Chapter 33: Becoming The Enemy Of The World

"Yes, it's Ocean Calamity Planck's fleet!"

"Are they trying to steal the heavenly gold?"

"This is madness!"

Countless Marines at the 74th branch base were horrified!

Vice Admiral Joseph of the branch and Viper Snape, the CP agent leader responsible for escorting the heavenly gold, were pale with fear.

Ocean Calamity Planck's reputation had spread worldwide after he defeated Rear Admiral Bastille.

But they never expected Planck to be bold enough to target the heavenly gold.

"A mere pirate daring to challenge the world,"

"This is a death wish!"

Vice Admiral Joseph drew his saber and pointed it at Planck, his words serious.

As a Vice Admiral of a World Government branch, Joseph believed in his own strength.

Moreover, he wasn't the only powerful figure present.

Next to him, CP agent leader Snape's eyes turned into snake-like pupils, and his fangs dripped deadly venom.

Snape was a Zoan Devil Fruit user with the abilities of a viper, possessing the combat power of a Vice Admiral.

With the two of them working together, Joseph was confident they could at least hold Planck back, if not defeat him.

As long as they could delay him for two hours, support from nearby Marine bases would arrive to completely eliminate Planck.

But they didn't have that much time.

Without wasting words, the battle began.

The roaring and wailing were endless.

The 74th Branch Base Fort, the Sky Gold Fleet, and Planck's pirate fleet immediately started exchanging artillery fire!

The 74th branch base was not like the ones Planck had looted before; it was fortified and well-armed.

For a moment, countless cannonballs stirred up waves on the sea, blasting many of Planck's pirate ships into pieces.

However, despite the power of the 74th branch base, Planck's fleet was even more formidable.

The Abyss, Planck's ship covered in runes, unleashed a barrage of artillery fire, followed by a second, third, and even tenth round without stopping!

Combined with the volleys from numerous allied pirate ships, the sky seemed filled with pitch-black cannonballs.

The shells rained down like droplets, and thick smoke gradually covered the entire sea and Island.

Visibility was obscured by the gunpowder smoke,

But the relentless shells cutting through the smoke, bringing death,

And the flashes of fire in the thick fog, along with the constant wailing, indicated the battle was intensifying.

Shadows in the smoke grew larger, and the roar of cannons being loaded and fired came closer.

The sounds of decks cracking and masts breaking became more audible.

The Marines at the 74th branch base, along with the CP agents, tightened their grips on their weapons.

They knew a brutal hand-to-hand battle was imminent.

The next second, a massive and terrifying ship cut through the smoke, appearing before Vice Admiral Joseph and Agent Snape.

"Young men, chop their bones into pieces and dye the sea red with their blood!"

"I am the scourge of the ocean!"

On the bow of the Abyss, Planck stood tall and proud, holding a gun in one hand and a knife in the other, shouting loudly!

Behind him, a large number of pirate ships carrying blood and fire emerged from the smoke.

The pirates cheered loudly and, under Planck's leadership, rushed directly to the dock and the warships anchored there.

Vice Admiral Joseph shouted that justice would prevail and faced Planck decisively.

Several large warships loaded with heavenly gold were docked at the dock.

Neither Joseph nor Snape could take a step back.

Joseph swung his saber, aiming for Planck's chest.

Meanwhile, Snape, saying nothing, hid among the crowd.

As Joseph attacked, Snape lunged like a lion, aiming to bite Planck's neck with his venomous fangs!

Joseph's sharp saber gleamed with a dark light, while Snape's curved fangs dripped deadly venom.

Their combined attack, especially Snape's surprise strike, could have easily taken down an ordinary Vice Admiral.

However, they were facing Planck, who now had the combat power of an elite Vice Admiral!

Planck fired a special lead bullet straight at Joseph's heart.

Before Joseph's saber could reach Planck, the bullet would penetrate Joseph's heart.

Joseph quickly blocked with his sword, causing a "ding" sound.

Planck's bullet sparked off Joseph's saber, forcing him to step back.

Joseph was knocked back by the bullet, but Snape's snake head was already closing in on Planck.

Just as Snape's deadly fangs were about to pierce Planck's neck, there was a flash of fire, and a flaming scimitar blocked Snape's attack!

The strange and hot flames began to spread from Snape's fangs towards his head and body.

Snape felt intense pain and tried to pull away, but his fangs were stuck by the scimitar. He struggled to move!

As the flames were about to engulf his head, Snape's heart skipped a beat. He quickly broke off his fangs and retracted his head!

The fangs fell to the ground, and the venom splashed, corroding the hard deck.

Planck ignored the damage, leaping over the holes and waving his scimitar.

He pointed at Snape, who was covering his mouth, blood dripping and hair burnt, and said contemptuously,

"Compared to that guy's venom, your venom is weak!"

In Planck's memory, the venom of Cassiopeia, the Snake's Embrace, was far more deadly than Snape's.

Snape didn't reply. He coldly looked at Joseph and said,

"He's strong. We have to stop him here at all costs!"

"The heavenly gold must never fall into the hands of these scum!"

As the leader of the CP agents escorting the heavenly gold, Snape had been thoroughly brainwashed by the World Government and Celestial Dragons.

To him, the Celestial Dragons were the creators of the world and living gods.

And the glory of these gods must never be defiled.

Joseph nodded solemnly. One bullet had shown him the gap between him and Planck.

But with the heavenly gold of the World Government right before him, even if it cost him his life, Joseph was determined to protect it.

The commands of the World Government were absolute to a man like Joseph.

Just as Joseph was about to step forward and block Planck, a round, burly man holding a wine barrel and burping stepped in front of him.

"Want a drink?"
