Chapter 14

Lilly held her daughter lovingly and asked with concern, "What happened? How dare that b*tch Sara bully you?"

William almost cried out of breath, "Mom! The last time when we went to the Bishop family and asked her to help me get enrolled for Scrollania College, she was so unwilling. But in the blink of an eye, she is now going to Scrollania too! Today, she even humiliated me in school. I was so embarrassed in front of my classmates!" Wynette held Lilly's arm and asked while sobbing, "Did Master Bishop fall for her? Mom, why did you have to send her to the Bishop family? Now, she has risen to a position of power!"

Lilly's eyes darkened as she patted her daughter's hair. "Stop talking nonsense. Don't you know what kind of person Master Bishop is? It's impossible that he would fall for her. Let me tell you, Master Bishop is known as Lucifer, the devil. Those around him would always end up dead, he's a complete psychopath. Sara's arrogance won't last long. Sooner or later, she would die in his hands." Lilly tried to comfort Wynette, and her hatred for Sara immediately escalated.

"But she's going to Scrollania!" William cried.

"Aren't you going as well? William, you are much better and more wonderful than that b*tch. The students in Scrollania are all from the nobilities, they won't treat an illegitimate daughter well. Don't worry, you're still in the limelight." Lilly consoled, and then came up with an idea. "Stop crying, she would need a guardians' signature as approval for her transfer. As long as your father doesn't sign it, she won't be able to transfer!"

William's eyes lit up at her mother's words and she grabbed hold of Lilly. "Then, you have to tell Dad to not sign it, no matter what!"

"Of course." Lilly smiled and said, "It's not a big deal. Look at you, crying like a baby. You should go clean up for a bit."

William was still worried and said, "Mom, don't forget!"

"Alright! Alright!" Lilly smiled but her eyes were filled with gloom. She muttered under her breath, "I will never allow Sara to go to Scrollania College."

In Lilly's opinion, Sara was exactly like her homewrecker of a mother, and Sara should hide away forever in her smelly ditch. Lilly would never let her crawl out of it.

After William had left school, people started to gossip about her and make fun of her for being so conceited. Sara, on the other hand, was not bothered at all. However, some of them approached her and started fawning over her, which made her feel super uncomfortable.

In reality, she thought that it was completely unnecessary for them to sweet-talk because she might not be able to attend Scrollania College at all. After all, transferring would require a guardian's signature.

After school, just as Sara walked to the gate, she saw the car that Bella had driven to send her to school that morning. It was an unremarkable black Audi sedan, a business appropriate model

Carrying her backpack, she walked over. When Bella exited the car to open the door for her, Sara was flattered and she thanked him in a low voice. Bella only answered in short, "You don't have to, it is my duty."

After the car started, Sara asked, "Has Master Bishop returned?"

"Yes, he's back." Bella replied in a smile, then asked, "Do you have something to ask me?"

Sara nodded immediately and said, "Yes."

Bella answered knowingly, "Then you'd better ask Master Bishop directly." He smiled and continued, "Although it was my doing, it was under Master Bishop's order."

"Oh, I see." Sara replied, pursing her lips.

Bella took her back to the courtyard. Sara placed her bag down and found that Hank was taking a nap. She breathed in deeply and took out her homework along with the prescription that she had diligently researched. While waiting for Hank to wake up, she started doing her homework.

Later, Sara found herself stuck at one of the problems in the homework and she habitually started biting her pen.

Suddenly, a charming voice said in a slightly cold tone, "Choose the answer C."

Startled, Sara turned around and saw that Hank had already woken up. He was leaning lazily on the edge of the bed, looking at her homework.

The man's attractive face was truly tempting, Sara's face reddened and she dared not to stare for too long. She asked in a dulcet voice, "Why?"

Hank was a little tempted and impulsive, so he stretched and grabbed her soft hand, rubbing it. He said in a careless voice, "Haven't you heard? If there are three short answers and one long, choose the longest one; if three long and one short, choose the shortest one; and If all of the answers are in similar length, choose C."

Sara gaped at his explanation. She stammered, "I... I have never... never heard of that. Does it work?"

There was not a hint of guilt when Hank lied. He even added, "It does. If you don't believe me, you can do the calculation again. You were using the wrong formula just now, just change it to 180 degrees."

Sara recalculated as told and was shocked when she got the answer. "It really is C..." She said in amazement.

Hank then replied, "See? I wasn't lying."

Sara nodded absentmindedly. "No, you weren't." She concurred.

Hank pinched her hand and said, "Then, shouldn't you repay me?"

"This... Does this need to be repaid?" Sara asked.

"Of course! I didn't just tell you the secret of scoring for nothing." He slowly fiddled with her fingers. Sara's skin was as soft as cream and as tender as bean curd. Hank liked to play with her hand very much.

Sara frowned but agreed. When she was about to take out the prescription which she had carefully prepared, Hank chipped in, "As a reward, will you give me a kiss? Hmm?"

In just a blink of an eye, Sara's entire face turned red.

It was a dark shade of crimson red.

A... a kiss?!

She couldn't believe what she had heard.

Hank raised his eyebrow and asked, "I've been so kind to you. You're not even willing to give me a kiss?"

Sara did not answer.

She felt like she couldn't argue with the reason.

As a matter of fact, she was a young bride that the Bishop family had bought for the man to chase away bad luck. Since she was the bride, she thought that it might be normal for him to ask for a kiss.

Sara's skin was snow-white, when she blushed, her face looked like a crystalline opal dyed with rouge. It was extremely appealing to the eye.

Hank's eyes darkened slightly at the sight.

Sara gathered her courage, closed her eyes and pecked Hank on the cheek with the speed of an agile dragonfly. After that, her breathing was quick like she had just run a marathon. She lowered her head and did not dare to look at Hank. "I, I've given you a kiss." She said.

The little girl's lips were warm and soft, the touch against his skin gave him a strange tingling sensation. Hank smiled and said in satisfaction, "Well, you're a good kid for knowing the act of repaying kindness."

Sara then rebutted, "I'm already 18! I'm not a kid!"

At the mention of her age, the Scrollania College enrolment suddenly slipped into her mind. After a while, she asked finally, "Master Bishop... Did you instruct Mr. Lawford to come and recruit me?"

Hank asked, "Mr. Lawford? Who is that?"

Sara pitied Mr. Lawford since he had made a trip to the school in person, but Hank didn't even know who he was. She then explained to him, "He's the Director of Admissions from Scrollania College."

Hank raised his eyelids and replied, "I told Bella to handle it."

He pinched Sara's cheek and said, "Scrollania College's quality of education isn't bad. However, if you don't like it, you can choose another school."
