Ethan set the plate aside and slid closer to the woman. She was warm. Warmer than anything he’d ever experienced before. When she left, it felt as though he’d been dropped back into that dark place with bad food and pain.
“But that’s suicide,” she said.
“It would be the only way to stop the trade of weapons and human women. It would be one thing if shifters were stealing human women from the other side.”
She nodded, “I… I understand. But the weaponry. How does he plan to do it?”
“I don’t know. He’ll be back soon though, so we can ask when he arrives.”
The house shook with the closing of the door and I heard the other man’s voice from downstairs.
“Erik? Patara?”
Erik stood and went to the door, opening it and shouting back, “We’re in your room. They’re awake.”
