I avoided looking at Percival as I munched on some scrumptious steak and potatoes. The food warmed my belly and helped me calm down, even if just a little bit. I didn’t realize how hungry I was until the first few bites hit my mouth, but at that point, I was eating quickly. Magic really did chomp away at any energy here. My brow was furrowed as I finally finished up, then looked at Percival with a nervous gleam to my eyes.
The vampire gave me a somewhat awkward smile, probably contemplating another apology. He was gorgeous as he stood there, his midnight hair falling down his back, his silver eyes gleaming with concern. His chiseled jawline was tight, as if he was clenching his jaw and drowning in his thoughts.
