Chapter Fifty_Two: Unknown x Angel x Darkness POV: Retracing steps

"Do you think it's wise that you two continue together?" came her assistants voice. She continued to watch the globe that kept up with the devil's son and the archangel Michael's daughter. It seemed as though fate had decided to do things differently and no one would know what would be coming their way.

"We can't interfere or do anything that could alert the higher gods. If we do, we know we'll be inviting disaster. I need to keep my eyes on them and keep alert for there might be surprises coming along the way." He ordered and moved to walk through a set of doors.

The sound of a heart beating was the first thing he heard as he walked through and it felt like music to his ears as he stepped through. "Were you able to remove it?" He asked, moving to the healer that was standing on the other side. He bowed and quickly pulled out a note from a document.

"Everything seems to be going okay but the mark is a special one. It seems to be one we can't easily remove and when we do try, something happens …" he trailed off as he gestured to the other healer who seemed to be wearing some gear. "You might want to step back for this," he adviced and he did as instructed.

The other healer placed something above him and immediately stepped away. Suddenly, they all heard a zapping sound but whatever had been placed above his chest began to leviate and go around in circles as it rose. The mark that was on his chest appeared as though it was being pulled off.

And then he heard it, her scream. It was so loud that nearly made him fall to his knees. The object sparked up in flames and crashed into the wall but her screams didn't stop. "Make it stop!" He snapped at the healer. "Make it stop!" He repeated, not liking the way she was reacting to it.

"STOPPP!" he cried out.

"STOPPP!"

He couldn't make it stop, he had tried to ever since it started but he didn't understand how this had come to be. She had been screaming like this for the past twenty minutes and he didn't know what had caused it.

They had been walking and decided to stop so they could look at the map. They tried to retrace their steps or figure out where to go next but then before they could, she just collapsed. After a while, she had a seizure. He had called out to her but had worried that she might hurt herself so now he was stuck holding her down.

Until he felt it. The heat that grew in her body, slowly spread to him and he pulled back from her. Afraid that she would burn him, he had knew how intense her power could get and he wasn't ready to be the victim. He noticed a glow growing on the right side of her chest and his eyes went wide with shock.

How in the hell?

"Save him," she said in a different woman's voice as though a spirit had taken over her body. "I said save my son healer!" she continued. Aamon's eyesbrows raised, as they wondered what was going on and who the spirit was talking about. What son was she referring to?

"Who are you?" he questioned as he came close to Aural's body, speaking up to see if it would work. Maybe the body was channeling another spirit and ended up in Aural's. "Where is that voice coming from?" the spirit asked and Aamon looked at Aural confused.

"Who are you?" he asked again, sounding confident even though he didn't feel confident one slightest bit. "Goddess." She responded, "How do I remove this mark from my son? Who does this mark belong to? And why wont it come off? Please allow me to remove it from him." she said.

Aamon was confused but at the same time understood. Aural had marked one person and he had seen it. However, when she had nearly marked him, he had saved himself from it. She must have channeled a bit of herself into him and he into her. "I have no idea but something tells me that they are now connected. Whatever one feels, the other will feel too. If one dies …" he trailed off.

"The other will die too …" she whispered. He didn't realize what kind of power this fallen angel had but it was clear to see that her power was stronger than she realized. That must have been the reason why they had given her this task. She had the skills and power for it but didn't realize that she did.

Her body was basically creating links with others when it overheated and could feel another source. Instead of the body dealing with it by itself it shared the pain and received a greater life span. She would probably not die, if the other did, or if the power source was less than her.

She would probably suck the life out of the other, just so she could survive. What kind of fallen angel was this?
