Enemies to Friends

Adam checked the book Charlotte dropped on his table and said suddenly

"Omg!" exclaimed Adam quietly and he knows that that book mean a lot to him if not he can't passed the quiz competition and he thought within himself "I thought she was selected for the quiz and why did she returned the book, just like that, even when she knew we're rivals!" Adam was confused within himself and he turned his gaze towards Charlotte seat and he could see her reading the book before her with readiness of heart "This is strange!" mumbled Adam inwardly. He made up his mind to find out himself and he stood up instantly towards where she was sitting down.

"Hi, thanks for returning the book to me!" said Adam politely

"You're welcome," said Charlotte abruptly and she continued with her book

"Em em. I wanted to ask were you selected for the quiz?" asked Adam softly

"Yes!" replied Charlotte, she raised her eyebrows on him.

"And you know everyone is looking for a text book like this to read. Why did you return it I thought we're rivals?" asked Adam inquiring

"Rivals yes but not anymore." chuckled Charlotte softly

"Why?" asked Adam stunned at her smiling face. "Omg, did she just smiled at me?" thought Adam inwardly

"I think you need this scholarship more than me!" admitted Charlotte softly

"Said by who? I thought you needed it more than me?" asked Adam looking at her questioning

"Yeah but I think you needed it more." said Charlotte gently

"So are you going to quit the quiz?" asked Adam looking at her suspiciously

"No am not!" replied Charlotte softly

"So why changing your mind now. Why telling me I need it more than you. I think you need this quiz badly and I am surprised you returned the text book, I thought you hated me?" said Adam, raised his eyebrows at her questioning

"Yeah not anymore." replied Charlotte kindly

"Why? What happened?" asked Adam bewildered at her statement

"I think I was just being selfish, I mean everyone is free to have the first position in class as far he or she has what it takes to pass the exams." said Charlotte thoughtfully

This was the first time, Adam could sensed another part of Charlotte towards him. She was not the arrogant, rude, self centered girl he portrayed her to be, thought Adam inwardly to himself.

"Whoa whoa. I never knew you to be a lovely soul like this." chuckled Adam and he added "Can I sit with you please?" asked Adam politely

"Yeah sure! And I never knew you to be polite too!" grinned Charlotte.

The two rivals started talking together and they were happy with each other, no grudges, no hate. They were friends now, both studying together for the upcoming quiz.

Vivian and others in the classroom was surprised to see Adam and Charlotte being friends now. The two enemies had turned to best friends even the teachers were pleased to see them working together as a team in the classroom. Charlotte had started improving well in her studies, she was no longer in the second position. Charlotte was now in the same position with Adam, the school was proud of them. They were now the talk of their peers.

"Charlotte and Adam are the people that passed the essay for the upcoming quiz." said Iris sarcastically

"I heard they had first and second position together in their subjects now, that was ridiculous." said Ivie scornfully

"It's good anyway, since they're going to represent our school with the other kids." said Caleb indifferently

"Hmmm. Aren't not we the ones that supposed to be first position for the essay. Now it's Charlotte, Adam, Princess and you that's going for the quiz." said Iris bitterly

"Yes isn't it good?" asked Caleb

"No it's not!" shouted Ivie angrily

"Oops sorry dear." said Caleb smiled

"It's not funny Caleb. Ever since we've asked you to give us update about science class. You have went there to fall in love with Vivian." said Ivie maliciously

"Fall in love?" asked Caleb surprised at the statement

"Stop the pretense, we can see it in your face. it's obvious you guys are dating now." said Iris sarcastically

"Hmmm!" mumbled Caleb quietly. He loves Vivian now and he's not going to deny his feeling for her

"You see, Ivie is right!" agreed Iris

"Excuse me please!" said Caleb, he stood up to leave their presence

"I know he will definitely take us for granted at the end. I will make sure I end that stupid relationship of him and Vivian. Since I was not selected for the quiz. It will be war for the science class." said Ivie

"Let's just take it easy with Caleb. He's not his fault we're not selected for the quiz." said Iris softly

"It's not my business, he'll pay for it" hissed Ivie and turned away angrily from her friend.
