Chapter - 34

“I haven’t seen you for days. Are you that busy?”

Adriel paused in his steps as his brother’s voice echoed in the living room. He looked up to find August on the stairs, half way down. He looked so small in those blue pajamas.

“Yeah.” Adriel cleared his throat. “Have you eaten?”

August nodded his head and walked towards his brother. Adriel ruffled his hair before walking past him to get to his room.

“You are not hiding anything from me, right?” August asked from where he stood.

Adriel took a deep breath and went back to his brother.

“Will you believe me if I say no?”

August frowned and opened his mouth to say something but Adriel cut him off, “Just go back to sleep. You look worn out.” He opened his arm, offering a hug which the other gladly accepted, hiding his face in his big brother’s chest. When was the last time they hugged like this? His graduation day? Or that one time he almost got kidnapped by Martin Bethole and his gang? He doesn’t remember.
