A PARTYING GIFT

My mom went to answer the doorbell then gasped when she saw the monster before her, then he said,"Hi mom..."

My mom started crying tears of joy as he nervously looked away, but she hugged him tightly and kissed him.

He hugged her back then looked up to see me, who looked like he had seen a ghost, because I had.

When my mom let go, he nervously scratched the back of his head while saying,"Hi Felix."

I just hugged him and patted his back three times, tears falling from my closed eyes.

He hadn't changed a bit.

Alex sensed someone coming then looked behind me to see...

"Alexa..."He said in a familiar tone.

"Alex!"She yelled.

She ran into his embrace and he kissed her forehead as she cried, then she said,"I'm so sorry for what I did, I missed you so much."

"No, no, no, sis, I'm sorry, for all the pain and hurt I caused you throughout the years and nothing I can say could ever change that, I deserved it, could you ever forgive me?"

She hugged him again then said,"Of course I can, you're my best friend."

He then pulled back slowly and asked,"But where's Trevor? I figured you two would be hitched by now, I don't sense him anywhere...on earth."

She looked down then said,"Trevor...well he..."

"I killed him."Curtis said.

"Curtis, I see you haven't changed a bit old buddy, but, why?"Alex asked.

"Well your sister's pretty hot and desirable so..."He began.

Alexa stomped on his foot hard and he winced in pain but grinned when Alex spoke,"Well you wouldn't actually be the first person to want that twirp dead so, meh."

Alexa sighed sadly then they both widened their eyes and apologized since they were both just joking, they knew Trevor was one in a million, in the best way.

"But how are you still alive?"Anneliese asked.

"I have been asking myself that same question since I woke up, I did die, or at least, I think I did, but, aargh!"He yelled.

We all rushed to his aid but he said,"No don't worry, it's okay, this has been happening since I woke up, but I do remember how I woke up now...I never died even though I was ready to, ready to free the world of the bondage of the existence of someone like me, but, my body wasn't ready to die yet. I was placed into a coma by my own mind while it healed me on its own. I stayed in a death like sleep till my recovery was complete, since my mind had to do it without help, it took years...decades without me ageing, and then, I woke up."

I smiled at him then said,"Well then maybe this is your chance to be redeemed."

"Yeah."He chuckled,"And I'm not wasting it."

"Die!!!"

"Alexa..."

"Alexa!"Alex yelled when he woke up.

He looked around and sighed, it was just a nightmare...or a memory.

He looked across the room, sensing Alexa's whole figure and wellbeing, then smiled at her, then lay down again.

"Who is that?!"I yelled.

I looked around to see Alex had...made breakfast for us.

He smiled then said,"Good morning big bro."

"What's this?"I asked.

"Breakfast, it's your favorite...I'm sorry I had to read your mind to find out."He said.

I looked him up and down, then started spinning the liquid in the glass with a vortex while zooming in with my Water Vision and Anneliese asked what I was doing.

"I'm checking to see if it is poisoned or something."I said, meaning every word.

Anneliese kicked me under the bed but Alex said,"It's okay Anne, I deserve that."

I then asked,"What's the occasion?"

He spread his arms out in a carefree manner then said,"I was given a second chance."

Then he vanished.

From that day, Alex tried his best to make sure we were all happy.

He literally did everything for us, and being the most powerful living being, whether human, animal plant, fungus or monster, that had ever lived...that was easy for him.

He did all the house work...at once, took the pets out for a walk, played with the kids, and was especially attached to his newest brother; Alek, but I had never seen Alex like this in like, ever...happy.

I just wished Trevor, my dad and Alex, my mirror twin were here to see this.

It was like his mind didn't only heal his body, but it also healed itself and that brought tears to my eyes, which, Alex was always around to lend me a shoulder for.

A candle was lit out of the blue then Alex looked into the flame, then took up a knife and pierced it through the cupcake.

Alexa walked closer to him, rubbing the sleep off her eyes as she asked,"Alex, what are you doing?"

He looked at her then said,"Oh it's nothing, I just never got to celebrate my birthday, that's all."

She gasped then said,"I'm so sorry, we totally for..."

"No, no, no, no, it's okay, I'm fine, besides, I want to make it up to you guys, not the other way around."He said.

She smiled then hugged him and said,"Happy belated birthday Alex."

Just then, Alex tensed then pulled back and she asked the problem, at that moment, a pillar of ice grew from before them and one behind them.

Alex told his sister to get behind him and sensed where this was coming from as several plants and figurines of ice were growing, then he opened his eyes and looked at the door as I said,"You're pretty tense for someone about to get his birthday celebrated, come on guys!"

We all appeared around him then yelled the words;' Happy Birthday ' !

The children wrestled each other for a turn to give Alex the present they got him while we the adults did it in a more, orderly manner.

We celebrated his birthday that night, and both his and Alexa's birthdays by the weekend, the twins were reunited.

But this made me miss my twin brother more, Alex didn't deserve to die like that.
