my time with you." Folding his arms as he finished, silence ensued for a few seconds until a sound of ruffling broke the tense atmosphere.

It was Daniel, after deciding they had nothing to say but attempt to intimidate him. He put his headphones over his ears and proceeded to walk past them, not without bumping shoulders.

"Wait !" Toru Oikawa called out.

Daniel's footsteps came to a halt without turning to face them.

"What is it?"

"I watched you play, do you want to stay for a bit and hit some balls?"

*Daniel's POV

Bruh.

'I want to go home, mane; not play around with some guys, with balls nonetheless'.

"Sigh, give me a good enough reason to stay". I turned to face Oikawa and Iwaizumi who stood behind him.

"Eh, a reason? Why do you need a reason to play volleyball?" Seemingly unable to understand, Oikawa made a 180 degree turn to Iwaizumi and whispered.

"Iwa-chan, he needs a reason to play volleyball".

"Shitty-kawa, figure that out yourself, don't ask me for help."

Out of nowhere, the air around Oikawa seemed to change, walking towards me

"Do you love volleyball?" He faced me with a crazed look in his eyes.

Huh, did he just- NO, No, no , it can't be. Nah, he didn't just ask me that.

Unknowingly, Daniel's eyes turned cold and he began to approach Oikawa. Iwaizumi seemed to sense something was wrong and wanted to separate the two from confronting.

"You dare ask me, if I love volleyball? Do not and I repeat do not ask about such things from me ever. You do not deserve the calling of volleyball. Do not think you're better than me, I am different from you. "

"Those who have accepted their fate with no intentions of surpassing their limits are below me".

"I WILL KEEP MOVING FORWARD until all you can see is the dust below feet."
