In no time, Wan reached the forest. Elestria watched him enter the dark place. She then turned around but her action stopped. She looked down because didn't know what to do. Gideon's gaze messed up her thoughts.

Elestria played with her fingers. While looking down, she stepped forward, passing his shoulders.

"Where do you think you go?"

The cold, low voice tickled her ear. Elestria bit her inner cheek. Nervously, she explained, "I, I want to search Daphne." Needing the courage to talk with him.

"Wan will find her. Stay here."

Gideon put the beef jerky on the table. He stood and stared at her back. "Why do you stay there? Here, sit," he ordered.

Elestria shook her head. She looked at her back. "I'll find Daphne, too." Closing her eyes, she made fists. Her arms swung forward as well as her legs. When she opened her eyes, she found her feet floating.
