Suspect

Henry froze, his world was spinning, he had a look of horror on his face, emily was right and it pained henry more than anything, but emily on the other hand began laughing

She couldn't hold back how happy she was that she was right, she had won against the little brat

"Hahaha, the look on your face is so golden, i bet it hurts to be wrong, doesn't it," she said, as she took a sip from her cup of smoothie 

"Oh emily, i didn't see you there, how's it going," xavier said as he noticed emily through all her laughing 

"It's not going well at all, this kid is resilient," she said staring like she wanted to rip his head off his body 

Henry was flabbergasted, xavier knew this lady, and worst of all, he knew what she was here for. That explains how she had all his info, she had been granted permission 

"Wait! you know her?" henry said, looking at xavier with a expression of disbelief and betrayal

"Of course, her mother is Jane's best friend, and her family has a close relationship with Jane's family," xavier replied casually 

Henry was even more shocked, "Jane too," he thought 

"Why is the world so wicked, this was a planned work all along!" he screamed in his head 

[Heyy twerp, you're disturbing my sleep!] miley suddenly yelled

"Oh sorry,"

"She had been sleeping this whole time?" henry thought looking astonished

"You know what, it doesn't even matter anymore," 

"But why does triad want me for?" he asked xavier 

"Apparently they had gotten informed of your arrival as soon as we landed yesterday, there's no doubt they have agents working for them in our guild," xavier sighed 

"Anyways they asked for information about you, and requested they do a little interrogation, a request we cannot deny. We have no choice henry, but don't worry, it's gonna be okay," xavier said

"Really," henry asked 

"Of course, they're the good guys, they would just confirm you're not an enemy, and they even promised to try and retrieve your memories, so it's all good," xavier assured 

That was all henry wanted to hear, he could definitely trust xavier but not emily, xavier and jane had done nothing but helped henry since the beginning, so why lead him to his doom now.

He took a deep breath 

"Alright, I'll go with them," henry said, not like he had a choice anyway

"What! didn't you hear all that i just said?" emily asked, looking suprised

"I did, but i decided not to listen, you're just trying to scare me so I'd accept your offer. Yeah not happening," he replied 

"Ha, you stupid kid, i already said i never cared about the agreement, but you need to get out of here, you can't trust those people."

Uncle xavier, you'd be leading him to his death," she said, with a bit of concern

Henry was surprised, she would be concerned about him, but it didn't matter, he had made up his mind 

"Emily it's fine, triad won't try anything funny, jane has gone to make sure of that, you need not worry for henry," xavier said 

"Yeah, I'm definitely going to be fine, I've got a bit of luck you know, but i didn't know you'd be worried about me," henry said with a smile 

"Hmph, you think i care," emily replie

"But she does, i can't let them take him," she thought 

"Now now, emily, we all had an agreement, didn't we?" xavier replied calmly 

Emily was frustrated, she had failed, she stood up, seemingly about to leave 

"You'll regret this, and when you are in danger, remember that i warned you," she said walking towards the door 

Approaching xavier, she curtsied out of respect before leaving the room 

"I must inform mother quickly," she thought, as she walked out of the lounge, leaving the guild premises 

Back at the room, xavier was now sitting in front of henry

"I guess you rejected the adoption?" he asked 

"Yeah, i want to make it on my own," henry replied, knowing that he was deceiving himself . He just didn't trust emily 

"Okay kid, it's your choice, but after you get back from triad, we'll begin training," xavier said 

"Oh okay. But can I ask you something," henry said 

"Sure, go ahead," xavier replied

"I want to know why the economy is a bit...bad," he said 

"Oh, you must have seen it on the internet," 

Henry nodded "Of course, where else would I find out," henry replied with a smile 

"The economy is bad, yes, but it wasn't always like that. There is money, but not enough goods to purchase, making the prices of things to be inflated," xavier said 

"This is because of low resources to produce items, almost all the important minerals that we use to make our techs have been depleted from the earth, and some of which could not be replicated." he continued 

"Isn't there any other way to get resources, what happens when all the minerals are completely used up?" henry asked 

"Trust me, you don't want to find out. Triad had originally been working on ways to travel to other planets, through portals, cause spacecrafts were not so reliable, as the time taken is too much," xavier said 

"But they failed in their experiments, and that is why we have galactic beast's just popping up through portals whenever they like," 

Henry had a look of realization, he was about to ask another question when xavier spoke again 

"I know what you want to ask, and no we cannot enter the portals, unless someone has a death wish. A group of explores and mages had entered through one of the portals that brought a beast, they never returned, neither did we hear anything from them again. This was 10 years ago," xavier stated 

"Ohkay, so that is not even an option, so what then?" henry asked 

"Well, triad claims to have multiple exploration teams on other planets already, and that they had discovered more minerals, so who knows maybe that's what would help," xavier replied 

"Hmm, i can't place my hope on people who can't even couldn't even get ordinary portals working, I'll have to find a way to fix the economy on my own," he thought, with conviction as the prices of the system goods depended on it

He discussed a few more things with xavier, ones related to pricing beast cores and auctioning rare items. 

About 30 minutes later, a skinny man walked into the room, he approached xavier, made a slight bow and related some information to him.

"Oh, it seems they're here. Alright kid, you ready," xavier asked, as he stood up 

"Yeah, let's go," henry replied, also standing up  

They all walked out of the lounge and headed for the large landing space at the center of the guild 

There was a large aircraft at the end of the field, it resembled the aurora but was much bigger in size and much more intimidating 

A group of men were in front of it, they all wore black jumpsuits that had silver outlines, they each had a kind of belt on their waist, one that was holding various equipments

Xavier and henry approached them, that's when henry could've see them closely

They were 5 in number, having a solid gold emblem of a stylized T on their left chest, each holding plasma rifles. They were triad

"Welcome to the pegasus guild," xavier said loudly as they arrived at the spot

None of them said anything, they didn't care about the guild, just for the target they had come for 

Then one of them walked forward and introduced himself, he was as bulky as xavier, and had white messy hair, with a scar on his left eye. He was very intimidating 

"I'm agent hills, from the intelligence and enforcement division, triad, and the leader of this team,"

"And I'm xavier marshall," xavier said, spreading his hands for a handshake 

But hills didn't take it, he looked at henry curiously.

"Yeah, nice meeting you, is this the suspect?" he asked 

"He's not a suspect, but he's the one you're here for," xavier replied, changing the tone of his voice, he did not like the agents approach at all 

"Pardon my use of words," hills replied with a smile 

"He's just a kid, hmm, guess a strike team wasn't necessary," he thought 

"Alright, here's our warrant," he said, handing xavier a small holo tab 

Xavier took it and gave hills another holographic tablet 

"Those are the records you asked for," he said, looking warily at the rest of the armed men in the back 

"Relax, we're just being cautious," hills said with a smile, when he noticed xavier's gaze

He signaled for them to put away the weapons, and went through the info on the tablet 

"Hmm, interesting," he said with a suprised expression 

"Don't act like you don't have all the information on him already," xavier said in annoyance

"Good, then i won't stand on ceremony, we'll be taking him to our base in sector 04 which is located here in iris city," hills replied, signaling to his men

Xavier nodded and turned to henry

"Alright kid, be good. In truth i don't trust this guys but, it's protocol, if you don't clear yourself now, you'll be tagged as an enemy of the law," xavier said 

"I understand," henry nodded, 

Then he was escorted by the other agents into the ship 

"I hope you understand that no harm must come to him," xavier said to hills, in a slight threatening tone

"As long as he's clean, he would return to you in one piece," hills replied with a smile, masking a threat of his own 

"You seem to know a bit of how we operate," he continued, raising his eyebrow 

"Yeah, i used to know a certain, high ranking  agent of yours," he replied

"Hmm, that so. Do stay safe mister xavier," hills replied, before entering the ship 

The ship hatch closed and it ascended into the sky and flew off 

Henry was kept in a room and was closely monitored, while agent hills headed to the command center of the ship 

He took a seat near one of the consoles and pushed a button 

"The suspect has been secured," he spoke into the communication device on the console 

"Good, head back to base quickly, I'll inform the leader," a voice replied from the device 

"Roger that, over," hills replied,

Then he turned off the autopilot and took control of the rudder, steering the ship manually to the triad base
