[Kiyotaka POV]
After receiving my dorm key, I headed to my apartment.
Every apartment is equipped with its own bath, toilet, and kitchen, so there should be no inconveniences in my daily life. A basic set of furniture is also provided.
I calculated the time needed to gain control of the front entrance and located the emergency exits. I like being ready for anything.
Opening another door further in the apartment, a prominently placed set of kitchen and household goods catches my eye.
They seem to be in good shape, and I can confirm with a glance that the room itself will be a more than adequate living environment given my needs.
My exploration continued until I reached my bedroom.
Left there by myself, I layed down on my bed while vacantly staring up at the ceiling.
It's hard to relax inside a new lair until it's ingrained with your scent. Even so, I'll start living at this tempo every day from now on, going to school every morning, so there's no real need to rush things.
If I actively spend every day packing myself with potentially useful knowledge, someday this sort of lifestyle might come naturally to me.
The effort strikes me as a little troublesome, but as a great man once said... when it comes to your life and your women, a little bit of trouble is just about right.
Opposites attract, it's a well-known statement in romance. However, the proverb is deceptive.
You are not drawn to someone who is the polar opposite of you. You are drawn to someone who possesses what you do not. In some respects, it's extremely poetic; essentially, you fall in love with someone who completes you, someone who is your missing piece.
What is the point of knowing this?
Well...It is easier to seduce someone who is unhappy with their life; someone who is pleased with their life cannot be seduced since they don't desire what others possess and are content with what they have.
It's been a week since I came here, so far nothing productive happened. Maybe it's my fault since I chose to take a more passive approach, for now, silently observing everyone around me.
On the first day, a bunch of the boys did gather around me after that 'sensei incident' but left one by one when they realized I have a ....uh... 'boring' personality.
Kinda sad if you think about it, but it doesn't really bother me. The fewer people around me the better. I like working covertly.
There was that one-time Kushida came to me asking for my contact information, but I didn't regard it as anything special. She did the same for everyone in the class and even went beyond our class. Unlike me, her enthusiasm for making friends is rather admirable.
However, there was one person who piqued my interest. At first impression, she does not stand out and appears to be plain. As a result, no one talks to her, and she herself seems to be introverted. I've seen her glance at groups with a wistful gaze, so unlike Horikita, she truly seeks companionship.
So perhaps it's more like she's scared of making friends?
Airi Sakura.
Pass that lackluster pink hair and beyond those fake glasses is a gorgeous petite face. A face and body that would look great in any fashion magazine.
My neighbor Horikita started packing her thing to go home.
''See you tomorrow Horikita.''
''Tch.''
Sadly my innocent farewell was met with a sharp gaze and an annoyed expression.
I'm 92% sure she doesn't like me, but I am 100% sure that I don't care.
Mine and Horikita's relationship is nothing to brag about, to say the least, though I can confidently say she only talks to me. Not sure if that's a good thing or not.
I rose from my seat and proceeded to Sakura's desk. She was quietly packing her belongings. But, just as I was about to get to my destination, I was stopped by two figures.
''Hey, Ayanokouji wanna go to karaoke with us?''
'' There's gonna be girls.''
Ike and Yamauchi. They are one of the few people who talk to me on a daily basis, I think they count as friends. Right? What exactly qualifies someone as a friend?
''Yeah....I'm going to pass, but thanks for asking.'' I shrugged my shoulders.
''Huh? I expected you of all people to jump at the opportunity. What are you? Gay?''
''Don't even bother Ike, he won't budge unless it's a sensei.....pfft.''
They laughed as they walked up to Sudo's desk next, perhaps intending to invite him as well. Sudo, on the other hand, was fast asleep on his desk with his head buried down, in fact, I'm pretty sure has been like that since class started.
The fact that jellyfish survived 650 million years despite not having brains gives hope to people like them.
I ignored what had just happened and returned my attention to Sakura, but as I moved, I felt a slight tug on my shirt from behind me.
The universe seems pretty intent in me not seeing Sakura today.
Looking back it was Matsushita. She's someone who gets along with both the boys and girls and usually hangs out with Karuizawa's group. That's odd I wonder what she wants from me?
''Ayanokouji wanna have lunch together?''
Okay, this is very unexpected. I don't remember raising any flags when it came to her. Heck, I don't even think I talked to her once.
Of course, I'm not dissatisfied or anything, I myself find her to be quite attractive. With her long eyelashes, gradient blue eyes, and a warm smile that gives the impression of a caring older sister.
However, I am not the type of person who believes that things happen for no reason.
'Well, that came out of the blue, any specific reason why?'' I asked.
''Mmm...dunno but if I had to pick, It's cause you always eat alone so I figured why not just invite you.''
Guess I was spot on about the caring sister part. I saw no traces of lies on her face, but I'm sure that's not the only reason.
Looking back from the corner of my eye, I noticed Sakura exiting the door with her head down. Guess today's not the day. Well, it doesn't really matter, it's not like she is going anywhere.
Seeing that I have nothing better to do, I might as well go along with Matsushita. That would be faster than me speculating what she wants.
''sur---'' I stopped myself when I felt a vibration in my pockets. Taking out my phone I found a single message.
From an unknown number.
< Meet me in the park within an hour>
The park?..... Well, I have no reason to listen to it whatsoever. I'm just going to treat it as spam mail. Just as I was about to turn off my phone, I received another notification.
<If you don't show up, I will hunt you down. (>‿◠)✌ >
Hunt me down? What's that supposed to mean? Now I'm just curious about the sender. Plus what's up with that cute emoji at the end. It doesn't make things better you know.
''Sorry Matsushita, I gotta take a rain check on that offer.''
''W-Wait h-hold on...''
'' Yeah, I just remembered I had something to do. Maybe some other time. Cya.'' I left before she could reply.
Strolling through the school hallways I headed to my current destination- The park.
Now then, let's see who this mystery sender is.
