Daze

When the door finally closed after Kristofer Almodiel disappeared from her sight, it left Anna to stare at the spot where she had last seen him.

It took all the strength she had to push herself and pretend that it didn't bother her at all.

What happened last night didn't allow her to fall asleep. She tossed and turned and if not after drinking some more milk to help her, she wouldn't have slept even a wink.

Sitting on her kitchen table, Anna touched her lips. She could remember vividly how Kristofer had kissed her and the way she responded to his touch.

Dropping her head on the table, Anna heard the loud thump and so was the pain that followed.

But she ignored it.

She felt too stupid. Way, way stupid. Now what?
