As the final review of the manuscripts concluded, Mr. Brigade leaned back in his chair, his expression a mix of satisfaction and something unsettling. He handed the documents back to Sarah, a smile flickering at the corners of his lips. "Thank you, Sarah," he said, his tone polite but layered with an undercurrent that made her skin prickle.
"Um, you're welcome," she replied, caught off guard by the ghostly smile that danced across his face, barely masking something more sinister. It felt like an invitation to an unspoken game, one she hadn't agreed to play.
"I've seen some complaints about your behaviour," he continued, his smile widening ever so slightly. "I understand that youth can lead to… peculiar fantasies, given your age, Understandable.. but you should have been aware of the CCTV cameras. Was it a dare, perhaps?" His words dripped with a mockery that left her reeling.
Sarah's mind raced. What was he talking about? She remembered everything he had done that day. She had thought their interactions here would be professional, or at least they had been—until now. She shook her head vigorously, her confusion deepening. No, it hadn't been a dare; is he teasing her? it was him who had pushed her on edge, a release of emotions that had suddenly felt vulnerable under his scrutiny.
Mr. Brigade, seemingly unfazed by her shock, leaned forward slightly, a gesture that should have been reassuring but felt anything but. "Mrs. Thompson mentioned how sincere you are. Don't worry—your… act won't affect your work," he said, the way he emphasized "ACT" made her heart race.
His demeanour was that of a gentleman, cool and poised, but the underlying tension was palpable. Sarah felt like she was in the middle of a bizarre psychological chess match, with Mr. Brigade playing the role of both boss and what was that.... The man who had once seduced her with drawings, pushed to orgasms, licked her juices with his own finger.. now was acting like stranger, and on top of that asking her question about the act which should be deep buried was making her
guilty. Ok she got carried out agreed! but it was Mr. Brigade who had seduced her...why is he teasing her now. If he wants to act professional, welcome ..at least don't mention it now and should not out all blame on me,
Confused and feeling exposed, Sarah gathered her papers, her mind a whirlwind of thoughts. She stumbled out of Mr. Brigade's office, the air outside feeling almost suffocating. The walls seemed to close in as she processed what had just happened. Was this really the same man who had dominated her body?
Questions bubbled in her mind, each one heavier than the last. The strange duality of Mr. Brigade left her feeling unmoored, lost between the lines of professionalism and the unsettling undertones of his words. She needed to find clarity, a way to navigate this unexpected darkness. As she walked away, the weight of uncertainty lingered, a shadow she couldn't shake.
