The Secret is out

At the Williams mansion, Natalia walked slowly as her mother guided her carefully into her room. None of her parents had talked to her about anything yet, but the look on their faces gave her a rough idea of how dire it was.

"There, my baby girl, now rest up, mommy is going to prepare you the best soup, okay?" Matilda said her voice softly as she tried to hide her hurt at seeing her daughter in such a condition.

Donald walked into the room, his gaze fixed on his daughter's pale face.

"Dad? What did the doctor say?" Natalia asked, her eyes stinging as tears threatened to pour.

Donald walked to her side holding her hand gently, "sweetheart, doubt worry right now you just have to take your meds well and focus on getting better."

"No dad, I want to know what the doctor said?" Natalia asked as she felt her body vibrating in anger and bitterness.

"Darling please…" Matilda tried to calm her down, but she was cut off.

"No mom, I want to know, I'm a grown up not a baby for goodness' sake !" Natalia shrieked, her voice full of desperation and anger.

Matilda looked at her as fresh tears invaded her eyes. Seeing her daughter suffer this way was the last of her wishes.

"You have aplastic anemia sweetheart, but the doctor said it's treatable, so no need to worry," as Donald explained Natalia's mind registered his voice as music to her ears.

The only words replaying in her mind being 'aplastic anemia '. Did she deserve to have such a disease? It was all Heather's fault! Her mind swelled in bitterness as she thought her lucky step-sister always was.

Natalia now understood what the doctor meant by surgery. She had to undergo a surgery while her sister enjoyed the life that she deserved? She couldn't allow it! She felt herself burn up in anger at the thought.

"No…no dad, I can't be sick! It's all Heather's fault dad! It's her fault!" Natalia cried out in denial, anger filling her mind.

Donald held her tightly, as if taking all her pain away. How could he let his daughter suffer alone? He had to be there for her and give her the best the world could offer.

"Do I have to undergo surgery after the medication? Do I even have a donor?" Natalia asked in panic. Her heart wished for some hope.

"Sweetheart not to worry, the bone marrow surgery will take place, your mom and I took tests, we'll know soon if we can't be your donors," Donald explained, kissing her hair.

A thought crossed Natalia's mind, making her ask almost immediately without thinking it out.

"What if none of you are a match? Will I die?" She asked, tears cascading down her cheeks.

"Think positively hunnie, you'll be okay," Matilda comforted her, but her expression appeared to be mirroring her daughter's worried features.

"Yes hunnie, listen to your mom," her father said, looking at her like she was a delicate egg that could break any minute.

Natalia felt her mind fill with anger as she looked at the pitiful looks on her parents face. She couldn't bear to see their pitiful looks. She could have had anything she wanted in the world, but here she was turning from something to a sick nothing.

The thought of Heather possibly seeing her in that condition made anger boil like lava in her.

"Get out of my room!" She shrieked pointing to the door. She needed to be alone and wallow in her sorrows.

"Hunnie please, calm down," Donald said trying to comfort her, but she turned away from him, her anger evident.

Donald was afraid this would happen, he just prayed that Natalia accepted her condition in order for her treatment to work.

"Sweetheart please," Matilda tried to call out to her, but instead she received a pillow hitting her face.

"Get out of my room! No one cares about me! I hate you guys! It's all Heather's fault! I hate her! Get out, get out," Natalia screamed, pouring all her emotions on her outburst.

Matilda called for the nurse, seeing her daughter's hysterical behavior. Feeling her heart wring in pain at the sight of her beloved daughter's condition.

Minutes later, Matilda looked at the knocked out daughter who lay on the bed. The sedative was really necessary as the doctor had said, she wiped her tears closing the room gently behind her.

Donald waited downstairs for his wife who walked with her shoulders shrugged in fatigue.

"Honey how could you let yourself suffer all these years alone?" Donald asked as he pulled her into his embrace. He couldn't imagine how hard it would have been for his wife to keep such a big secret to herself.

Matilda sobbed in his embrace, "I'm so sorry hunnie, I just couldn't let you see our daughter as weak compared to that good for nothing thing you have for a daughter!"

Matilda cursed sobbing out loudly making Donald ignore the sting that he felt when he heard his wife refer to Heather using such vile words.

"It's okay sweetheart, it's not your fault, you were just thinking of her bright future," Donald said, holding her tightly as he comforted her.

"Now what do we do, hunnie? We don't have the money for the operation," Matilda asked, an idea popping up in her mind. She had to bring it up now, or she wouldn't have any other golden opportunity.

Donald stilled for a second at Matilda's question, if anything she was right, the money they received from the Anderson Family was to use at the company. They couldn't afford her bone marrow transplant.

"We'll find a way hunnie, just calm down, even if you have to sell everything, then I will," Donald said pouring out his heart.

Matilda pulled away from him, looking at him in disbelief. "I can't believe you! Do you want to sell everything and leave us poor? Can't you think of the obvious way to get our daughter guaranteed good health?" Matilda asked, making him furrow his brows confused.

"Asking for more money from the Anderson Empire? No, you know I can't do that, I'll find another way out," Donald said, pushing off the thought. He couldn't go begging the Anderson's to help him, he had to keep his pride intact.

"No, that's not what I mean…" Matilda started, but was interrupted by her husband's loud ringtone.

"Sorry hunnie, I have to take this really quick okay?" Donald excuses himself, placing a kiss on her cheek comfortingly.

Matilda looked at her husband's disappearing back, feeling annoyed that he couldn't think of the only option to save their daughter.

If he couldn't save her then she would do it for herself, she had to save Natalia, no matter what was the cost! She swore inwardly, clenching her fists.

"Heather, look out, I'm coming to get you soon, you'll become as useless as your stupid mother!" Matilda cursed lowly looking angrily into space.

She smirked as she remembered just how awful Sarah looked when she left the house defeated and humiliated years ago.

If her daughter was going to suffer, then she would make Sarah's daughter suffer tenfold. Matilda clenched her fists even harder, her nails digging mercilessly into her palm.
