Standing over the corpse of the Roc bird David finally noticed that something was different. Even though the Roc bird was an elderly one and he himself was a novice to weak for the bird to take as a threat, still did not explain what happen.

David dismantle and stores the Roc bird, Roc bird eggs and collects his spear and arrow first before figuring out what's different.

While finishing his decent down the mountain he begins mulling over his changes, thinking back on it he realizes first that he had more stamina lately. Not only was he not getting short of breath while hiking like he usually do because of his asthma, but also realized he felt stronger.

David went in deep thought on what could have caused this, while going through his notifications for anything he missed he looks at his status. Looking at his status it finally dawned on him, he was only Level one when he got there and now he was almost Level ten.

After figuring out the cause of change he sees that he has 10sp, which he can use for more skills from the shop. The 10sp was spent on power Guage, presence eraser, and silent step.

Finally reaching the forest again David activates presence eraser and silent steps. He figures doing this will make it easier not to attract unwanted attention if he crossed a strong monster.

Walking through the forest towards the river David killed multiple types of beasts and reached Level ten. At first he was gonna just sneak past them but realized that the more he fought the better he became at using his weapons.

Finally reaching the river it was the perfect time to stop for lunch, he cut down a tree and made something to sit on along with something to use as a work table. David took a log and started to carve a bowl cause the first thing he wanted to do was wash up a little.

As he got close to finishing the bowl, shadow woke up and barked at him. Excited to see him awake David stopped carving and walked over to him. David tried speaking to him and explaining what's going on only to be met with him trying to cover his nose.

With a small chuckle David looks at shadow and says I know I'm about to take care of that now. David tells him that his mother wanted him to have this and rolled her core to him. Shadow ate it and layed down on the ground with a feint glow, while shadow was absorbing the core he finished the bowl.

David scooped some water from the river and heated it over a fire before using it to wash his body. Now a little cleaner with clean clothes on David started cooking. Using some plants that are edible he found in the forest that he knew was safe thanks the botany skill, he made a stir fry using Roc bird meat.

Once David finished cooking shadow had also finished absorbing the core, luckily he accounted for this and made enough for both of them. After eating and cleaning up, David put away everything went on his way while walking along the river.

For the next four hours David and shadow walked along the river fighting, they fought a couple types of fish, a few frogs, and two turtles. David was quite surprised at the sight of shadow eagerly jumping into battle without the slightest hesitation.

With the sky showing signs of the sun setting, David set up camp and sprayed monster repellent around it. David made him and shadow some dinner and took a look at his status changes, especially considering the benefits his talent survival instincts bring.

After checking his status, David decided to go to sleep since he figured that they'd reach the mountain tomorrow.

The next morning David woke up to a notification, the notification was about the completion of shadow's Inheritance integration. Apparently eating the core of his mother came with an inheritance, not only did he grow in size but he gained some blue in his fur from it. Looking at shadow's status David was quite shocked at the changes.

Shadow was now 20 inches tall and 30 inches long, his fur was midnight black with a shade of royal blue on the bottom third of each strand. He also had a mane that resembles that of a chow chow back in his dimension.

After receiving the notification that the last task was completed, David was now wide awake. David cooked breakfast using a Roc bird egg and some streaks made from shadow wolf. Once breakfast was eaten David cleaned, packed up the camp and continued to his destination with shadow.

Six hours later they arrived at the base of the mountain, this one was three times as big as the last one he was at. It was vibrant with vegetation all over, had multiple landings and waterfalls stretching higher then he could see all the way to clouds, there was even two waterfalls at the base.

The two at the base led to two rivers, one of which David was just walking along. Looking at the mountain David felt like something was off, so he checked his mini map hoping it picked up what was off.

Sure enough it did find it, cause there was there was a section of it that didn't show up on it. At a section behind the waterfall 20 feet up did not show on the Mini map, the section appeared as a dark fog.

Wanting to know what's there David gets closer to the waterfall, looking up he sees what looks like a cave. David ties a rope around shadow and tells him to wait there while he climbs up. With the other end of the tied on himself, David uses the Roc bird talons to climb up to the cave.

Reaching the cave David pulls shadow up to it by the rope, now with them both in it David realize that the cave is very well lit. Sitting on both walls along the top were round stones emitting light, there was also strange symbols engraved near the entrance glowing. 300 meters in the cave was a door leading further in, the door had symbols too but they weren't lit up.

Pushing the door open and walking in David notices that it looked like a living place. The room he walked into had two wooden couches, two armed chairs, a coffee table, fire place and a dining table set in the right side corner with two more doors further back.
