Marley could feel his eyes on the side of her head as she kept hers straight on Gabby with all the willpower she could muster.
"I-ow!" She jumped at the slight burning sensation on her leg, but Aiden's hand held her still.
"Antiseptic," he explained. When she met his eyes, he was wincing too, "I'll try to get through this part quickly, okay?"
Feeling like she exaggerated a little, Marley relaxed again, nodding her head at him. When he hesitantly continued to cleanse the wounds, she found herself grateful for the pain. It kept everything else at bay.
The party mood for those in the room had dissipated into worry. Nobody in the group wanted to stay at Dalton's any longer, so while Aiden took care of Marley's cuts and Bree tended to a sleeping Elena, Leo arranged for the Uber and Jason left the library to find Sarah, Kelly, Ryan, and Tristan. Sarah went to 'drown her sorrows,' so the other three tagged along to keep an eye on her.
