"Conner," she breathed, her eyes welling up already.
"Hey, hey what's the matter?" He grabbed her shoulders, and his eyes were so brown and warm and inviting that she had to fight a whole waterfall from trailing down her cheeks.
"I have to say it," she whispered, unable to look into his eyes anymore, "There was another reason why I called you outside. Why I asked for that...for that..." she couldn't finish. She couldn't.
When her chin was being lifted she was shocked to see the lack of emotion in his eyes.
"I know," he soothed, "I know it had something to do with that guy, Aiden and his thing with Jen. I left with you because I wanted to. Everything..." her cheek burned as she remembered the kiss, and watched his own flush, "was because I wanted to."
She wiped frantically at her tears, and his hands squeezed her shoulders, letting her speak.
