There was chaos in the morning after the sparring, at the Withley Mansion. Prince Francis, who was predicted to be dead by poison, was still alive in a perfect condition. My father, Marquis Whitley was so angry when he heard the news. The idea of poisoning Prince Francis was Olivia's idea after all.
"How come that prince is still alive?! Now people showed their interest in him and left Prince Roosevelt!" He punched the wall beside him. "Olivia… how can you solve this problem! You better think of a new way to solve all this mess!"
He still had Olivia in his mind? Her last plan was a complete failure and even her performance decreased. She wasn't as good as she used to be but why did you never look at me?
If my father didn't look at me because of Olivia, I would show him how bad Olivia really was. "Father." I approached him. "I know this is bad news, but please listen to me." He looked at me without saying a word, but his expression said 'you better not lie to me.'
"Sister Olivia… there's a possibility that she is actually betraying us." Father's expression was blank. "I found this in Olivia's room. She used to meet Prince Francis secretly wearing this robe."
Father took the robe and examined it. "Are you sure Olivia is betraying us? Even if she meets Prince Francis, maybe she is just trying to get some information."
Father, you still thought that way? "Then, why does she never report anything? Father, if you want, please check Olivia's room." I gave him my suggestion.
As expected, father walked to Olivia's room without saying anything, then ransacked her room. Seems like father started to doubt her for a little. When he found something to prove Olivia's betrayal, then I would get his attention. Just you wait Olivia.
Father had been ransacking the room for an hour. "Olivia you!" He suddenly yelled. In his hand, he held a bunch of papers. "Lydia, you will go to Duke Ashford's mansion with me!" He left the room in a hurry.
"Yes, father." I smirked and followed him. Olivia, your time had come to its end!
…..
The Ashford family's mansion condition wasn't much different then Whitley's. "MArquis, how come your daughter's plan failed?!" The duke yelled once my father and I entered his office.
"I'm not sure about it, your grace. But, I have another thing to report." My father handed out the papers he found at Olivia's room. "These papers are the copy of my note about the annual evaluation. I found them in Olivia's room."
The duke's eyes widened, as he checked every page of those papers. "Marquis, tell me. Are all of Prince Francis' right answers related to this note?"
"Yes. I doubt Olivia told the materials to him. Lydia saw her meet Prince Francis secretly."
The duke looked at me, as he asked me for my explanation. "What my father said is true, your grace. I found this robe and fabric at my sister's room. I followed her because I was curious what she does with these things. And it turned out that she met Prince Francis in secret."
The duke sighed. "From the beginning, I have doubted her. She didn't report several things to me nor my sister. But since she's a smart girl, I decided to keep trusting her. How come she repay me this way!" The duke paused, he was thinking about something. "Marquis, are you and your family betraying me too?"
My father and I knelt in an instant. "No! Of course not, your grace. If you want me to eliminate my own daughter, I will definitely do it."
Father, he was the type that could eliminate his own family. All he wanted was honor, reputation and money. If he saw someone was useless, or brought harm to him, he could eliminate or even kill them. So, if my father said he would eliminate Olivia, then he would do it.
"Alright. For now I will trust you, but if I find you betraying me, I won't let you go easily." The duke warned us. "Olivia, that girl, locks her when she returns. I will visit your place tonight. We still have to think how to deal with her since she is Rowan's fiance and everyone is watching our movement."
"Understood."
The duke was right. Eliminating Olivia without a good plan would bring backlash for us. Since she had a high position and came from the Whitley family, everyone watched her. If something happened to her without a good reason, the public would question us.
Duke Ashford was silent for a while, then gave a sign for us to stand up and took his teacup. "Someone go and call for Rowan!" He shouted to his servant who was standing at the door.
A few minutes later, the door was knocked. "Come in!" Rowan entered the room and greeted his father. "Rowan, your fiance is helping you as your advisor and secretary right? Go and check your document, is there any sign that she is betraying us."
"What happened? Is it because her last plan failed and Prince Roosevelt is still alive?" Rowan asked.
"No. She is betraying us. I want you to check if she is also touching your document or not."
Rowan's eyes widened when he heard Olivia betraying. "I will check the document at my office, father." He bowed then left the room with his father's permission.
"Both of you also go back to your mansion and do as I say. I will check everything here. There's a possibility that she is also messing at the laboratory."
My father and I left the room, and returned back to the mansion. From this time, I had to show that I was capable of and regaining my father's trust. I would be someone who was so powerful and never looked down. I would be better than Olivia.
"When Olivia arrived, drag her to the prison!" My father gave his command to the guards at the gate.
