Lucian's gaze darkened

Lucian got annoyed

He didn't like it when someone unexpected barges into his space

Is she the important Client?

"What are you doing here?

Lucian asked, his face gloomy and dark that would make anyone jump in fear

Summer rolled her eyes mentally

Does he need to scrunch up his face that much just so you know he's angry?

Tsk...so unnecessary

"As the lady said earlier, I'm a client and I made an appointment with you, see this?

Summer spoke, raising the card up for him to see

And how the hell did she get that card?!!

Lucian cussed within

Michael looked from his boss to the daredevil, 

one with a frown and the other with a subtle smile 

"Leave us"

Lucian said 

Michael still sat down staring at them 

When his eyes met Lucian's, it was then he realized he was the one addressed

"Oh.....right away boss"

He spoke, stood up and left the office

"What are you doing here and how did that come to your possession?

His husky voice sounded in the office as he pointed at the card

"You mean this? Summer raised the card to him and shrugged..."well, it happened to locate me, I'm here for the offer, it's still valid right?

Lucian raised a brow

The offer....

He scoffed, she was that gullible after all

He was about telling her the offer is now over when he heard a beep from his phone

It was a text from his mother

Lucian sighed and massaged his brows

How did his life turn out from smooth to looking for a wife?

He thought in annoyance

Summer seeing Lucian's darkened face, thought he had changed his mind and the offer is over, she panicked

What was she going to do to make him keep the offer?

His mom had already paid for everything and so she needs to accomplish her part

Just when she racked her brain to think of a way, Lucian's voice was heard

"Just so you know, this is temporary, it's more like a business transaction between two organizations, the difference is that I get to tell you what to do"

Summer's eyes narrowed

"Come again? Why do have the upper hand?

"I get to pay you, remember?

Lucian asked and stood up from his seat to walk towards where she stood

"You do know you could still sit back there while we discuss right? there's really no need to come closer"

Summer muttered warily as he came close 

Lucian ignored her and came to stand right before her

The fact that he could even see the top of her head made him want to laugh at how short she was compared to him

"Now let's talk about 'Lucifer', shall we?

"Wait, what? why?

Summer asked in puzzlement

"Never you call me Lucifer again, or else you'll really be hunted down by the devil, and just so you know, the devil isn't prince charming and he's ruthless"

Summer rolled her eyes

"Oh please, there's no need to start writing a poem, it was just a reflex nickname, you wouldn't blame me y'know, you act like him"

Furrowing his brows in confusion, Lucian asked

"Who?

"Lucifer of course"

Summer answered

Lucian could see that the girl before him was simply too bold or just stupidly ignorant about the things he's capable of

"Why do you need money so much? 

Lucian asked 

"None of your business, just tell me how this thing would go, for how long would I keep up to the pretence? 

Summer asked, she was getting annoyed that her situation is making her do this

"I told you before didn't I, it'll last for Five months and this will be a paper contract, you need money and I need a wife, so deal or no deal?

Lucian lazily asked ignoring the woman who was glaring at him as if wishing for him to drop dead at the moment

"Just know it's a contract and nothing more!!

Summer boomed

"It is what it is, if not so urgent, I wouldn't consider a flat woman like you"

Summer almost puked blood hearing him

Flat woman? did he just say I'm flat?!

She subconsciously looked down at her boobs and understood

"What a spoilt unscrupulous man!

She mumbled and Lucian's gaze darkened as he gripped her arm tight

"What did you say?

He demanded, his face gloomy....

"You heard me!! Oh now you call me flat?!! You didn't know it was flat when you ate me up that night!!! 

Summer coughed slightly as her cheeks reddened and she instinctively tried to pry her arm out of his grip

Lucian smirked, he tugged her arm towards him, making her collide with his chest

"You recall every detail don't you?

His voice rang in her ear and she felt shivers make bed on her skin

"What are you doing?!

She tried pushing him away from her but it was impossible to shake off a wall

Lucian stepped back

"I'm not interested in you, you're just the available option that is convenient for me, don't let your imagination run wild"

After saying that, Lucian turned around to go back to his desk, leaving the mouth widened Summer behind

This man! How dare he.....!!!

Summer screamed within

Who does he even think he is!!

"Are you going to keep standing there or sit? My assistant would make a draft of the contract"

Summer jolted out of her thoughts, eyed him and sat down on the mini couch beside the door

Lucian typed on his phone for some minutes and then dropped it on the table and went into work

Taking a peek at him, Summer watched in awe as Lucian focused on his system, his face serious with a touch of a cold glint, making her wonder if he ever smiles apart from the evil smirk he displays

His eyes were dark and his lips were set in a thin line

His dark hair arranged neatly at a side

He looked devilishly, manly handsome with those trimmed stubble

Peeling her gaze from him, Summer took in the interior decor of the office and subconsciously found herself lost in it

Is this an office or a room?

Cause it's so big and spacious, like one's bedroom, difference is just the desk and office chairs, and the setups

This office is even bigger than hers and Lilian's room

Unknown to her, Lucian's gaze was on her 

He had felt her gaze on him few minutes ago but ignored it untill she looked away

She couldn't even hide her astonishment while checking the office out

Her eyes widened once in a while and her mouth formed an 'O' shape, she was literally drooling over the place

Their eyes met and Summer looked away embarrassed

She had just been caught gaping all over

She could swear she looked like a local idiot!

A knock sounded and Michael came in with a file in his hand, walking straight to Lucian with an unbelievable expression, he handed the file over

"Here's it boss"

He just couldn't believe his ears nor his eyes when he got Lucian's message few minutes ago, instructing him on drafting a marriage contract and what it should contain

Is his boss really serious?

A fake marriage?

"Give one to her" Lucian told Michael and then directed his gaze at Summer

"Go through it properly and sign at the place required"

He said 

Gingerly taking the copy of that contract given to her by Michael, Summer read the contents slowly and carefully, not wanting to miss any detail 

No interference with each other's business, separate rooms but same house, herself accompanying him to family gatherings and social gatherings, 

After reading and re-reading the contract, Summer purred with satisfaction 

Everything written there seems fine with her except two things

Living in the same house and accompanying him to social gatherings

"What's this? Mr Stuart are you serious? you might as well plan my downfall! 

Summer boomed in annoyance and for the umpteenth time, Michael really wanted to find out if the lady really knows who she speaks to in that manner

"You can leave Michael"

Lucian said and Micheal immediately left the two

"Elaborate"

Lucian uttered lazily as soon as they were left alone

Summer felt like punching his nose till he bleeds

How dare he act indifferently?!

"I can't live with you, never!! and I can't be seen in public with you, this is temporary, Mr Stuart and if the public gets used to believing us as couples, what then will happen when our contract is over? No man would want me and I'll constantly be a laughing stock in public as they would see me as a divorcee!

Summer half yelled

"I can rule out accompanying me in the public but I can't rule out you living with me, you're supposed to act as my wife and so what couple stays apart from each other? Are you that lame?

Lucian spoke

Summer kept mum for some seconds and reflexively bit her lower lip, making Lucian withdraw his gaze from her 

"Okay, I accept"

Summer finally agreed and etched her signature on the space provided below the contract

Lucian did the same thing and stood up walking towards the door

"Let's go"

He said

"Let's go where?

The confused Summer questioned

"Marriage Civil Bureau"

BERVEY MANSION

"Why are still sulking? You could still get many other opportunities and offers"

Elizabeth tried consoling her daughter who had been moody for days now

Flora ignored her mom and lay under the quilt, down witted and furious

"Flora..."

"Mom could you just leave me alone, I don't want to talk to you now, just go"

She spat in annoyance

All she wanted was to be alone but her mom wasn't granting her that!!!

"Aren't you signed by Cherry? That's a good thing Flora"

Elizabeth uttered

She didn't know why her daughter keeps sulking cause she was rejected by Skylar entertainment industry

Flora jerked her head up and glared at her mom with teary eyes

"How can Cherry be compared to Skylar?! Cherry houses only minor celebrities, and Skylar? Skylar is only meant for list A celebrities and big endorsement projects and I was rejected by them during the audition!! Mom!!!

Flora boomed

She couldn't understand, why? just why couldn't she get a role in SHAKIRA?

She made sure to get enough connections and did a lot of preparation before the audition but Skylar didn't select her!!

Elizabeth got stranded, she didn't know what to say to make her daughter feel better and Flora was so used to getting anything she wanted from her childhood that it was now difficult for her to accept being rejected

She sighed as she gazed at Flora and that same moment, her phone rang

Her face lit up, 

finally some good news!

She thought as she saw the ID

"Hello Doctor?

Elizabeth acknowledged

"Yes about my nephew? Have you finally stopped his treatment?

"No? what?!

The smile on her face dropped down as her countenance took a 360 degree change

"What do you mean the debts had been cleared?! for real?.....oh okay thank you".

The call got disconnected and Elizabeth clenched her fist hard

How? just how was that possible?

What did that little bitch do?!

Flora who noticed her mom's displeasure raised her head 

"Was that the hospital?

She asked 

Elizabeth gritted her teeth and nodded

"That girl somehow managed to get off the hook of her debts"

"WHAT?!!!!!!!

Flora yelled

Today couldn't get any worse!

MARRIAGE CIVIL BUREAU

Summer and Lucian stepped out of the building and walked to the car

Lucian had drove them to the Bureau, sitting beside him next to the driver's seat, Summer stared at the red covered book on her hand in awe

Just untill few hours ago, she was totally single and now she is married, though a fake marriage though.

Turning the ignition, the car kicked started and they drove out 

"Go home, arrange your things and move in by tomorrow, this, is the address to the Villa"

Lucian instructed curtly, as he stretched his hands out to her with a black card 

Summer hesitated for few seconds before gingerly taking it from him

"What with him and black cards?

She mumbled and took a deep breathe

Fatefully, the route they took was the same route to the hospital

"You can drop me off here"

Summer said, making Lucian's eyes to narrow down at her

"Why?

He asked, his eyes still on the road, he made no sign of stopping

"Why? You're asking me why, oh you control me now?

Summer asked annoyed as she glared at the ice block 

"Our deal starts now and so I must know why you want to stop here!

"Mr Stuart, just stop the car!! stop!!!

Summer yelled, she wasn't ready for arguments, all she wants to do was go assist her brother as he would be operated on 

When Lucian still ignored her, she unlocked the car door and attempted to jump down

"What the fuck!

Lucian immediately parked over 

"Do you have a death wish?!!!!!! 

He boomed, ignoring his anger, Summer highlighted and quickly crossed over to the other side of the road

She could still feel the heated gaze directed at her and she dared not look at the direction of the parked car

As she waited for a taxi, she saw the car speed off from the corner of her eyes

Sighing softly, she hailed down a taxi and climbed in

"Olive Hospital, thank you"

"Alright"

The driver uttered and they drove off
