3. Shopping for Skills

DING!!

With the mother Wolf's death the system sends a notification of the completion and reward for the task. Thinking about the the new skill he just received as a reward, David wondered if the shop had the most wanted skill shown in all fantasy anime.

With the skill tab pulled up David quickly looks for a search function and types storage in it, three different storage options showed up in the shop.

< storage - connects to any owned storage device and places items inside it when the word storage is said. ( limited to space of device) 1sp>

< Dimensional Storage - connects user to their own personal pocket dimension for storage. ( space is determined by users amount of mana) 4sp>

< Infinite storage - creates an inventory space in the system through users connection to the system. ( there is no limit to space) 8sp>

Thanks to the five more sp he received from killing the mother wolf David had a total of 22sp, 6 from reaching Level 7 and 4 from the kill. This made choosing a lot easier but he still thought about the use on the long run and spent 8sp.

Not wanting to waste any more time he chose to continue looking later and get out of this area. Looking at the wolf corpse David held out his hand and said dismantle, a ray of light left his hand and hit the corpse. The ray disappeared and in its place was parts of the wolf perfectly broken down and separated as if an expert butcher did it. The blood was in glass bottles already, even the pelts was neatly folded and bones in there own group. Holding out his hand again he said storage and placed everything inside his newly acquired inventory, then went and did the same to the brutal tiger.

Picking up, collapsing and storing his spear David starts heading north to go around the mountain. After hearing the story from the mother wolf he knows that the way he came from was the path she came from while escaping and fighting the brutal tiger. Coming across a path heading up the mountain David takes it so he can still get a view of where he should head.

Halfway up the mountain he finds a landing with trees and signs of it being used as a camping spot before. With the sun starting to set this was the perfect spot to stop for the day, he starts a fire in the fire pit and sets up his tent.

With the tent up David starts to cook something to eat, with not much option he pulls out a piece of the brutal tiger and put it over the fire like a rotisserie.

While that cooks he goes back to the skill shop, wanting to be better prepared against ambush he looks for a radar skill. The skill he wanted was very pricey at 30 sp, so he figured he could make up for it using different cheaper skills together.

First he grabs danger sense since it was only 1sp, immediately after getting it the skill went off. Staying calm he quickly purchases the skill area scan and uses it, scanning something approaching from behind him he lunged forward, rolls and swings his dagger.

Feeling the dagger cut something he hops up of the ground to see what it was, what ever it was was very dark in color and hard to see. Not wanting to take chances David activates both new skills at the same time, while running them he finds four more beasts closer by. Swinging his dagger four times he quickly and easily kill all four, before he could even properly weigh what just happen he receives a notification.

Standing still with a shocked expression for who knows how long, the smell of the cooking piece of brutal tiger snaps him out of his daze. David quickly try using dismantle and storage around him hoping it hits what ever he killed, luckily it did and everything was placed in his inventory.

David checks the Mini map and then sprays a can of monster repellent around the border of the camp, even though the map said nothing was around he sprayed just to be safe.

With the area a lot safer he returns to where he was sitting and rotate the piece of meat, after that he returns to the skill shop. Thanks to the workings of the talent survival instincts David has a whole new plan for skills.

David spends the final 12sp on the skills identify, botany, beastology, weakness detection, and beginner poison resistance. There was one more he wanted but needed just one more skill point to get it, there was no need to stress since he was pretty sure that he'll get it tomorrow.

Closing out the shop the meat was finally finished, pulling out a canteen of water to drink, David eats and goes to sleep in the tent next to the sleeping wolf pup shadow.

The following morning David wakes up just after the sun rises in the sky, he makes something to eat, packs up the camp and continues up the mountain.

Finally at a high enough point David can see the layout of this area, majority of the area is forested but there is a river to the right that heads to another little mountain.

From the looks of it that mountain is closer to the exit of the forest since the other directions seem to go on forever. With a new destination set David sets off down the mountain.

Along the way down the mountain he came across a bird like beast standing at two and a half meters. It had brown feathers, sharp talons and a beak to match, using identify David finds out that it was called a Roc bird.

The info from the beastology said that it's talons are strong enough to break through bedrock, and it's beak can snap a Boulder in half. It also stated that it only lives in herds when they are young for easy mating, and lives alone once past capable mating age. The old male's are aggressive and very battle obsessed, the old female's like solitude but is still territorial and powerful

Roc bird meat is a delicacy loved by the high class and the un-fertilized eggs are even more so. This one was sitting on a nest filled with 40 eggs half the size of an ostrich egg.

Combing over all the info one more time David comes up with the perfect plan to get all the eggs and kill the Roc bird. Since Roc birds have pretty high resistance to venom he knows that the night viper venom he received the night before will only paralyze it for three minutes.

so the plan is to locate its weak spot using weakness detection before paralyzing it so as not to waste his only chance to kill it. Since the weakness was on the back of it's neck this made the job a little easier due to the way it was sitting.

David took an arrow and poured the venom onto the arrow head before drawing it on the bow. He pulls the bow taut and releases it, the moment it fly out he drops his bow and runs towards the Roc bird. Finally noticing David's presence coming behind it the Roc bird tried to stand up and turn around, but the arrow with night viper venom hits it.

Now paralyzed the Roc bird loses its balance and begin to fall backwards, seeing his chance David jumps at it's neck with his sword drawn swinging at it. Now with a cut on the back of its neck and falling towards the ground together, David takes out his spear and stabs it in the cut with the shaft facing the ground.

With no control over its body the Roc bird crashes to the ground forcing the spear through its neck from the back to the front.
