Chapter Fifty: Angel X Darkness POV: Darkness and Light Acquaint (Part three)

Song recommended: Sonder Victoria EP (Cafune)

"You … you're from hell." She whispered, feeling terror gripping her throat as she stared at the stranger before her. She knew there was something off about him but now she was sure that his motives had changed. She needed to get away from him before he corrupted her.

'You are already corrupted', she thought while sighing. She focused more on him. "Stay out of my head," she spat as she stepped back again but the smile on his face only grew wider. "Sweetheart, your thoughts are loud and you know that we can always tap into one's thoughts. You fear me cause you think I can corrupt you but … " he trailed off.

"Stay away from me you devil." She warned as she reached to pull the blade from the hidden zip of her bag but when her fingers searched for the knife, she couldn't even feel the outline. "I am assuming you're looking for this." He said as he pulled out the knife from his pocket.

The blade was shinning and she noticed that he held it with some guide of cloth. "I understand that this kind of weapon was made to be used by Angels, so I know that if my bare hands touch it, I might burn away as a vampire when exposed to sunlight and I am definitely not trying to do that." He snorted and threw the blade at her feet.

Without wasting time, she quickly grabbed it but when she looked back up to point it at him, she noticed that he was gone and no matter how much she circled to look around she couldn't see him at all. This was turning out in a way that she had never expected it to turn out.

But when has this realm ever been consistent in its ways.

"I love it when I meet angels who think they still have a chance to go back home, even though the chances of having a clean slate is like a thirty percent chance to slim. He doesn't clean your slate, he forgives you and there's a big difference about that!" she heard his shout yet when she turned to where she last heard his voice, he wasn't there.

"I studied this and took my time, trying to understand everything but at the same time, diving in to see why everything mattered to the angels. I get it, you all are meant to take care of each other and the humans. You are meant to be innocent and to not to mislead the humans.

But … there's one thing I don't get. How you all think you are better then us when we are doing the same thing just with a different purpose. You tell them that they'll be free but we remind them that freedom doesn't truly mean free.

You tell them that their slates will be wiped clean but you only make them feel better about themselves. Sooner or later their consciences return to haunt them. It's cringe worthy honestly." He yelled and then everything got quiet.

Aural could feel her heart racing as she tried to focus so that she could figure out where he was and where he might be hiding or coming from but no matter how much she tried the fear was overwhelming.

"Fear." He whispered in her ear and she instantly thrusted the blade until she felt that it was still in the air and not stuck in his guts. She huffed and puffed, opening her eyes and going in circles but all it did was play games with her mind. He was playing games with her mind.

"You want to kill me so badly but you don't even know me. Just because I am your opposition doesn't mean I want to see you bleeding … well, just a little bit, sometimes." He laughed and then she finally caught sight of him. He walked towards her, confidently speaking and she for some odd reason felt trapped.

"You say I am from hell and I definitely won't deny that but that doesn't mean you have the right to kill me. They teach you to get rid of us and we learn to be watchful over you all. We don't care at times who you save, what we care about is reminding you all that once upon a time, you were all apart of us.

Your thoughts were dark, your desires were temptatiing and they allured all kinds of darkness. Some were thought of involuntarily and some voluntarily. We were made in a spilt second. I just thought I remind you of it, just in case you pretend to be superior." He spat as he stepped closer to her face.

Pensively, they stared into each others eyes, both with different emotions. She could feel the heat coming from her body and the blade that was keeping them slightly separated. When she tried to take a step back again, she nearly fell into the fountain.

But his arm was the one that kept her steady and close to him. The knife, although facing up, was kept steady by their bodies. At this point, she knew she was breathing in his vapour. "Why are you following me?" she finally asked after a second and he smirked. Finally satisfied that she had finally asked the right question.

"Because we are both after the same thing with the same purpose. The only difference is … we represent different realms. Now we could either, kill each other for it." he whispered, placing his hand on her right cheek as he slowly brought down his head. "Or we can both share the reward of obtaining it." he whispered.

Since their faces were in close proximity, he could see her eyes flutter and he wondered how an angel's lips taste. Well, there was only one way to find out ...

To taste and to see how it would be.
